Big Story? Or Not?
This would appear to be a huge story on its face:
- After Monday night's heavy storms caused water pumps to flood, areas in the South Side of the city could face a higher risk of flooding should another heavy storm strike.
The broken pumping station puts a chunk of the city from Roosevelt Road to 87th Street and from Racine Avenue to the lakefront at a higher risk of flooding should another storm come through Chicago before repairs can be made, officials said.
It was unclear when the pumps would be completely repaired. The city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications said there was no need for alarm, but alerted residents to several measures they could take in case a storm should strike.
Sun Times coverage here.
Chicago is built on a lot of landfill. This place was a mostly uninhabitable swamp and marshland at one point. Engineers had to reverse the course of an entire river at one point and a crazy boat captain created an independent "United States District of Lake Michigan" when he ran his boat aground and invited people to dump refuse around it, creating an island, later named "Streeterville." Chicago is a damp place with a unique history.
Fourteen pumps failing at one location would appear to be a disaster of immense proportions. The fact that the Department is restricting time off would lead one to believe the someone somewhere has tipped the powers-that-be that this is no run-of-the-mill problem.
We're just wondering if Daley was saving money for the Olympics by shorting the Water Department's pump maintenance budget.

Holy Pump Me Up Batman!!!
It doesn't seem like an emergency since everyone is aware of a potential problem that hasn't happen yet. Just like Katrina everyone knew one day something could happen. canceling time due? How about using the TRU Unit?
The new cruisers will help the citizens evacuate once the flooding begins...vroooom vroooom
FOP web page is asking us to help design the new cruisers. This Weis guy is all about keeping morale up. GO JODY !
Speaking of flooding.... on Monday after the storm there was heavy flooding of the basement and lower level of O'hare Airport. The news media never reported it. The sub-basement started flooding and the city tried to pump it out themselves for over 2 hours before they called for help. When the FD arrived the water was 4 feet deep in one section and threatening to reach the some power boxes and a transformer. The water was within inches of a main transformer(very large) the if the water contacted the unit it not only would have put the power out for half the airport it would have (as the Con-ed person said) exploded killing everybody down in the area. Kass's buddy the generator delivery man was there on scene.
The drains were all pushing water up into the room, in effect making the pumping a waste of time. After a couple of hours suddenly all the drains started to work and the water started to go down. Don't tell me that somewhere somebody got the word to open a valve somewhere. You'd think that they would probably plan ahead for something like that instead of worrying whether or not some big-wig has power to his house.
Oh and the excuse of that somebody in the house need oxygen..... isn't an oxygen tank no matter how big just a matter of turning a valve not plugging in a cord?
Remember to do a good job and help people. You will be noticed and promoted. Ancient Chinese Proverb on fortune cookie I read at Chinatown Cafe.
Two people contradicted me about the City's sewer lines being a gravity-fed system, but I am still 99% sure that the pumps that people are speaking of actually belong to our Water Reclamation District not the City of Chicago.
A quote from the Slum-Times article would appear to reinforce this idea:
Metropolitan Water Reclamation District spokeswoman Jill Horist said that with only a quarter inch of rain predicted for the weekend and at least two pumps expected to be back on line Monday, the district is "reasonably confident that all should be fine."
If I am not mistaken, then you may want to think twice about this so-called licensed plumber who is ready to "serve & protect" the entire South side.
Please tell shavedlongc*ck to give up blogging and to clear up some crime in Area 2 like the City is paying him to do. What a goof.
Atleast I see Oak Lawn doing real police work. EVERGREEN is a joke.
Start evacuating, people! Head west, to Maywood! Better yet, head east!
To keep your weed and rocks and blows dry, smoke them while still INSIDE the plastic baggies...leaves a little aftertaste, but still good.
of topic but can some TRU officers tell me why your locking up your head a day- what benefits do you have at TRU- I see you in uniform and working in different districts every night and doesn't seem much of a perc. Do you guys get percs or is it being in a unit you like- help me out with this !
off topic. Another good article by john kass. He's right. They mayor has to give this guy whatever he wants, if the mayor wants this guy to keep his mouth shut...
I love that not only is time due being canceled but "it is recommended officer's purchase firemen type boots".
Surely you must be kidding....
Oh, they're not, but don't call 'em shirley.
Now all we need is for the stuttering prick to announce that Chicago is a chocolate city, and for a worthless Democrat stroke governor to show total incompetence in the face of an emergency.
It'll never happen.
14 PUMPS FAILING AT ONE LOCATION AT ONE TIME ????....i KIND OF DOUBT THAT. SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM TO ME.
Da pumps, da pumps, da pumps ain't working. We don't need no pumps, let the mutha-fu**a flood! Flood Mutha-fu**a, flood, flooood!
Hey man, it's like Katrina and shi*.
Of course he was. The "Pharroh" is intent on building his legacy. Fixing the pumps will not get him there. Bringing the Olympics to Shitcago will certainly put him in the history books.
Pharroh Idiot should try to add a new competition to the Games. Assemble warring gangs & arm them with shotguns, loaded with #00 buckshot. 5 hours before the start, let them have their fill of 40ozers & Night Train. Get the fuck-head revs to be refs, and let them have at it. Make sure that Jesse Jagoff is allowed to control the arms/ammo sales so he can make a huge profit. Get all the appropriate Funeral homes in line to bid on the losers remains. At the end of the competion, award all the survivors unlimited 40 oz malt liquor & Night train. Jagoff Jesse's son will be awarded the contract to supply the affair.
The midget will then only have one month with high homicide rates. There won't be many combantants left.
The Chicago Board of Education can then start Pre-Scool Classes for all the under 50 yr old survivors.
SABOTAGE?
All this is B.S. not enough manpower so they're using the pumps, billiken, taste, venetian, and the rest of ethnic festivals to deny our earned time.
Maybe Daley wants Roosevelt Road to 87th Street and from Racine Avenue to the lakefront for the Olympics!
talk to any operating engineer and they will tell you that the first thing the bean counters cut is routeen maintainance.
I think those pumps are run by the Water Reclamation District, a separate taxing body. No doubt, the little guy has his hand in the till there, but you can't blame this one directly on him.
"a worthless Democrat stroke governor"
As opposed to a convicted felon Currently incarcerated Republiclwn Governor?
Clarify that for us would you?
"Maybe Daley wants Roosevelt Road to 87th Street and from Racine Avenue to the lakefront for the Olympics!

