As a student back in the '70s, I once rode an elevator with Walter Jacobsen. We hadn't gotten between floors before I had the overpowering urge to choke the crap out of him. What an arrogant ignoramus.

Interesting. A PO locks up a media person and he is an asshole. yet the media beats us up every day, with stories and video. Why should walter get a break when involved in a accident? WTF...I know there's not any real police work to be done in 018, at least you can try and get the media for the rest of us. Rough week in 002 and the media reports false accusations of brutality as truths. Do something!!!! For the rest of us out there working.

When my dad was a desk cop in 18, years ago. Skippy was due to report the 10 pm bews and some lowly police officer pulled him over for drunk driving. Of course, Skippy was shooting off his mouth telling the officer he would have his badge, if he didn't let him go. After all, he had a job to get to drunk or not.
The officer brought him into the station and he threatened my dad and the lock up cop, telling them he would have their badges. He told them that they didn't know who they were messing with.
Needless to say, these fine officers, booked him and locked him up, forcing him to miss the 10 pm channel 2 broadcast. Nothing happened to the officers. That was when police were allowed to police. The good old days.
Skippy has a habit of driving drunk. So good for the officer that locked his sorry ass up. It's not the first time, and probably won't be the last. All talking faces and any citizen (including police and firemen) should be locked up for driving drunk. If you can afford to drink call a cab.

To the poster who badmouthed Amy Jacobsen, you should have read a little closer when she was fired. She was not fired for going to a pool party, she was fired for cooperating with police. On 2 prior occasions she had shared information with police that she learned from Stebic, without reporting on the information or telling station management. Jacobsen was fired because she had lost her "journalistic objectivity" by helping police. Ch 5 was willing defend her for the pool party, but not for helping police.

Are you serious? YOU make me proud I LEFT 018. If the media wants to blast us every chance they get, then I see absolutely no reason to be holding each and every one of them to the letter of the law. I'll shake this coppers hand any day. Its coppers like the one that wrote the DUI that make me proud I was a part of 018 for as long as I was.
And as far as the LT showing up, Kudos to her for getting there to witness that everything was done correctly. Just another nail in the coffin for Skippy's DUI report.

Walter I did not know you posted on SCC. For your information, garage or not he is still DUI. Having control of the vehicle is enough. Who cares if he was IN the garage.

He LEFT the scene of his so-called minor accident. What if you came out of your house in the morning to find your car SLIGHTLY? dented. Also a citizen CALLED and stated that an erradic driver just hit a parked car and the driver looks like WALTER JACOBSON. Great police work if we let him slide, right? Back in the 1970s, Mike Royko provided great entertainment for the guys in 016 when he defecated in his pants in the lock-up after getting a 501. Remember, reporters must be taught that they are not above the law.

If I remember correctly in the early 70's when I was in 018 Wally had a suspended license. One of the good guys on our watch (now deceased) used to see Wally driving to the CBS studios on McClurg Ct regularly. He would TVB Wally every time. It was great theater. Whenever he was asked why he'd constantly TVB him he replied in his own inevitable way "Fuck him, he does it to us whenever he can". Ah the good old days. The media are NOT your friends.
