Sandra Day was told to retire pronto or face possible 30 pending for using her city car constantly while on the medical. She is not one of the smarter cookies in the jar.
Just another clout hack. We're assuming she'll be allowed to retire in good graces with her pension intact? It's not like she stole a $1 bag of trail mix or anything, right?

I don't know what DAY'S medical problem is. I was told that when she was required to go to the medical section she refused saying she couldn't drive her car. Someone checked the gas pump logs for her car and saw it was being gased up every week. A dept. repo man went to her house and got the car.
In the ten years I've been a det she is far and away the most incompetent street deputy I've met. It's not even close for second place.
One of the many reasons we have no more trust in the leadership of this fucked up department! The "different rules for different folks" motto is still alive and well! What rule would Cozzie have fallen under if he were connected instead of just being the average working cop? Hell, if one of us "regular guys" was on the medical and ran to the store while they did a check we would be taking time. But she's different, she gets to drive around on the tax payers dime for months while also getting paid her heafty salary. They should have taken her car long ago. Just another clout embarrasment that never should have been a boss in the first place!

I was on the medical for the first time in 10 years. I had the flu and didn't think that I should go to work sick, like i did in the past.
I was on the medical for one day and I had an inspector knocking on my door @ 9am, that goof lupe pena.
I was sooo sick, could hardly get out of bed. I had a high fever. i looked like the walking dead. and this goof asked me if i was sick for real ?
Then he tells me not to go out without calling my dist first.
my fever ended about 330 pm so I went to release from the medical.
i get home and see a missed call from the city of chicago, my dist of residence. WTF
I called my dist and let them know i'm off the medical and asked about the harassment. and was told it's coming from downtown.
i bet this sandy day never had to deal with that !!!
OT: I just came on this really cool job and after my first year on tact I'm a little sad to find out that the bosses want quantity over quality arrests. I don't get it? Why would they rather have 5 drinkers than one great robbery arrest? My great Lt. once told us he only wants quality arrests and that he's not a "numbers guy" and puts us on a robbery mission. Then the next week he says the numbers are down so go grab pissers or drinkers. Then while me and my cool teamates are processing felony drinkers two robberies happen. Oh well at least we made a difference.
i dont have a lot of time on the job.....more than 10, but less than 15. a bit of advice that i give to the new guys is KNOW WHO YOUR WATCH COMMANDER IS BEFORE YOU GO OUT A DO STREET STOPS/TRAFFIC STOPS. why? you ask......do you really want that incompetant W/C to handle a TRR, a CR, or a shooting. i understand that some shit can not be avoided, but dont put yourself in a position where shit can go wrong.

You're right. Most of our "fine" citizens would be filing lawsuits even before the dust would settle. Now, just imagine this as a prelude to the 2016 Olympics!
FYI -
While you are on the Medical the Department can do a '
Medical Follow-up" on you, once on days and again on afternoons.
Past practice was to have a Medical follow-up done when it was requested by your district of assignement (W/C). Most districts did not request follow-ups because of the manpower shortages (a Sgt. from the Dist in which you reside had to go to your home and have you sign the form)
Since so few follow-ups were being done the Department has decided to assign an Inspector for the Northside and one on the Southside to do Medical follow-ups on the day watch.
So to all that use the Medical Roll, be vary careful that you stay home while on the Medical (a requirement of the G.O.)
If you leave your home to seek Medical attention, get food or medication from the store, drop off or pick your kids up from school or go to church (these are the only valid excuses for NOT being home)
Make sure you call your district of assignment to log out of home and call again to log back in from any of the above. Notate who you spoke to, star # and time)
If you do not follow the G.O you WILL be written up!
In order to blow the pension one needs to be convicted in court of a job related felony
generally one of the charges would be Official Misconduct.

These medical checks are being sent by personnel assigned to the medical section from our department. As the W/C I'm allowed to choose whether or not I want a medical check. If I select no, which is normally the case, the medical section will send one. They override the W/C's decision. This has been going on for quite a while now. Either a Sgt. from the district you live in or an inspector will show up. Most coppers feel it's their W/C doing the checks. It's not. The choice is there, but it's always officially made at the medical section. Fact.
Let's see:
1. Felony Theft (gas valued over $300.00)
2. Official Misconduct (the thefts occured while she was in an official departmental vehicle)
3. Conspiracy for J-Fed and the ADS(Jodi was made aware of the thefts and conspired to be complicit in those thefts by failing to take apporopriate action as required by law...he then benefited from the thefts by avoiding a scandal that may have led to his termination for cause)
This is why no matter how much BS is spewed by Jodi and the Slpempts...their actions and inactions speak louder than anything.
Business as usual, clout rules. The most dedicated homicide lieutenant in the detective division is moved to make room for a sex offender. What a slap in the face to the commander, and every sergeant and detective in HGS. WHY, Little Tommy Byrne, WHY?

