Hey I must have been sleeping on the job during this one. I'm confused. I backtracked the blog on this topic and I missed some ordinance or something? Can someone shed some light on this?
My memory was if we arrest someone during the investigation of a crime, we take them into the station and run a name check. If something pops up on Leads or NCIC that says contact so and so for whatever criminal reasons, we make that notification. If it happens to be ICE, it happens to be ICE.
Please enlighten me. Am I supposed to disregard the department order written on the notification of illegal aliens topic also?

Surely there would be some sort of legal action you could take if you were fired for informing ICE of the whereabouts of an illegal alien. If an Officer handles a crime in the middle of the night and you fail to notify the brass you or your supervisors would be in hot water.
When a federal crime is uncovered and notifications are not made the Officer and supervisors should be fired. Thse brass has no right to tell it's Officers to not enforce the laws of this country. Why not stop enforcing gun laws, which some of Chicagos laws have been declared unconstitutional. How about stop enforcing narcotic laws which some police, pollititans and a large number of sports figures do not believe in.

SCC you are very correct. It was a bad choice of words. Should a Chicago P.O. forward info to ICE, I don't think this would be an "illegal" act in the way the alderman described it. It is my understanding that the prohibition on sharing info is a General Order department policy issue and not a state or federal law issue. I think it is about time our city cousel and the Law Department review this policy. Why is it that a municipal government in essence underminds federal policy. We should pressure our legislators in DC to without federal grants to cities that do not cooperate with ICE. Fuck these aldermen and the criminals they represent.

The answer to our immigration problem is very simple: Enact the exact same immigration laws as the Mexican Government imposes on immigrants to their wonderful country. Check Mexico's immigration laws on the internet: Very Strict and VERY ENFORCED. NO FUCKING FREEBIES NOTHING.
Here is a true story: My friend went to Acapulco with his wife and his three year old son (I know why take a three year old to Mexico in the first place? The guy ain't too bright.) Anyway his son got very ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. BEFORE the fucking mexican hospital personnel would even look at his son they told him he had to have a minimum of $500CASH or a CREDIT CARD before they would treat his son (His son had a fever of 103 and had been vomiting all day). He gave them a credit card which they checked and then held onto until his son was discharged, subsequently charging him $733. And that is not a BULLSHIT story. Fuck Mexico, I wouldn't even go there if someone gave me a free trip, but let's keep paying our taxes so they can come here and get free medical care and multiply like fucking roaches. I think, but only think, that part of the rules of establishing a General Order are that they CAN NOT contradict a rule of law. Can someone inquire with the FOP at a regular meeting? Can't make the next one or I would do it myself. (This is why the supervisory ORDER is required for statements post-incident and why the statements are inadmissible in court...)

I believe there exists a G.O. that probably states something to the like of "it is not the policy of the department to notify ICE of the detainment of an illegal". I have no idea what the order number is, but if someone knows and can post it, I'll pull it up and send it to which ever paper wants to print it. Hell, I'll even type it up on here for all to read.
I am quite certain there is no LAW that expressly forbids us from enforcing a federal law.
Now then, if someone can cite/post the specific law that allows/requests/mandates law enforcement officers to notify ICE with information relative to legal status, then solis can come and have a chat with me on most fridays, at branch 2, 10:30 hours, 26th and Cal, at which time I am most likely doing pc hearings for Felony 501's, and will have notified ICE for every case.
I'm not going to allow for a terrorist like solis to point his finger at me and tell me to be a good little boy and do as he says.
Saddly, if ICE actually gave a shit, they would already be at branch 2 (felony traffic court) grabbing these criminals up the second the judge said "finding probable cause".

Have our lawyers go to the U.S. Attorney and get a letter stating if federal guidelines for ICE investigations are followed, that any action against an officer would be investigated.
The next step would be to get a federal injunction on the same matter.