As Diabolical as that may sound, it does have a ring of truth to it.
Could John Kass perhaps shine a little light on that?
Right now I'm glad I didn't buy South
To 8/10/2008 12:31:00 AM
Those oxygen tanks need to be refilled continually ---a machine in the patient's home(run on electricity) pulls oxygen out of the air and pumps it into the tank---hopefully no one you know will ever need that equipment "no matter how big"
Just got the order--time due restricted until this is cleared up.
Oh Jebus. Just what we need - one more excuse to loot the city during a flood disaster.

They were purchased from the Vaneko Pump Company in Bridgeport, Walsh Construction will get the contract to fix the disaster and clean up the mess in a no-bid contract voted on in a closed door session of the Finance Committee and a Water Department employee who don't know no one will take the blame for fucking things up so much.
The stuttering prick will be foaming at the mouth, struck dumb and begin saying "It's Silly" over and over again. Daley's son Patrick and his cousin will get $124 million of our pension money to build low cost housing in the flooded areas once the clean up work is completed.
David "Pool Boy" Ochal will resurface as a Walsh Construction Company boss on the job due to his experience at handling floods.
The Inspector General will send in a platoon of ex-FBI agents who will find that their positions have been cut out of the budget due to a budget shortfall. "Get used to it" the stuttering prick will proclaim.
John Kass will write some articles and Robert Sorich will get out of jail and will be appointed Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Aviation at O'hare Airport.
We will still, however, be without a contract.
It's this dream I keep having, Groundhog Day all the time.

