More Dead Students
We'll be hearing about these for a while:
- A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in the face and another man was wounded following a shooting early Sunday in the Far South Side's Pullman neighborhood.
- A 15-year-old West Side boy was fatally shot during a fight Saturday night in the Little Village neighborhood.
Early Sunday in the first story means 1 or 2 am - well past curfew. Nothing good has ever happened that early in the morning, and we're including the troll or trollop someone took home after a dozen beers. The second shooting appears to be a straight up gang killing.
But when Daley needs his publicity shots, the media will show an empty chair or desk in Soldier Field surrounded by a few thousand students Arne Duncan bused in for the crass political purpose of Daley's anti-gun agenda.

I work with some really great people, matched by none I have met before. I also consider myself a pretty good person. The fact we put our asses on the line for people that usually disrespect us is pretty amazing and/or stupid. I'm really not sure why I keep doing it. If we don't get some respect with a nice raise in our next contract and a better schedule, I'm out.
This will all be a disant memory come November. When Obama is President there will be no more violence and every student will have their own unicorn to ride to school.

I am sadened by the loss of future overtime these two would have provided. That being said Its easier to write a report for an Agg Batt or murder than it is to get CR#'s or sued or indicted because you patted some gangbanger down to stop the shooting before it happened. I never thought I would say this but all the old timers who dog it are right go home to your family healthy and never worry about the BS in the ghetto. With thousands of people on the ground, officers running all over with no plan of action, that chopper was absolutely useless (if it was suppose to be a spotting vehicle). Maybe it was a tourist attraction?
The officers looked bewildered as to what they were suppose to do, or how to do it.
In years past, most of that crowd would have been stopped blocks before entering the taste grounds. And wagons would have been placed everywhere for prisoners so you would not have to drag them through the crowd.
Our New Chiefs have a lot to learn from our past mistakes!

The police can't save the savages from themselves. They will continue to destroy each other and prey on hard-working people who have what they want. Unfortunately, things will only get worse. The leaders of this department and this city are so distracted by their witch hunts for a few rogue officers that they can't see how they have paralyzed their own police force. Little by little, every officer has in some way begun to fade into the background so as not to put himself in the media spotlight. Doing good proactive policework often puts officers in a position to be attacked by media and hungry lawyers looking to make an easy settlement. Now our administration has made it crystal clear that they are afraid to defend their officers, and fear the police- hating biased news coverage that inevitably follows any major incident. Do not expect that things will change for the better anytime soon.

I was very upset to learn that they cancelled time due for the day of the Bud Biliken parade. My associates and I had planned to enter a float in the parade depicting all the wonderful contributions that our south and westside neighbors have contributed in the last twenty years since the days of civil rights. Our float was going to honor: Tu-Pac, Scarface (another fictional hero of the communty- a Cuban dope dealer portrayed by an Italian), Olde English, Crack, Baby Mama drama, respect (or the lack of same), really loud music, and a statute of "The Man" (modeled after MT of the academy keeping a "Brother" (modeled after Jesse Jackson) down. Oh well, next year I will take my furlough during this time and the theme of our float with be the joys Section 8 has brought to the formerly crime free areas of the city.

It is a horrific waste of life to have young children tragically murdered by gang bangers who are mislead into a subculture of criminal enterprise, hate, greed and jealously.
Most of these senseless killings could have been prevented if only da mayor and alderman would initiate the hiring of the proper balance of police officers, detectives and supervisors needed to effectively protect and serve the citizens of this city.
We need competent and knowledgeable police managers who are leaders!
We need a superintendent who is experienced, knowledgeable and tested as a law enforcement professional.
We need commonsense policies and procedures to manage an organization that has been historically dysfunctional, ineffective and unwilling to change were change is needed the most.
Our citizens need to rise up to the occasion and send a clear and unmistakable message to career politicians that they must support honest hard working police officers and provide them with the necessary resources to get the job done!
If necessary, as a citizen you must demand accountability of your elected officials. As that citizen you must act accordingly within the law.
ALWAYS remember which elected officials who fail or refused to help and support working police officers.
To be honest NONE of them have supported the police in the way that is most needed as evidence of recent scandals, lack of creditability when hiring a superintendent and placement of incompetent political hacks as police managers who are in charge of your safety.
The fate of all our children is at stake, their future is in our hands, even if only one child's life could be saved your effort could make all the difference in the world.
Remember all these politicians and vote them out of office! You only see and hear from them around election time when their cronies come a knocking on your door once every four years- asking for your vote. Tell them that their arrogance and ignorance has allowed the criminal element to win by victimizing our city!
I have spent my entire career protecting and serving the people of Chicago. I never asked for anything in return. But, now I need your help! Please if not for me for someone else you love.
We can't allow one more innocent child to be murdered in our streets while these insane politicians argue about what to do with the police department. If they have to ask that question then THEY DON'T DESERVE TO REPRESENT THE HONEST PEOPLE OF CHICAGO!
oh well.....tax payer money saved in: LINK cards, medical coverage, court costs, incarceration costs, cost from them reproducing, SSI, any costs from them damaging property, ----money saved!!!!
