Finally brought Dad into the 21st Century. Set him up with a Laptop and a Desktop for Mom, and Internet. Local Community College for a Internet for Seniors Class.
Now it get Interesting. Dads been retired now for 13 years. At a Retiree's lunch recently he hears from an Anonymous Exempt about Moral and the Blue Shirt Job Action/NO WORK, and THE BLOG!
Dad askes me why nobodys doing any work anymore, and why moral is so bad. That was an hour on the phone.
Then he asks whats the blog? So I sent him the link.
Mom said he spent last few days reading everything on the blog. He loves the pictures of the stupid blond girl.
Last weeks call dad suggests that retaliation should be taken against all media vehicles. Eventually the work will get to their bosses about not being able to drive 2 blocks without getting a ticket, this may lead to pressure from the media to give us a contract, and send a message to the papers and TV to start treating the Coppers with more respect. Even though its goes against the no-ticket or work for the bosses, and said screw the free papers.
So if your out far west near Sycamore, and an old man offers to buy you a beer (cause he can still tell a CPD guy a mile away) Enjoy it cause he can afford it. He has some great stories. I don't know about department wide, but in Area 2, the deputy's office called all of the commanders to tell them that their CAPS Lts no longer hold that position. This was on a Friday 2 weeks ago. The following Monday, the same person calls each commander saying to forget it, that the CAPS Lts are still in effect. However, there is now a 3rd watch CAPS Sgt in each district. this is to cover all of the beat and assorted group meetings without having to pay OT to the day Sgt, or the Beat Team Leader (they are definitely gone).
The reason for keeping the CAPS Lt in effect is not for keeping the program going, but to be able to use them on any watch, in any district citywide, as watch commander, without having to pay time and a half, as is required of all other Lts (except the Tact Lt).

Did anyone ever tell you the the Antarctic ice sheet (that's the south pole) had the highest recorded ice levels is...wait for it...30 years?

Yeah she must of pissed off someone to land on midnights in 011. Maybe she thought she could pad her arrest record while she was there you know approve the arrest and jump on the paper. I had to deal with her a couple of times if she would just stop talking on the phone she could actually accomplish something. I think she is on the Lava line.

Looks like gang banging mexicans, hanging out in front. The place was called Elio's but he went out of business thanks!

Call Licensing - they been out enforce in Area 5 recently.
So if your out far west near Sycamore, and an old man offers to buy you a beer (cause he can still tell a CPD guy a mile away) Enjoy it cause he can afford it. He has some great stories. He will also buy a round of shots to toast the fallen coppers, his eyes will tear up, shake your hand while telling you to stay safe and go home to your family...

I doubt that, but you can call and request they do some investigative work for a change. Any officer can do the same thing for that matter.
After reading this I thank my lucky stars I work days in 024! From the Commander on down nothing but professional gentlemen; Alison is the best too. THANKS.....

If you read the National FOP interviews with Obama and McCain, you'd realize that Obama is much more likely to uphold federal pension protections than McCain. McCain wants to stop federal intervention into state labor agreements.
So, you have a choice. Vote to save your pension and let the country go to shit OR sacrifice your pension for the good of the country.
This is the quandry that all police are in. Obama wants to let criminals go free, increase lawsuits against police, and generally make it impossible to do police work. McCain wants to remove your union protections and leave you and your pension at the mercy of the employer (Mayor Daley).
My plan. Vote Obama in 08. Stop doing anything that resembles police work. Collect my pension. And move out of the country upon retirement.

Finally brought Dad into the 21st Century. Set him up with a Laptop and a Desktop for Mom, and Internet. Local Community College for a Internet for Seniors Class.
Now it get Interesting. Dads been retired now for 13 years. At a Retiree's lunch recently he hears from an Anonymous Exempt about Moral and the Blue Shirt Job Action/NO WORK, and THE BLOG!
Dad askes me why nobodys doing any work anymore, and why moral is so bad. That was an hour on the phone.
Then he asks whats the blog? So I sent him the link.
Mom said he spent last few days reading everything on the blog. He loves the pictures of the stupid blond girl.
Last weeks call dad suggests that retaliation should be taken against all media vehicles. Eventually the work will get to their bosses about not being able to drive 2 blocks without getting a ticket, this may lead to pressure from the media to give us a contract, and send a message to the papers and TV to start treating the Coppers with more respect. Even though its goes against the no-ticket or work for the bosses, and said screw the free papers.