Evergreen Park has a lot of decent people working for them. You wouldn't, by chance, be our recent honor roll student picked up for DUI and mother fu%&*ng the police trying to give you a break? If so, I don't care if you are the police, you don't deserve a play.
Everybody stop slamming Bernie Mac. A local lad, good man, liked the police, funny guy.
Comments like that? Just sad. Really, pathetic.
RIP Bernie. You made me laugh. Belly up to the big buffet in they sky now funnyman. The lobster is awesome there.

because TRU-tards are the biggest yes-men in this f'ing department! While everyone else is not doing shit, especially in light of the fact Shortshanks wants us to take a pay cut and refuses to give us a contract, yet the TRU-tards refuse to go along with this! It is union busting at its best! TRU-tards are nothing more than scabs!!! So thanks, TRU-tards... thanks for undermining the effort because you are afraid to stand up to your wgite shirt, say "Sorry, sarge, nothing personal" like the rest of us are doing! Hell, if we would all stand together and run the numbers into the ground, while watching crime soar maybe, just maybe shortshanks would take notice... but nooooooooooo TRU-tards gotta keep bringing in the heads bringing in the heads! WHY??? PLEASE someone over there fill the rest of us in! WHY THE FUCK DONT YOU TRU-TARDS GET IT? STOP BEING YES MEN AND MAYBE WE WILL ALL GET A DECENT CONTRACT!!! In the mean, time, FUCK YOU TRU-TARDS!
Chicago should have never been built on a swamp or a wetland. Unfortunaley, they didn't have environmental impact statements. At one point, Galena and Galesburg were the centers of commerce, industry and population in Illinois---with good reason.
Hey can anyone tell me why nobody isn't doing anything anymore? lol... J-k, they told us in roll call to buy rubber boots.
Guess what? If my basement floods, AWOP me. Im going home to save my stuff.
I know someone that works for the water plant and if they had someone manning that station to turn on the pump there would had not have been a problem at all. Seems like the water dept is not hiring and trying to save money. This disater will cost around 22 million to fix (14 feet of water). All they needed in the first place was one guy working there to watch the pumps.
roll call in 015 we where read that it was highly recomended to purchase our own rubber ducky.
Here's a hint....all the short cops on the south-east side, bid out now! Run for your lives!!!
If the worst happens, we will see Richie out there telling everyone that it is not his fault, the Olympic will make us better while he is standing in knee deep water. He will be standing on the shoulders on his body guards wearing scuba gear.
The perc that TRU is getting right now is, make an arrest and go home.
He is not fixing sewers that are caved in maybe he needs more envelopes in his pocket! daley is the worst mayor in history and his daddy must be spinning in his grave seeing what a goof his son has become! daley=criminalinc!!

2 weeks ago 1 pump failed. It was disassembled and sent out for repair. The repair contractor plugged the inlet pipe with a rather large thick piece of sheet steel but didn't bolt it in completely. The other day all of the bolts failed and sent crap everywhere in the pumping station. There is mass panic at Water Reclamation. All department heads citywide are on standby if any thing happens. (The Water Reclamation Boss resigned already)
The city already went and purchased 3 million bottles of water in case anything happens. In the words of one who knows: This has the potential of being a disaster larger than the great chicago fire.
Is your personal disaster plan made?
All of the raw sewage emanates from the 5th floor of City Hall.
I love that not only is time due being canceled ...

I agree that this situation sounds like a bunch of BS but the fax said time was RESTRICTED and required EXEMPT approval NOT CANCELED.
Was that 43B I just saw at the White Sox game with half of 43B23?
Hey I thought I was seeing things on T.V. That was 43B at the game. A little afternoon date Ha?
It would be the 1st bath most south siders have taken in years. Let it rain!!!
I know what Richie is trying to do....He is trying to get his developer/campaign contributors a deal on the land to create a Venice in America.
No cars here, Gondolas and Water Taxis. In winter, people could ice skate to work like they do on the canals of Holland. The Olympics will have the rowing competitions on Halsted Street. Can I interest you in a waterfront condo, on South Michigan Avenue?
Could this affect Daley's current residence? What if he still lived in Bridgeport?
Bernie Mac, now Isaac Hayes, who next? They say it comes in threes. Come to think of it, I am not feeling so good! I am speed-dialing my Doctor as I write!
43B's better half is hispanic, maybe it was her. I know they go to a lot of White sox games.
Why dont we say Daniel Burnham was a jagoff too while we're at it.