You are lying. From a person who is REALLY in the know. One day in the not too distant future when I retire, I may have a chat with an investigative reporter. During that chat I may give names, dates and times, along with other evidence collected over the years of the clout heavy who have had their beef's killed or at least buried later on so as not to raise any eyebrows.
An IAD investigator may recommend a certain outcome, but the real magic happens AFTER it is turned in.
This is another example of the true character of the leadership of the CPD.
If you are a no clout powerless PO you are trashed at every turn:
A double standard for discipline and
No chance of a promotion based on true merit and
unsafe working conditions.
However,
if you have clout you get
no discipline and even another meritoris promotion for screwing up. Example...Commanding a unit where felony after felony was committed(see SOS)

And Shields was the A/2 Dep Chief at that time, who was the Commnder of the D unit at that time? The only one that took heat on that fiasco was Cline the P.O. should be in the same boat as Becker who went to jail for a similiar type of incident or Cozzi, but gets a free pass no outrage from the black community again.

Maybe the 30 days pending part is not true, because I do not have personal knowledge of that, but I have seen her at the gas pumps in her city car, as recent as September, so I know that part is fact. We talked for about 20 minutes.

I learned the hard. Now, when the oncoming WC arrives; I hang up the gloves.
Being on the street during the night I have come across some decent and helpful Street Deputies. Eugene Williams, Bob Lopez, McNulty to name a few have been knowledgable and gentlemen on the scene and know when to step back or take over. They let the police be the police. Some of these guys will be missed. Some won't.
Is she the rocket scientist who wanted to do a round table for a P.O. who shot a dog? He put on the air and did everything by the book and she wanted to inventory his gun? You can’t make this shit up! Bet she does not even own a personal car!

different strokes for different folks is right,i was on the medical for 2 days,had pink eye along with a bad case of stomach flu,have only gone on the medical 3 times in my 12 yrs,now i was told i will have to take 1 day because i didnt call the medical section the second day i was on the medical,i was sick in bed all fu***** day till my wife woke me up around 1900 hrs.must be nice to have a little clout.

Hey 1:54am, the inspector told you to call your unit if you leave the house. You left the house to go to medical and never called your unit. You are a dumbass then. You were still on the medical when you left to get off it. Inspectors are sent on everyone on the medical, use to be Sgts were sent. This one told you the rule about calling and you ignored it.
Ok SCC. I have a firing solution for the medical checks.
Answer the door. Tell the wonderful inspector or Sgt. to come into the house. Then shit and piss in your pants and blame it on them.
Then tell them that you were afraid to go to the bathroom knowing that you might miss the doorbell because you would be written up for not answering the door.
Then go on the psych because you were so mentally scarred from your ordeal that you can't function properly anymore.
Shitting and pissing your drawers in front of the brass is good for at least 6 months off I figure. Then feel free to roam the city at will.
And if that doesn't work, try mowing the front lawn naked with your gun belt on while shouting, BACK SIR. That has 12 months of free democratic checks written all over it.

About 10 years ago, a sergeant in the Internal Affairs Division did not own a car until he was promoted to Lieutenant. Certain spots or units just have this perk. If the department allows it, why hold SD's feet to the flame. It's the department who should be on top of it. I doubt any of these beefers wouldn't do the same thing if they had the means and opportunity. Also, she is not looking at 30 days pending -that statement, my friends, is crap. Look for retirement papers the first of the year.

Very very true. Some WCs turn every incident into a major case. I make sure I know who is working even before I bring an arrest report in. Sometimes its best to wait for the next watch and other times you have got to hustle to get it done before your guy goes home. Even with an arrest report some you dont want to deal with, let alone anything a little complicated like a TRR or a chase.

Not true, you forgot Kirby and Shear
All I know is 012 Dist. Commander Dennis Keane is absolutely the best Cmdr. I ever worked for. His door is always open and he is a genuine gentleman. Knew him as an A/4 det. and a 012 dist. Sgt. Have to say J-Fed did his homework on this man.

Unsubstantiated rumor is bad enough - but posting outright lies about someone is just plain vicious. City News Bureau editors used to say "if your mother says she loves you, check it out". Here's a good one boys. Sandra Day was the street deputy on days when my boy in 008 shot a dog (a T.R.R. and a missle-x). When she finds out, she tells the watch commander to call the dicks out to the dog pound to check out how many holes are in the dog to see if all the rounds were accounted for. I kid you not boys. When the word got out in regards to her order, she got on the watch commander's ass and told her to find out who leaked the story. She is a real embarassment to the Dept.
