Brilliant!

If true, this is the best story we've heard in years:
  • Kudos to the officers from TRU who were asked to volunteer to go to Iowa for disaster relief. They were told that 30 officers were needed. Their response was "how about we send 29 and the gov of Iowa can commute Mikes sentence and he can meet us there, otherwise GFY" Needless to say, the state of MN. sent officers.
Someone to verify? This is the type of thing we'd like to see pull everyone together to really stick it to the City, the mayor and the jackasses running this Department into the ground.

Maybe they should ask that judge that sentenced MM to fill sandbags. If we don't stick together they will expect that we give up our rights and continue being second class citizens. I don't mind helping out the people of Iowa - I gave money and made donations of clothes to salvation army and redcross. But volunteer where an injustice occurred hhmm self explanatory. Maybe j-fed can go to Iowa with his tahoe and save flood victims. For all you TRU haters out there that wanted that unit eliminated how are your backlogs going LOL . All of those cut the majority went to A 2 and the districts are still undermanned. You just fucked over goodguys. This hating has to stop we all wear the same patch on our shoulder and it says CPD. Stay safe put yourself down on a street stop or tstop if you think the shit is going to hit the fan so that the cavalry can get there faster just from experience.

You know it's sad, but karma's a bitch isn't it. You idiots in iowa have total disregard for a good person's life from illinois and hang him out to dry. Well maybe in a wierd way this is G*d saying your state wronged an innocent man and NOBODY in the whole state was man enough to stand up for what was right and overturn the sentence, so you get what you deserve. Hopefully the judges house was one of the ones that's sitting in 15 feet of water right now.

They have an important job keeping the public informed and this is how they behave in their off time? Something needs to be done!

As a taxpayer, concerned busybody, and with with too much time on my hands, I'd like to suggest additional statistics that can be beneficial to current arrest reports. The following suggestions may provide introspect into an offenders motivation and behavioral triggers. I'm eager to see any significant results from this latest survey and what patterns may become evident.

Please forward my suggestions to management.

Thank You
Citizen XXX

Arrest Time: 11:15pm
Temp: Current conditions as of 3:51 am CDT.
Mostly Cloudy, Feels Like:63°. Humidity:63%. Visibility:10 mi. Dew-point:50°.
Wind:NE 3 mph. Sunrise:5:15 am. Sunset:8:28 pm
Mood: Offender states cooler summer weather makes him sad. Offender is also upset at the probability of rain within the next 5 days.
Astrology: The offender's astrological sign is Gemini and ruling planet is Pluto. The offenders criminal behavior and angry outburst may have been influenced by tonight's full moon. I hear that the latest update from the contract talks had the city and the FOP agreeing to a 6 day work week with 3 days off and giving up the availability pay, also 10 hr days for rapid response. Did anyone ask us? I don't want to work 6 days in a row. If this comes to pass I am leaving tact and going on a rapid. I loved the 10 hrs when I was in housing. With my 16 yrs I will get a rapid if it is by senority. If it is not than something is fucked up. A better idea would be to give Tact 10 hr days they only have 2 shifts so it will work. If not you will lose most of your tact people, at least the smart ones.

Off Topic, I am just about done reading a book called, Buried Dreams - Inside the mind of a serial killer. It is about John Gacy, not only once, but twice before he was finally caught, were charges brought against him by 2 seperate victims of RAPE (m/2's) and charges were rejected by felony review, an asa's name is even given in the book. In one case gacy used his heavy clout and the asa actually said gacy was to nice to have possibly done what he was accused of and the victim was treated like the offender. It is possible that if felony review did their job the right way there would've been alot less dead teens/young men. This was a few years b4 he was caught. And while I'm on here let me remind some of you lazy police, that a person does not have to be missing for 24 hours, before you make the damn Missing report. If we have any old DesPlaines police reading this blog, please tell more about FRU rejecting the charges.

