Bad Day for Retail
Black Friday became Black & Blue Friday for some:
- NEW YORK (AP) _ A Wal-Mart worker was killed Friday when "out-of-control" shoppers desperate for bargains broke down the doors at a 5 a.m. sale. Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers shouted angrily and kept shopping when store officials said they were closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.
And on the other coast:
- PALM DESERT, Calif. (AP) _ Two men pulled guns and shot each other to death in a crowded toy store Friday after the women with them erupted into a bloody brawl, witnesses said. Scared shoppers fled but no one else was hurt.
On the other hand, we finished all our Christmas shopping using the miracle of the Internet, free shipping and UPS Ground. Best of all, no sales taxes for Shortshanks and Toddler to steal.

I love the city councilman from California who couldn't fathom someone with a gun at a Toys R Us.
I wish some of our elected officials would get thier collective heads out of thier asses and see what we are up against. Toy stores, family festivals, schools they do not value human life, but we have to be careful not to offend them or take away thier rights.. Whats so hard to understand, life as we knew it in America is over.
We live in a country of idiots. Hum?? Could Muslim nut jobs with guns and explosives kill several hundred people at a crowded store on Black Friday? . . . Could we make it any easier for them? I hope all of Chicago's shoppers loved paying the 10.25% sales tax too. Getting smoked by terrorists while shopping at a crowded store after I just paid 10.25% sales tax would really make the holidays for me and my family. Screw that!
95% of my shopping will be done online (and a good majority of it is done). There are some things I have to get at a department store, and I'm seriously dreading it. I hate crowds and I pretty much hate people in general - well, especially this time of year.
There's no way I would fight for any toy for my kid. That shit just isn't worth it. I know it's one thing to make your kid happy, but there's no way I'd risk my life just to have my child play with a toy for a day and that would be the end of it. My kids are too old for that crap anyway.
Ebay (IPod Touch)
Amazon (whatever)
Philadelphia Flyers (tix)
Border's
Modell's
Kohl's
All that and a zillion others can be had online and it's hassel free.
The only thing I worried about with Black Friday was what was the traffic going to be like as I made my way out the door for work. Lots of OT available and I won't be taking any days off until after Christmas unless I'm made to. Cha-ching.
Poor temp worker trampled to death by a mob bent only upon getting a good deal (before anyone else)... Just another vivid reminder that society is a fragile thing, held together by a thin blue line.
Kimberly Cribbs, who witnessed the stampede, said shoppers were acting like "savages."
Wow.
Become a member of Amazon Prime and get 2nd Day Air UPS shipping for free on everything Amazon handles. And NO sales tax! I wouldn't risk the Wal-Mart crowds, too dangerous. Not with free shipping available as close as my computer, I let my fingers do the clicking.
If Amazon sold groceries I would get them there also.
For years I have been buying my tobacco products via Internet from places in North Carolina and Virginia. Again, NO taxes to IL, Cook County or Chicago. I save almost 50% over what I would pay for cigars in Chicago.
There are millions of ways to fuck Shortshanks, you just need to use some imagination.
A TRUE SHOPPING TALE FROM GERMANY
German police are hunting a man with no arms who managed to steal a television set from an electronics store. Surveillance camera footage shows two accomplices attaching the 24 inch set to the culprits body with clamps and then ushering him out the door onto the streets of Munich. A spokesman for the police appealed for witnesses to come forward. "It's hard to believe that the sight of an armless man walking along with a giant TV clamped to his body did not get anyone's attention," he said.
I'd prefer to run with the bulls at Pamplona that go near a retailer on Black Friday.
The Internet is now the only way to go.
Were the victims last words, "Welcome to Walmart!" ? What a noble death.
Holy Stepped Up Security Batman!!!
I wonder if this ever happen in Russia with those bread lines?
I bet the killer shoppers are all max out on their credit cards wonder if the police could identify those offending shoes out of the crowd?
Seems to me we have nothing to fear from foreign terrorists-- just the mad shoppers off-line.
They ACTUALLY showed a picture of the worker when he was 13. It's as if the Chicago media went over to cover the story:

OT: Thanks for the wing recipe. For Christmas, I'm thinking of making ham. Anybody have a good ham recipe?
We don't have to worry about Muslim nut jobs, gunning anybody down in or at American stores, the American nut jobs are doing a stand up job all by them selves.
My faith in the CPD has been restored. The worst we ever did, when we found a guy and gal in a car and suspected him of playing "stink finger," was request him to lick his fingers to prove he wasn't. Now, I read in the Wisconsin Dells Events, that 2 Dells cops (age 19 and 20!) forced 2 national guardsmen vacationing in the Dells to lick some suspected piss from the ground. Both the FIB's, as folks from Illinois are lovingly known in Wisconsin, did tours in Iraq, and are suing for 1.2 million.
Besides just shopping on line to avoid the nuts, is it possible to vacation on line?
How did a "woman with them erupted into a bloody brawl"?
Inquiring minds want to know.
And is it possible to get my wife to erupt into a bloody brawl?
Why do 2 politicians need bodyguards?