we dont have cruisers in chicago STOP SAYING CRUISERS
I want to know why it is on us to supply our own boots, when the city screwed this up. We are gonna be sent to "protect" and control people over there when the shit literally comes out of the ground and they aren't gonna issue us boots. This is just silly...silly
Don't worry, Richie the Rodent will be back from Beijing soon, to straighten everything out.
Check out the following column on Mike's case by JOHN CARLSON in today's (Sunday) DesMoines Register. The Register is the largest circulation newspaper in Iowa.

no wonder they were scrambling for portable pumps last week. and we dont have any that work.

Here's an idea ENOUGH OF THE FLOWERS & SEGWAYS & FRENCH BUSSTOPS and how about the C.F.D. commisary providing us the boots.Wait," that will cost too much you say".This is officially the gayest city in the world. We are more worried about how we look than how we are.

As a former P.O. MWRD screwed the pooch on this one. I was at the plant they have an 8ft sewer pipe coming in the plant that was out of service on Monday, they failed to put a flange in place with the proper number of bolts 8 instead of 150 and it blew the flange across the room (300ft) 12 ft of water took out the motors that drive the pumps. 1/4 inch of rain 30,000 screwed. As for the mayor they are in court against each other now MWRD don't like him. Screwing the entire city is a little much for pay back. MWRD is the king of clout Chicago could take lessons from these boys
Hey U either have CLOUT or U dont! So jackasses just stick to picking the new cruiser designand fell like U have some power.LoL
We are so used to walking knee deep in shit it's no big deal.

Unlike you TOOLS, we get to work for some of the BEST Sergeants and Lieutenants in the department. Keep answering your bullshit domestics and handling 5 car traffic accidents and we will just keep doing what we do (like you know what that is). Make sure you get in your 30 min lunch and 15 min personnel asshat.
ANY UNIT OUT OF PATROL IS A GOOD UNIT DICKWAD
Put everyone on yellow school buses and evacuate them.
Oh sorry, that was Katrina and it's too late, well maybe next time.
Are day people still 99 on the 10 hr. gig????? Imagine sitting in a car for 10 hrs with some of the retards we work with????
OT - I have to say, the only thing better than watching John Edwards getting caught lying to the American public, would have been if those National Enquirer reporters had a video camera when they confronted him in the Hilton. It is reported that he ran into a bathroom and held the door shut. Man, that shit would have been just like "Cheaters", only better.
Oh, and kudos to Obama for being "on vacation" when this story broke. Daley has taught him too well. He is Chicago, through and through!
Is Daley trying to flood them out and condemn all of the homes in that area? Since he can't afford to purchase those homes in order to make his olympic village, he may as well flood them out, condemn the homes, let the insurance companies pay & he gets the land.
Friend of mine works for the city was called out yesterday afternoon due to several watermain breaks.
Buy rubber boots my ass! You delve into the shit of 20 million people
The city already went and purchased 3 million bottles of water in case anything happens. In the words of one who knows: This has the potential of being a disaster larger than the great chicago fire
Did the city buy the water in the city or go outside of the city? Inquiring minds want to know...