OT: There is a current story in Friday's Trib concerning the parole hearings for Ronnie Carasquillo who murdered P.O. Loftus (014) back in 1977. There is a bunch of churches and politicians trying to get him paroled. Please go over to the Trib and leave your messages on there blog about the story. There is also a petition going around the Districts, please sign it. ASA Savini and some other Investigators were out on Fullerton/Central Pk. shooting video footage last week of the scene. She seemed really committed to keep this POS IG locked up. I read the story this morning and mine was the 1st comment on there.

Duhhh! It's like a broken record. It's nobody's fault other than the reckless savage pulling the trigger.

Cook County Courts don't even enforce the gun laws on the books. The only thing that more strict gun laws are going to do is hurt and put in harms way, the good people.

I doubt this is true and TRU at all. I and 11 others went to help out in the rescue and recovery effort in NYC at Ground Zero. We were the FIRST CPD team in their arriving on Sept 12th......... The mayor was on the news and calling all units and districts telling the commanders, if any CPD copper went to NYC they would not be covered under the contract, nor would we be covered medically for injuries.......... We were told to turn back our vehicles, we took our own "time due" to drive there and work.

And please DO NOT compare TRU to SOS. Even with this scandal going on in SOS, we had alot of hard working seasoned coppers doing the job legit, well the bosses in SOS were another story......... And the TRU bosses are yet again another story.

So, i highly doubt the mayor would allow anyone go to Iowa, and your right FUCK IOWA, they are getting a bit of karma payback.

BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION SYSTEM
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION SYSTEM
BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION SYSTEM
____________________________

In 2006 the Chicago Police department began placing department members into this program. The vast majority of these officers did not meet the criteria set forth by the department needed to be placed into the program. The placements came about as a reaction to scandals involving other officers who have been charged with crimes. In other words the knee jerk reaction was to punish innocent officers for the sins of others.

The officers were scandalized in the media, and thier reputations have been wrecked by this. A grievance was filed and the city dragged thier ass until arbitration was demanded. Finally, realizing the problem it faced, the city admitted it's error in placing members into the program. Unfortunately, the FOP has taken an all to common position, and backed away from confrontation with the city. The official FOP position is that they will not be seeking damages of any sort from the city, on behalf of it's 662 members. This raises many questions about a "back room" agreement during which the members got screwed. They did get screwed. Donahue (JUDAS) will likley be getting a nice job when he retires.
JUDAS

Now is the time for the affected members to hire a lawyer, and sue the city, and the FOP. A lawsuit can only be filed if the officers were not satisfied during the grievance process. Are any of you officers satisfied with the way the grievance was handled? I know I am not. It is time to bring down the heat on this city. If 662 members jump on this suit, united with a common beef, the city will back down. You will get paid for the damages you suffered. We all know that everybody else does that brings suit against this town, now it is your turn. Stand up for yourselves, united against this bully of a city.

You, were the minority of officers who went out there on a daily basis, and policed the streets as they needed to be. And as a thank you, were demoralized by the very organization that sent you out there to do the job. Why is crime skyrocketing in this city. I contend that it is because those of us that used to work, will not do it any more for this ungrateful city. They took the hardest workers, and beat us down, but now it is time to stand back up. Put the energy you used in locking people up, into this effort. Raw determination is your strength, and if used correctly will do more then raise a few eyebrows. Lets destroy the olympic dreams of this spineless Mayor the same way he destroyed your love for this job.

Anyone with me?

Not much can be done for Mike from Illinois. The only ones who can put pressure on Iowa public officials are those people.

Remember, the goal is to do what we can to help Mike, not satisfy our own anger about the unfairness of the whole thing and the inattention Iowa voters are giving this injustice.

Mike is back at the Rockwell City Facility. He went back on Monday. He is feeling better; they are changing his bandages once a day and will not release him to work yet.

