The list that appears in the article reads like a who's who of family connections that dictate who gets what portion of the pie funded by taxpayers and our pension dollars. Who could possibly use a list like this? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? J-Fed? Mr. Fitzgerald?

What about all the exempts past and present that work in the well connected companies that do business in Chicago?
I can only imagine what we would find. Wonder if we could file freedom of information requests to see the ethics statements of everyone LT and above?
SCC, can the media file a freeedom of information for copies of "da mayors" ethics statement? Also, after reading of all the daley clans (spelled with a c) job positions, they all seem to be related to some form of public/goverment employment. Do they all have ethics statements on file? Just asking.
there are possibly two ways to end this nightmare, a federal indictment or TERM limits on all city officials. the writer thinks its cute that the Daley clan has reach in basically every aspect of this city.

I am pretty sure that any citizen can see any ethics statement that has been filed. Freedom of Information Act is not necessary. However, and here is the rub, I am also pretty sure that the individual who filed the ethics statement is notified that the statement has been examined, and by whom.
Ah it continues, the whole daley family belongs in prison. But we know that won't happen. With the imminent election of his bitch boy Obama, we better just learn that things will stay the same, wait things will get much better for the Daley clan.

I saw that article, and left unsatisfied. It felt like it only scratched the surface. You know all those men are involved with much more.
I've been watching The Wire too long, I know. I want to see the big bulletin board with all the photos and all the businesses listed under each name.
But please, just say no to term limits. That way lies the impending financial apocalypse that is the State of California. People need to have the stones to run against, or vote out, craptacular incumbents and their thieving sons.

Reading the story, I was surprised that his son accomplished nothing except degrees and his army status. His experience in business was all clout and favoritism. At least the other kids are successful in business world.

Our pension fund is FREE money to the Daleys to PLAY with, i.e. Vanecko. He will, no doubt, get a kick-back in the way of a "fund management fee" to the tune of millions of dollars whether his investment with our $$ pays out or not.
We (pensioners) on the other hand get f*cked.
Our Pension Board members (who we elect) are the ones who should be overseeing who is playing with our money. THEY should be investigating, asking the questions of who is behind the company asking for $$ to invest. They should flat out ask anyone if they are in anyway connected to the Daleys, Strogers, Durbins, Rezco, Madigans, Blagos, etc. They are asleep at the wheel and we should be demanding more from them. First of all, what makes them experts in this field? We should be asking THEM lots of questions.
I know this will be an unpopular comment, and I will be called a kiss ass and most likely worse, but how many of you would not do the same if you had the chance? How many of you would not hook up your kids with nice jobs? It seems rather unrealistic to think that all of us paying private school education and working side jobs to provide for our families would not follow in the Daley tradition. However, screwing with the pension money is a bridge too far.

Did anyone read the article in the Sunday Slum-Times about the 3rd generation of Daley’s getting themselves line up to run the City of Chicago after Rich “The Bitch” retires? They have already spread their familial tentacles throughout the city’s business community and seem to think that the exorbitant taxes that Chicago residents are forced to pay is their private largess. How can anyone vote for this bumbling dumbo ? If it wasn’t for his name and membership in the “Lucky Sperm Club” this asshole would be making a living with a broom or shovel. And, he probably couldn’t handle that job.
The article infers that if you want to do business with the city and can’t get a permit, license, etc., hire a Daley, or a Daley crony. Magically, all the barriers collapse. For a price.
How much more shit does this nitwit have to pull before the Feds perp-walk him out of city hall?
Fitzgerald should get busy and put an end to this, in the words of Jane Byrne, Evil Cabal. And while he’s at it he should check out the skullduggery going on in relation to politicians using their office and patronage armies to get their kids elected to public office. I’m talking the likes of Mike “It’s my money,” Madigan using his troops to get Lisa Madigan elected Attorney General. There was a lot of talk about what was going on in that rented office at 9900 S. Kedzie. Then there is William Lipinski pulling a fast one and dropping out of the House race after he won the primary, and handing the U.S. Rep’s job to his pick and shovel son. Then there is Tom Hynes, a really pompous, arrogant asshole. Danny Boy was handed the office of Illinois Comptroller. It stretches the imagination to think that all three members of the LSC didn’t get illegal help from their ward organizations. Ward workers didn’t answer phones and perform various sundry duties for their campaigns while collecting government checks. I don’t think so.

Your post makes no sense. President Bush is a republican. U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald was appointed by a republican senator. Nothing is going to happen because the mayor and president are sons of former chief executives. They're cut from the same cloth. They identify with one another. Leave Sen. Obama out of it. I know you're trying to pin something on him,but this you cannot.