Maybe it was supposed to be Morgan Freeman, but he cheated Death!
Off Topic, but this comment needs to be placed where it can be read by all your readers.
Your contract:
Please do not fall for the gimmicks being offered to buy your "loyalty," such as new color schemes for our squads, new Tahoes, etc. The city can find money for this stuff, but cannot find money for your contract? Come on guys and gals, wake up! What is wrong with our current color scheme? How much is it going to cost to redo all the Department's vehicles?
Recently, an Order came out wherein Overtime for CAPS was canceled. I'm sure soon you will see all Overtime canceled, because of the budget, except for court related Overtime. But, the Department keeps creating new positions. Just announced, a Personal Assistant position was assigned to the Bureau of Strategic Deployment. Come on people! A Personal Assistant!
In addition to the new Personal Assistant, the Bureau of Strategic Deployment has a Deputy Superintendent, an Assistant Deputy Superintendent, a Chief of Homeland Security, and a Deputy Chief of Homeland Security.
The Department has 2 CAPS Exempts: Chief of CAPS, and the Director of CAPS Implementation, who by the way, should be in jail because of his involvement with the GD's. Why do we need 2 Exempts doing essentially the same thing? We have a Superintendent's Policy Group. Why can't Research and Development handle policy suggestions; after all, policy falls under their purvue. In IAD, there is a Chief, and a Director of Investigations, which will soon be filled by another FBI Special Agent who recently retired. Look at the Personnel Division, a civilian heads Personnel now. Also, the Department has a Director of Marketing; again, isn't this a responsibility of Research and Development? If these new spots and some existing spots were eliminated, think of the savings that could be used for your contract. At the very least, you are talking about 2 million dollars.
Let me talk about morale. They want you to be aggressive, yet you are told you will be fired if you disclose an illegal aliens status. They have already proven that they will go after you in other ways if the Cook County justice system doesn't suffice. Also, they tell you they have your back, but what does the Supt do, he hires an FBI Special Agent to be Director of Investigations in IAD. What message is this sending?
Nepotism. The Supt said at one of his first meetings that he was going to eliminate clout on the job, but what does he do, he hires his Best Man, and another Fed, and now another Fed. If you really need these positions, how about filling them with officers from within our ranks. You mean that you couldn't find people qualified within our ranks instead of going outside the Department. A slap in your faces. Outsiders: Deputy Superintendent of Professional Standards, Chief of Homeland Security, Director of Investigations for IAD, Director of Marketing, Director of Petrsonnel. Not one person within our ranks is qualified to fill these spots?
Getting rid of good bosses before you even got to know them. Hiram Grau - had the trust of the rank and file - was part of the Violence Reduction Initatives that worked! John Risley - knew how to handle major events - also part of the Violence Reduction Initiatives that worked. Michael Chasen - like him or not, he was the right man for police shootings. George Rosebrock - held 019 up to standards. Yes the other dumps were on target: Kohlman - O'Donnell - Chizewski. How about the fact that the Cmdr of Management and Labor Affairs was inept but was laterally moved.
M. Bonds. Terrible representative of the Department. Has done more damage than good.
Manpower. How about assigning SWAT members to Districts on all three watches. Provide them with cell phones. If a call comes out, you already have SWAT personnel working who can respond from their assigned Districts within minutes. More manpower and less time waiting for SWAT to assemble.
Time Due. Watch Commanders are looking at your activity to base whether or not to approve your time off. They are playing favorites as well.
Guys and Gals, this is just a few things you need to look at. Keep doing what you are doing. It is not worth loosing your job. To the FOP, you should seriously look at a no-confidence vote.
who is 43B???
IT'S TRUE!
In 021 Commander Doty in a CO Book Message to each and every Roll Call informed officers that ALL Time Due Request will be canceled and denied due to a potential flood.
Off topic; Editorial in Sun Times today, slamming police for violating the 'spirit of the sanctuary city'.
"Misguided detentions
August 10, 2008
If Chicago is a "sanctuary city" -- city employees are prohibited from enforcing federal immigration laws -- then how did 59 motorists arrested by police for traffic violations and other misdemeanors get caught by immigration officials?
At a City Council Human Relations Committee hearing last week, several aldermen demanded answers.
Are city police or county prosecutors turning immigrants in?
There is no evidence so far to support this.
Three federal immigration agents, stationed at the county courthouse, review the arrest reports and court records of suspects, which are public records. So with the masses of people charged every day, how do they determine who might be here illegally or not?
Cook County Commissioner Roberto Maldonado alleges immigration officials use racial profiling by picking on people with Latino last names. Immigration officials deny this and say they only investigate a person who indicates he or she was born outside of the United States.
If it is determined that an immigrant is here illegally, immigration puts a hold on them for eventual removal. While perfectly legal, this at least violates the spirit of sanctuary.
We recognize immigration officials need to do their jobs, and they are using information collected by city and county officials that wind up in the public purview. But their focus is misplaced. Is it really in the public interest to go after illegal immigrants arrested for driving without a license (they can't get one legally, anyway) and then detain them at taxpayers' expense?
We don't think so. We agree the feds should detain illegal immigrants who are felons, and once they serve their time they should be deported. Overall, though, we believe the matter illustrates how until we have comprehensive immigration reform, our immigration polices will continue to be misdirected."