If you send him any cards or letters please make sure you have the correct address:

Mike Mette #6520284
North Central Correctional Facility
313 Lanedale
Rockwell City, Iowa 50579

Thanks,
Jen (Mike's sister)

PS. My heart goes out to the people of Iowa who have lost their homes, belongings, etc...Unfortunately the flooding did not hit parts of Dubuque like the judge, the prosecutor, or the “victims” residence.

Wouldn't the best thing be 100s of Chicago Officers "flooding" into Iowa and helping the working farmer, the backbone of our country.

And wouldn't it be great if the coats they wore, bore the words "FREE METTE"? That would be a picture worth a thousand words.

The people of Iowa aren't the enemy - rich sh#th#ads who think they own the universe, and do, are. And we in Chicago should understand that.

Weirdo Psycho says:

JUDAS

6/19/2008 02:26:00 PM

Correct, the city did not send people to 9-11 but did send people to Katrina, so much for your theory. I was at the supervisors briefing when the w/c announced that the department would be looking for 30 volunteers for a 10 day detail to Iowa. A sergeant snapped off "they already have one of ours!Mike Mette." Which was followed by a few more comments in the same tone. Each sergeant either told their team or didn't tell them about the request. We didn't hear another word about it after that.

I know that this may sound like B.S. but, aside from the 2...yes I said 2, that have no idea of discretion or common sense on mids, please don't paint the entire 16th district with the same brush. We do the best that we can with the limited amount of manpower and the vast majority of P.O.'s would bend over backwards to help another P.O. who lives in or passes through 16. Believe me, I hate to say it, but, these 2 P.T. & B.D. are DANGEROUS. If i were out and had just a few pops and they stopped me, I would be very nervous, and I know these 2! Birds of a feather...the old school and those that were taught by old school will always try to do the right thing. Some of the new guys and those who are older with an agenda cannot be reasoned with. I don't want the younger guys that understand that we need to help each other to take offense to this. This is meant for the new guys that feel that they need to make a name for themselves by jacking around another copper, fireman, paramedic, nurse, doctor and the like. We are the only ones that can help and protect each other...can we please start acting like it ?

Get your head out of your ass dipshit we sent several coppers to New Orleans after Katrina where the hell have you been

-----------------------------------

My head is out of my ass, asshat........ They sent in SWAT for Katrina at first, and then a there was a waiting list of other officers to go....

BUT when 9/11 happened which was WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, Lil Richie wanted NO coppers going. We were told when we left on 9/11 that we werent covered, and had to use time due slips.

When CFD sent teams and the news camera's caught them packing up their gear and trucks, The stuttering midget thought it was a good PR for the police and then allowed people from 010 and detectives go on their bus. I believe they were paid.

Lil Richie used us as another PR stunt when our team was invited along with the CFD members that were the first responders into Ground Zero for an "award" from him and the city counsel.... After about a half our CFD and our team stood up and walked out of the counsel meeting, it was nothing but glad handing each other infront of the camera's. So I DO know what i am talking about. Unless you were in my unit or my vehicle as i drove to Ground Zero i will tell you to STFU asswipe.

My sister's house took 3 1/2 feet of water two weeks ago with the flash flooding in Indiana. Everything in the house was covered in slimy mud. The interior will need to be gutted.

The first day they were able to get into the house, some women from another town were driving around, offering to help. My sister cried when she told me about it, even though it was very little help given the destruction she was dealing with.

I agree that Mike has been screwed over big time. Does anyone really think that CPD's refusal to help will in anyway be connected to Mike? Or be seen as a lesson about what happened with Mike? I doubt it.

It would, however, have been an opportunity for people in Iowa to see CPD as heroes for helping out. Then others might have cried, as my sister did, when they told their friends and family about how grateful they were to these Chicago cops who were such angels.

Your days of hiding behind a fake facade of caring for the members is over. Tuff questions wille asked of you, and unsatisfactory answers are sure to follow.