I guess the city isn't looking for money anymore at this point.
Confirmed with a couple of pals in 023 & 018 that NO traffic enforcement cars have been available for Lake Shore Drive the last few weeks.
All assigned to the president elect detail. Must be true, CLTV news showed the average speed on LSD at Belmont as being 68 mph this morning at 0830 hours.
Lets see - winter speed limit is what? Subtract from 68 mph = pretty good fines in court if anybody from Traffic wrote them.
Online is the only way to go. Avoid the crowds of assholes and $ave. Cut back alot this year. Can't afford it with massive property tax hike, lack of raises , tuitions, college fund tanking with the market, etc...
Time to start saving folks. We buy groceries at Costco(Skokie),ammo at Shore (Lincolnwood), gas in Niles or Park Ridge, stuff for kids online. See, only essentials.
The last thing I bought in Chicago was an ice cream bar from the Good Humor guy at my son's baseball game in July.
Let the Silly Season begin.
Does anyone know if Gov. Hair Helmet signed the portability bill?
A wittness interviewed on CNN at the WalMart shated "They" the crowed "Are savages" "Their savages". supprised CNN would air that.
I am opening a kiosk for bullet proof vests t the mall or should I say maul.

nope said he is not going to too much a financial strain on an already drained pension
$1.79 for gas at Thorntons's on York, DuPage County just the other side of O'Hare Field.
How about a big Merry Christmas and stick it in your ass for Mr. Mayor and Stroger.
It is not welcome to Walmart, it is welcome to Walma........ugh.
We watched the Supt.'s holiday message at roll call. He was talking about drinking but he looked drunk and his clothes make him looked liked he just rolled out of bed. When he finished his speech, waiting for him was a plate of biscuits and gravy.
You see why more police are needed. Even if they have to hire back the "real police" as peacekeepers.
Safety is worth the expense.
.......... held together by a thin blue line.

This says it all!
Betty Price and her three children were knocked down and step on.
Talk about falling prices.

Holy shit, I LMAO at that!
Bad day for the newspapers in Chicago too.
SunTimes Newsgroup (SUTM) closed at $.07 on Friday from a 52 week high of $6.23. Itisthisclose to be delisted.
Tribune (TXA) closed at $5.75 from a 52 week high of 57.01.
Print media is dying in this town.

Amen, brother. And don't forget - no crowds to deal with!

Good question. He had stated he planned to veto it, but that was awhile back. Were there enough votes to override him, if necessary?
SCC Use this as you see fit:
There is little if any room for political correctness on the part of TRUE leaders. Their responsibility is to "tell it like it is" so that the communities they represent are prepared to deal with problems that will inevitably arise. Many of todays police leaders have placed their own personal convenience and job security above duty. Unit that changes, the problems resulting from their silence on important issues will only grow worse.

This is my fourth Christmas season exclusively shopping online. I won't be out among them no matter what I need to buy...you can get anything on line. Overstock.com rocks and you can't beat their low shipping. And I wouldn't buy ANYTHING in Crook County anyway.
ot: former cpd sarge on AMW tonight. wanted by the FBI for being dirty and crooked. Another blow to the CPD and making us look like shit on national TV.
real glad to know that 016 tac was pulled out of 016 and sent to 015 tonight when you have people getting pulled out of their cars at belmont and & osceola and stabbed. NFI.

Let's hope there will be enough votes to convict at the end of Blago's trial.

I was pretty aggravated to find all the "doorbusters" already out of stock at 0001hrs on Black friday at many of the bigger retailers, but as usual, Amazon came through for me. One huge order and I'm done. Even managed to sneak in a few goodies for myself! Free shipping and NO TAX TO BIG DICK AND TODDLER OR THE ROD!!! I can't imagine what would cause any sane person to go NEAR a Wal-Mart over this weekend...
What was up with the 10-1 in 012 last night?
are you listening to your police scanner at home, do you run right home to hop on the blog after work, or are you blogging from the car?
Just curious.
Sorry, above post in reference to

off topic: the male white midnight police officer from 016th dist that plays traffic all nite and would write his own mother was arrested in tennensee. He was at a family funeral and a relative showed up that had a warrant. I guess he pulled his gun and attempted to make the arrest.lol and was charged with 3-counts of agg assault..this guy would not show up to a progress call or 10-1 while working in chicago, why did he want to be the police when down there...well if he has a party, he will have it in a phone booth....thank you lord.
Only in the USA could two likely illegals shoot it out to the death in a crowded toy store in Palm Desert, Cal.!

I just bought something online from Eddie Bauer and they charged me the entire full sales tax as if I bought it downtown on Michigan Avenue.
They catching up with everyone.

They will charge sales tax if they have a brick and mortor store in Illinois.......otherwise no tax.
Yep, don't patronize Illinois businesses if you can help it. The more we drive out, the more of a statement we make. It's not their fault, but they are going to take the heat until they put pressure on the Rod and Toddler to not greedy (or until hell freezes over).