Several of us have already responded on their webpage, and this morning I sat next to a friend who first called to cancel his subscription to the Sun Times, then wrote a scathing letter to the editor explaining WHY he did so. (Look for it in print; he sent it TO the editor.)
Remember, it's not SCC, so if you post there, keep it clean and keep it calm. We're battering them with cold logic and simple points of legality. And it seems the response is 100% pro-police, up to now. And to those CPD who've already posted there, some of those posts are EXCELLENT. Send them directly to the editor, instead of to the web forum.
Kinda of funny the other day not one day off granted (010 on Saturday 3rd watch) for the parade. And they were still 7 cars down and there hasn't been an opening in 4 1/2 years and only 4 po's on furlo and a couple of cps'ers shot. Let the city burn the powers that be want it that way.
How did the manpower look in the other districts look on Sat w/ no time off?

know someone that works for the water plant and if they had someone manning that station to turn on the pump there would had not have been a problem at all. Seems like the water dept is not hiring and trying to save money. This disater will cost around 22 million to fix (14 feet of water). All they needed in the first place was one guy working there to watch the pumps.
**********************
OK, first of all, it's not the "water department," it's The Water Reclamation District. It's not because someone forgot to turn a pump on. My brother is an engineer at the Reclamation District and they did everything they could. The Deep Tunnel Project can only facilitate so much wastewater and once it fills, we're SHIT OUT OF LUCK. The office my brother works in was under water in no time at all. The rain was so much and so quick that there wasn't anything that could be done. Thank GOD the Deep Tunnel was there or the south east side would already be under water. There were plenty of people there to "watch the pumps". Also, The Deep Tunnel is NOT even complete. The resevoir is a means to an end. The tunnel is just a giant sewer that will empty into a resevoir which will hold a 5 year storm. Sure, there were maintenence issues, the plant lost Com Ed power. If it makes it through, this is the link to the press release from the Reclamation District praising the engineers for their dilligence and good work.

The city already went and purchased 3 million bottles of water in case anything happens. In the words of one who knows: This has the potential of being a disaster larger than the great chicago fire.
Did they pay the ten cents a bottle tax on it? Just wanted to know.

Now Daley can say he made some money on that bottled water tax. By spending city tax money on paying the city bottled water tax. It all makes perfect sense.

Can someone please tell me when Officer BN's benefit is and where?

