It's the single biggest cost savings the mayor and his people are going to get from the Department. Aside from not hiring anyone to replace the 700 retirements dating back to last year.

Let's see the city pays a Commander, 3 Captains, numerous Lieutenants and Sgt's in a district and/or unit to supervise, and the department has to not only pay someone but gives him/her a city car to duplicate what can be done in 5 minutes.

I registered a couple of my vehicles out of state. The Mayor can have his city sticker. I now park across the street from the station and enjoy the lowered cost of ownership. Lowered plate fees, no city stickers, and insurance rates that are half of what they would charge me here.

I think they should get rid of inspectors, as an unnecessary expense. But I'm sorry. You should have your stickers both city and state, no tint on th front side windows and no smoked plastic over your plate. No BS excuses. I've had problems in the past but if you take care of these things right away, you have plenty of time to get them fixed. We look like S**T when we don't have our stuff together but we expect the citizens to.

Getting your city sticker for your car is your reponsibility. Don't blame the clerks office for not sending yours out. (You've seen the hacks that work there) Never got mine, so I just filled out a new one, enough said.
Get a day. Who are they going to man the cars with? They're running 99 units and downing cars all over the place as it is. If we do take a day hopefully we can get it on a weekend because it's the only way you're going to get one off.

City stickers anywhere from $75 to $140 per vehicle. Chicago sucks. Just over the border in a lot of the south suburbs, city stickers range from $5 to $25 per vehicle. It's robbery if you ask me.

That's pretty freakin' sweet!
You can save some big dough and buy one on 26th street for $10 bucks. They are high quality duplicates and no inspector will be able to catch it.
They even have them with several different numbers so you can buy them for the whole family and save a bundle.
Truck stickers? No problemo, all are on sale, and the price is right.
This happens every year and the dept. of revenue goes crazy trying to stop it, and they NEVER have!
Blagojevich: Chicago May Need National Guard Help
With gun violence at a crisis, Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Wednesday said he is in talks with Illinois State Police and the Illinois National Guard to see if more police officers can be deployed to the streets of Chicago.
The governor said Chicago Mayor Richard Daley hasn't asked for help, but Blagojevich says he'll call the mayor once he has some concrete suggestions about what help he can provide.
Blagojevich didn't have many specifics, but he said it's more likely that state police will be brought in than the National Guard.
Blagojevich also said there are a lot of retired Chicago police officers and state police troopers who could be rehired for the summer.

One case in specific involves a nurse talking a little to much to her sgt. husband....WHO TALKS WAY TO MUCH HIMSELF....
What is going on is a direct violation of H.I.P.P.A., which every member of the medical section is trained on their first day of assignment....
So a word to the wise....If you hear any gossip, and someone claims they got it from someone at the medical section, DO NOT treat it as intel, call the gossiper on it, remind them of H.I.P.P.A., and strongly urge them to remind the source of their gossip to keep their flipping mouths shut....
The next person they talk about may be you, lets stop this breach of trust....

that is shear genius! I take the free train to work every day park both my trucks (expensive stickers) in my car and never park on city streets... hell, I dont patronize this city for anything anyways... fuck this place!

Maybe you can scan your friends money and use that to pay for the sticker and late fee. Not really sure what the penalty is for a false sticker, but I'd bet its a little more than not having one.

A Hanover Park man charged with spitting at an umpire Sunday at a youth baseball game in Downers Grove was released Monday from the DuPage County Jail after posting $25,000 bail.
Michael Beck, 47, was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct by Downers Grove police after he became disruptive, Assistant State's Atty. Thomas O'Connor told Judge Elizabeth Sexton. Beck continued to yell, swear and make gestures at the umpire at the game, in which his child was playing, O'Connor said.
Beck was arrested after spitting sunflower seeds at the umpire and wouldn't comply with police officers' instructions at the game in Sunset Park, the police report said.
QUESTION:
Can you imagine getting felony aggravated battery charges approved in Cook County for “spitting sunflower seeds?”
What are the Commanders doing to improve morale? Anything? Are there any decent Watch Commanders left. It seems Watch Commanders are denying time off, no breaks are given, no attaboys for good work. Do any of the bosses care? Are there any bosses that are out there with the troops? I will work hard for a boss that is out there with me and treats me like Im family. But I think Im just in Kansas.

So I was watching the ABC Channel 7news at 5:00 P.M. when veteran reporter Charles Thomas did a little piece on Starbucks. You see, Starbucks, in a corporate restructuring is apparently closing some 50 stores nationwide. One of those stores is in Country Club Hills on 167th Street. Thomas went there and interviewed some patrons who enjoy the product that Starbucks has to offer and expressed disappointment at the closing. Thomas then relocated to Tinley Park where there are actually two Starbucks within a few blocks of each other.
As I watched this innocuous fluff piece, I sensed that it was going to go racial. And why? Because Tinley Park is predominately white whereas Country Club Hills, former home of local treasure Gary Dotson, is predominately black. I was not disappointed. Yes, Thomas pointed out that Country Club Hills has a large African-American population. He then stated that Starbucks officials informed him that the closings were based on several factors, including, but not limited to: profitability.
Well there’s a surprise: the corporate office is closing stores that don’t make money! Duh. Nevertheless, Thomas did raise the specter of racism by implication. I guess Thomas doesn’t realize that corporations see one color – green – when it comes to making decisions on its stores. Further, I presume that Thomas didn’t realize that Country Club Hills was black before the Starbucks went in. I guess Thomas never considered the fact that Starbucks was willing to invest in the infrastructure of a suburb with a large black population just by building the store there.
Of course, that would have ruined the angle of Thomas’ piece. Once again, the media is race baiting. After all, racially sparked topics are controversial and generate ratings. The bottom line is this: This country will never conquer racism or the elements emanating from such an ideology when segments of society in positions of responsibility encourage people to cling to such beliefs. The media will never let it go.
Whether it’s Charles Thomas or Mary Mitchell or the storefront reverend of the month, racism can be a profitable cause. What would these people have to do if they could not cling to the race card?
In homage to Amos and Andrew (Nicholas Cage/Samuel Jackson movie), I guess if they are out of cold beer at the liquor store, racism is to blame.

