A Scathing Report

  • A new report obtained by ABC7 says the city has not implemented court-ordered changes.

More than 50 years ago, one alderman said Chicago "ain't ready for reform." According to this report, it still ain't.

In settling the so-called Shakman case, the city of Chicago agreed to implement a new hiring plan that outlaws political clout. The new plan is being monitored by the federal government. The city was hoping to get the feds off its back by the end of the year. But that is highly unlikely, according to a new scathing report.

Without the changes in the political structure and accountability from voters, reform is unlikely. Although it's possible sanctions from the courts might result in cosmetic reforms.

Where's that Blue Party Ticket when we need it?

Choices, that's what the voters need, choices untainted by association with either the Democrat or Republican professional political bacteria.

Choices, as in common men and women, from completely non-political backgrounds, uninfected by that disease the midget refers to as having the 'fire in the belly'.

Contrary to the little bastard's assertions, that fire is, in reality, nothing but ambition for power and wealth.

Also known as greed and arrogance.

The only true 'fire in the belly' is that feeling one gets when faced with the realization that one is being fucked by the very individuals who have been entrusted to NOT fuck you.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Let's face it, we're stuck with these thiefs, unless the Feds start to investigate these thieves & prosecute, the shitty of Chicago & Crook County will continue to line the pockets of these fuckheads.

So when will the city realize that they really don't need 50 aldermen? As taxpayers we should be able to vote on where to cut on the city's budget. Cut the alderman staff down to 25. 1 per police district. Then do the same with the county's government. Cut out the waste.

SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC....
WITH ALL THE HOOPLA ABOUT TRAFFIC TICKETS, AND WHAT WE DO AND DON'T DO, AND THE CRIME RATE GOING UP BECAUSE THE POLICE DON'T DO THEIR JOBS ETC. AND OTHER POLICE BASHING, I NOTICED THEY PUT A PICTURE OF 1 OF OURS FOR BEING SUSPENDED IN THE NEWSPAPER.
HEY MARK & CO. WHY NOT DEMAND THAT THE PICTURES OF ALL THOSE ARRESTED BE PUBLISHED IN THE NEWSPAPERS. THAT WAY THE PUBLIC KNOWS WHAT ASSHOLES THEY HAVE NEXT DOOR (OR ARE ABOUT TO MOVE IN NEXT DOOR) AND THE POLICE WILL ALSO HAVE AN IDEA WHAT THE NEIGHBORHOOD ASSHOLES LOOK LIKE. (NOT MY BEYBEY HE DON'T, COULDN'T DO THAT).

I KNOW WHY THE NEWSPAPERS WOULDN'T GO FOR THE IDEA.THEY WOULD GO BROKE FROM USING TOO MUCH INK.

More than 50 years ago, one alderman said Chicago "ain't ready for reform."

That was beer guzzling, salon-keeper 43 Ward Alderman Mathias "Paddy" Bauler about 1955.

I think we should elect more beer guzzling salon-keepers as Aldermen instead of the pompous asses we have now. They would be just as crooked, but they would be more fun.

Everyone knows that the departments of streets and sanitation and fleet management are still loaded with nepotism and political organization clout. Will never change until some of these pols go to the joint. To bad the chances of that happening are slim to none.

As corny as this may sound, change starts at home..It's true though because who keeps electing these guys, we do.. How many voted for Daley because they couldn't vote for a black candidate when Eugene Sawyer was Mayor?? He liked the police...How many would vote for Daley tomorrow if it meant they'd get a spot and to hell with everyone else??...There is change in the air no doubt but it has yet to really catch fire..I know it can start with the police because we the best. It's time for a political overhaul in Chicago or stand by for Mayor Daley the Third in another decade or so.....

It doesn't matter what the courts say! The city doesn't care and does their own thing. The scum that run this city, state and county feel they our the highest court in the land and what they want they will get or just give it to themselves. The working man will always lose under these crooks. It's a shame the Feds haven't figured this one out, but then again they aren't immune from corruption either.

The one we could get rid of is do nothing Ginger Rugai. she is Co chair of the police/fire committee when was the last time she took a stand for the police demanded we get a contract or even opened her mouth without daleys permission. The only thing she is good for is getting merit promotions for useless people like D. Melchart/M. Engstrom.

You know what I love about this whole Shakman story? The chick this federal judge appointed as the monitor to write these reports and oversee the hiring (and bill the city big bucks for doing it) was the federal judge's LAW CLERK for years. Yeah, get rid of the nepotism and patronage. Right.

The Shakman Investigators investigating political hiring/Corruption were/are some of the poorest Investigators I've seen in almost 3 decades in Law Enforcement. Their hurry-up, slip-slop job was a joke. Collectively, I don't think they could find sand at a beach. If Ray Charles was still alive, he'd see the abundant Corruption clearer than these appointed goofs did..

HOW TO VOTE FOR CHANGE.

NOT voting is not enough. Last election, my partner commented he was voting by NOT voting. Wrong.

This does not work, people. If only one person in the city votes, because everyone is thinking they'll send ' a message ' to City Hall and all three million DON'T vote, the vote that will decide the election is the one that is CAST. You HAVE to go in and actually vote for the candidate whose name ISN'T Daley if you really want to see a change in this city.

It's not enough to sit on your hands at home and think you're affecting things by protesting and not voting at all.

Court issued sanctions, how about two sanctions that will nearly take care of everything else #1-reduce the amount of aldermen,we have too many runing around thinking they are above the law.#2term limits nuff said. This sitting Mayor has been in power much too long,he thinks he can do whatever he wants and no one holds him accountable. He screams budget deficit but yet he wants the olympic's here???? how can that be plausable if there is no money available for the amount of construction needed for the differemt venues required by the committe overseeing the olympic's.

She is on the committee that deals with Com Ed and their contract with the City and holds sway in Com Ed's dealings with the City. She demanded that Com Ed put all their electric wire in the 19th Ward underground, obviously that couldn't be done but com Ed certainly takes care of Alderman Rugai's 19th Ward better than any other.

Some reporter should look into Rugai's dealings with Com Ed and the special "favors" she gets from Com Ed.

The generator that Pool Boy got is small potatoes to what she demands, and frequently gets, from Com Ed for the 19th Ward.