where else??? It's at Starbucks!!!
whaytever lets put more new street lamps on madison! lets make sure the "tax payers" of the west side get their new sidewalks, and on, and on, and on! keep voting chicago it's your world!
Hi boys and gals.... Lt. Richie Scotchbreath here. I have the inside scoop on this one. [Hic-up, Burp, Fart...the older I get the wetter they get]
Word is Capt. Jimbo Spratte had a big Mexican meal and you know what follows a large Mexican entree load with hot salsa and hot peppers, yep! A Titanic sized #2! We are talking torpedo sized bowl floaters!
[Hic-up, Burp, Fart...the older I get the wetter they get]
Well usually Jimbo Spratte flushes a few times as he goes but this time he waited till the last torpedo to hit the water before he flushed. Needless to say this massive torpedo blockade locked up 15 of this city's most powerful water pumps. [Hic-up, Burp, Fart...the older I get the wetter they get]
They say there would of been less damage if they were actual torpedoes in the water. Officers in the 8th district who were present for this royal flush said it sounded like a sonic boom! [Hic-up, Burp, Fart...the older I get the wetter they get]
Red faced Capt. Jimbo Spratte exited the men's room like nothing happened But everybody in 8th knew exactly what happened. All I got to say is I thank the lord he did this in 8th and not TR'S Pub. If the men's room there ever had to closed down, well Lt. Richie Scotchbreath would be on running dude to his house every 20 minutes! [Hic-up, Burp, Fart...the older I get the wetter they get]
Sincerely,
Lt. Richie Scotchbreath
eeer ah: when you accept the fact that our mayor's real daddy was bud biliken.... You will have true peace on this job. When you have true peace; gang bangers,
crazy ministers, insane police policy,J Fed,the gas head goof from New York (sharpton),and even water pumps, will no longer zap your calm.
Now lets all sit on the floor and repeat the following:
"Oh great Richie Biliken"
"It ain't all for real"
"Feel the love of the payheck"
"Feel it now"

of topic but can some TRU officers tell me why your locking up your head a day- what benefits do you have at TRU- I see you in uniform and working in different districts every night and doesn't seem much of a perc. Do you guys get percs or is it being in a unit you like- help me out with this !
8/10/2008 01:13:00 AM
Unlike you TOOLS, we get to work for some of the BEST Sergeants and Lieutenants in the department. Keep answering your bullshit domestics and handling 5 car traffic accidents and we will just keep doing what we do (like you know what that is). Make sure you get in your 30 min lunch and 15 min personnel asshat.
ANY UNIT OUT OF PATROL IS A GOOD UNIT DICKWAD
8/10/2008 07:09:00 PM
Are you serious? You would rather work at TRU over a beat car? Allow me to enlighten you, my young misguided fool....5 car accidents are awesome. Fly through the paper, stay down... eat, smoke a cigar read the paper. What's that squad? A domestic? Sure. Fly through the paper. Stay down. Eat. Read the other paper. Clear up. Take foot. clear up. Take personal. Clear up. Get gas. Take lunch. Then CTA check. That just about covers my day. I"ll throw in a mover ONLY because I'm on management for 3rd watch (anyone have a problem with that is either a bid spot or stupid) So, you go ahead and chase your tail in that "unit", I'll be the 'dickwad' in patrol that can actually see the forest for the trees. You, however, keep running into them. Open your eyes sonny boy.
SWAT officers are already patrolling the most violent Districts in the city on 2nd and
3rd watches.
And you know what? If I were a WC, I'd probably grant CU on the basis of "who works" and "who doesn't" too, contract or not.
Is 43B really keeping his girlfriend from 023 for another round on the saturation team even though she has been there for 3yrs. How can 43X let this happen? Stay tuned.
8/10/2008
What the fuck are you talking about? You people live in candyland. Boyfriends? Girlfriends? This guy doesn't like that guy! Contrary to all the whining on here, you obviously have nothing to do. Go do some fucking police work...you and all your do-nothing "43" friends. There are people who say that women ruined this job. I disagree, this job was ruined when the men started acting like women.