So, to recap.... city gives us a cut so we work more, so the city gets more revenue, it costs the city ZERO, and its all on camera so beefs will be squashed. Hmm. LOW risk, ZERO cost, HIGH reward. Good luck next year. The city plans to close that location and move to Archer and Laramie. The State License office will no longer exist as the city is not including them in the lease at the new location.

Hey 07/16/08 11:04p.m. ..The reason you don't see State Police on the expressways is because there aren't any. The State Police are in the same boat as CPD. Take I-55 and I-290..2 Troopers patrol each e-way from downtown out to the county line...10 years ago there were 5 Troopers on each expressway. Now when one or both Troopers make an arrest..you guessed it...either one or none are left to patrol interstates which have thousands and thousands of vehicles on them. You want to talk about officer safety??? The mutts that live in these shithole Chicago neighborhoods are the same ones ridin dirty on the expressways. Suspended license..smoking dope..guns..warrants..no surprise to Troopers..they deal with the same animal you do. I work in 023, the place to be if your in patrol. Back in May on Friday the District held Police Officer Appreciation Day sponsored by 23rd District businesses. This asshole big Bird shows up at 1st Watch check off and writes up some coppers then wtites up some coppers on 2nd Watch. This occured while quite a number of businesses donated food, products, etc... to our officers while this guy was writing up coppers. Could he not wait 1 day to do this ? This guy is a total jag!!! Do not write of ISP so quickly. They do not have any of the problems we have. Yes, at first they had culture shock but quickly recovered and performa great job working 99 units. They handle crime every day across the state just like every other department. Why attack each other when the real enemy are white shirts and the mayor. Big Bird is a piece of S%$#. I have never in my law enforcement career seen such a jag who is a cop and loves sticking it too other cops. I have no problem with the department enforcing rules and attempting to keep this department professional (which is hard to do when you look around and see the characters who work in this department). I have seen this guy in action when dealing with citizens & criminals and he is a pussy. He totally backs down from them. Hopefully he is retiring soon and for his own sake he should move far away from Chicago. Because, if he doesn't, any copper with any sense about what Big Bird stands for should write his ass a ticket for any little violation possible, or DUI his ass if he gets caught driving drunk. No one was down, everyone was clear and ready for assignment, but Big Bird writes them all up. Enter Bob "Beldar Conehead" Kohnen the shakiest Lt. on the North Side. This lunatic not only cocurrs w/ Big Bird but gives the Sgt. and PO a day each since they compromised "beat integrity" etc... This very same Lt. Conehead worked a beat car with the Sgt. he wrote when they were both PO's together. So beware if your in a situation involving Bob "BeldarConehead" Kohnen run the other way he is absolutely dangerous.

yeah if you only have 8 years left why the fuck werent you in alow risk? If you lost all of your gains you must have been high risk... you should have left high risk about 2 or 3 years ago... you arent totally screwed but will have to ride it out now as if you dont have 8 years left... buy buy buy low and hope it rebounds within 8 years (it should) but it is risky and nerve racking to say the least!
Let's see if I understand this. Inspectors are useless, a waste of money. Their job can be handled by the W/C, the Lt. and the sergeants assigned to the district. Makes sense. Then when a sergeant does exactly that, the sergeant is a JO. hey if you have one, why do you care if your neighbors dont.
if your going to beef or complain about the tickets on your blockk,
why not say hey 16 coppers show the city what power we have , and refrain from writing tickets.

I remember (now Inspector Barry) from public housing in the mid 90's he was then as he is now a stand up policeman. Even as an Inspector he still comes up on the air and rides on jobs half the time getting there before the beat car and gives a code. He is a friend of the working policeman and still deserves to be called boss. Mr. Big Bird on the other hand is a complete and total JAGOFF!!! Asshole shows up on CHRISTMAS to cruise the lot and shows up to roll call!!

Wow...big shock, the so called "real police" slamming a guy from 016 for writing city sticker tickets. Go fuck yourself ! I would have the same attitude. I had to buy 3 stickers. Tell your neighbors to buy their stickers...you bought yours, didn't you ? Maybe, just maybe, one of your other neighbors bought all of their stickers and was upset that the neighbors didn't fork over a couple hundred bucks for some stickers and made a call. I don't blame him one bit. Lemme guess, you are the guy that tells your neighbors to use your name if they ever get stopped, right ? Lemme know what street you are on and I will gladly point any infractions to a beat car from 016. I don't see generating any revenue for the city, but, city sticker tickets are a matter of principle.