"...this is the gayest city in the world..."
I know, and thank God.
Now, kees me you fool!!!
"...why don't we say Daniel Burnham was a jagoff too, while we are at it..."
OK--Daniel Burnham was a jagoff too.
As a CERT volunteer, I was issued an e-mail warning of a call-up for evacuating that part of the city. I can verify that if it's a big enough thing for the OEMC to send out an e-mail to volunteers, it's a genuine concern for them.
Who lives in that area anyway? If they shoot at fire fighters, will they shoot green helmets too?
Fourteen pumps did not Fail. One of the THREE incoming feeders failed causing two pumps of seven that were in service to fail, combined with three inches of rain fall within a short period of time caused the demise of the station which is run by the MWRDGC not the city of chicago. The cities claims of flooding are unfounded at this time. The Deep tunnel leg servicing the Racine station holds a little over a billion gallons of water (sewage) the MWRD would need a heavy rain over a short period of time to become overwhemed.
43B is T. Walsh. the guy who used to ride the bike around 001 and 018 The Bike expert who knows nothing about police work.
to the person that called me a dick wad- I asked a honest question and one answer I received is you get to go home after an arrest thats a good perc if true- but you must be a little insecure by your response to my question -ho pissed in your cereal this morning stroke
we dont have cruisers in chicago STOP SAYING CRUISERS
8/10/2008 03:40:00 PM
Cruisers. Cruisers. Cruisers.
My squad's now my cruiser.
The city already went and purchased 3 million bottles of water in case anything happens.
***Purchased OUTSIDE of Chicago to avoid the ridiculous bottled water tax?
In 021 Commander Doty in a CO Book Message to each and every Roll Call informed officers that ALL Time Due Request will be canceled and denied due to a potential flood.
**Grieve it !
Let me talk about morale. They want you to be aggressive, yet you are told you will be fired if you disclose an illegal aliens status.
**I will uphold the US constitution, not the City of Chicago constitution created by the Mayor.
O my brother is an engineer for the water reclamation plant, well maybe not for long. He better ask around on the real truth to what happen. The BS you are spilling is what they want us to believe. They had no one working to turn on those pumps. The underworkers (not CCollage engineers) r working double swifts to try to clean up the mess. Good Luck to your brother Hack.

8/10/2008 10:34:00 PM
I was with you 100% until I got to your comments about Grau, Risley, Chasen and Rosebrock. All in all, I agree with you 95%, but these four clowns do not deserve your loyalty. Besides, we weren't hurt by them walking the plank, and neither were they hurt. They each have a wonderful pension, that is hardly deserved, at a rate much higher than deserved.
to 1.46pm,,,,,it is ASSHOLES like you that lie down on jobs that make it that much harder on everyone else.
You don't like the job, get off it,,,but where else will you get paid $60,000-$75,000 to do what little you seem to like to do.
I'm not a hard charger, but I don't stick it to others on my watch by fucking off.
Wasn't the Deep Tunnel Project supposed to fix this bullshit?
-----------------------------
No. it was supposed to provide lots of cushy contracts to connected people. And it did.
I have a relative that is an electrician with the Water Reclaimation District. He said pump went out and he and other tradesmen are putting in 16 hour days to rectify the problem.
8/10/2008 06:44:00 PM
Anyone I ever met that worked at the MWRD was a useless, clouted, drunkard.
Sincerely,
Lt. Richie Scotchbreath

Management on 3rd Watch....??? HA HA HA HA HA So you have a whole 2 years on the job, eh? Thanks for your advice, now take a few more years to actually learn the job before you decide to become a $50K+ per year paper weight.

OK ass hat, don't kid yourself. There's no conspiracy behind the pump that failed. No BS, just facts. Before you call me a hack, you should proof-read your reply for grammatical errors (e.g. your ebonics) Take a few English classes. I believe what you were trying to say was "he had better ask around on the real truth to what had happenED" (There's an "ed" at the end). I think I see who is writing this now. Is this a "revrun?"
Believe what you want to believe though, it has nothing to do with Daley trying to get the Olympics here. Personally I think it'd be great if the South East side went under water, it'd be a vast improvement on what the neighborhoods are like now. No more wiping the ass of the ghetto folk.

Deep Tunnel is the biggest ripoff and joke in engineering history. Three decades to build a humongous sewer line. The English and French built the Chunnel in less than a decade and you can drive through it or ride the train from Great Britain to the continent.
roll call in 015 we where read that it was highly recomended to purchase our own rubber ducky.

Hey "rev.", after they clean up the mess at the pumphouse maybe they will clean up the mess in your head. Where do you get your info (and spelling skills, A "Collage" is an artistic composition of materials. I think what you meant is "College", somewhere you have pobably only visited to watch a basketball game.) Your info couldn't be further from the truth. Put away the crack and believe the truth. It realy doesn't matter what you think anyway, everyone is out to do you wrong and thats all you will ever believe. I wouldn't expect otherwise from an idiot!
