Someone located the entire Osborn letter in a Sun Times comment section. This is an amazing bit of reading explaining how the Water Department is part and parcel of one of the biggest taxpayer rip-offs in existence. It names names and explains exactly how Shortshanks' people collect millions from the unclouted while other politically connected buildings pay zero for years and years. Go read it.

Wow. This is an amazing story. There is not even ONE aspiring journalist that is willing to look at this twisted web of corruption? I noticed that someone suggested contacting Bill O'Reilly at the O'Reilly Factor. Maybe they would be interested?
So, who IS this guy, anyway? I won't go so far as to say I agree that the city intentionally flooded downtown as a massive conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, but he's got a lot of other excellent info there.

This guy has really done his homework. I often wondered how Daley was able to insulate himself from repercussions emanating from his corrupt practices, now I know. What a P.O.S.

Go check your water meter right now if you have one. If it reads in gallons, you are being billed at a much higher rate. If you were underpaying due to an error, you know they would have fixed it in a day. We will see how long it takes to fix with us overpaying.

I just got my water bill and the city increased charges by $47.00. This was to be expected from them. Every thing has gone up except our pay. All the connected get over.
Bill O'Reilly for help? You guys are really desperate.
The surprising thing is that people are actually surprised. Hopefully the Feds tuck this guy away on a ranch in Idaho somewehre, so he survives to tell his tale.
My water bill went up this year from $176 to $226 !!!

OT: I flew Delta this week to Atlanta. A soldier was going from his home, wife and new baby here in Chicago to Fort Bragg and was sitting next to me. We got to talking because one of my sons is based out of Bragg and just returned from Iraq. The specialist said he was rotating back for his second tour in Iraq. Right after they closed the doors a flight attendant came back and told him, "we have an open seat in first class if you'd like to ride up there." You should have seen the smile on this young man's face. From now on I'm flying Delta whenever I can.

NO! This needs to go into the NATIONAL MEDIA Blogs, Posts, Websites, other MAJOR CITY newspapers... this needs to be sent or posted everywhere OUTSIDE of our region... the outside media will be less beholden to the Little Troll Daley, and would be more likely to ask the tough questions!!!

it WAS quite a letter, Mr. Osborne rambled a bit but there is a lot there....how about 20/20 instead of O'Reilly? I think Elizabeth Vargas is still with tat show and she used to be here in Chicago. The Peter Karl thing...used to be quite a good reporter...then went to work for Daley's PR machine. (public relations, not...)
One litle thing...I don't think it was Bruno Roti...it was younger brother Freddie, and there is NO blood relation between Capone and Daley, just association. This letter should be stapled to every bill, invoice, tax assessment, sales tax and receipt issued by the city of Chicago.

Wow. This Osborn guy has some brass balls but that is what it is going to take to crack the Aces from a marked deck which the Daley Crime Family and its' stakeholders have held.
Life got more complictaed for these crooks after 9/11 and the economy tanking last year after years of financial chicanery finally reached a breaking point.
It may be with it no longer being a falsely expanding economy these annointed politicos can no longer hide the theft that has been taking place.
Now, the question becomes what is the so called Justice Department going to do about it.
If the answer is nothing, we could be headed for a Revolution or sections of the United Sates pealing off from the Union because the are tired of getting fucked by consequences of politicians from places like Illinois (Chicago).
In doing nothing the FBI may be playing with fire.
We are still a country, for the most part, which decends from the assimilation of immigrants in the first half of the last century. Eventually those who love what this country was and who do not crave money and power my rise up and be willing to die in the spirit of taking our country back from these balkanizing immigrants and corrupt politicians.
P.S. Another huge rip-off of the Chicago taxpaper is the thousands upon thousands of landlords who get approved for the senior tax freeze and senior tax exemption which is intended to be only on their primary residence but which the get on their rental property.
I happen to know of one landlord that does this on a property she should be paying taxes of $3000 a year on but pays only about $1,500, given the exemptions.

I can relate to this because it seems that the City relies on the "good" or "successful" or maybe I should say "foolish" businesses to pay their debts to cover THOSE that don't! Same as the parkers and traffic cameras. How many bullshit tags are on the shitheads cars or the illegal aliens cars or on out ouf state cars that refuse to comply with our state laws once they move into an apartment here!
In other words its the same people paying over and over while the shitheads run free from their debts (like the gas bills and electric bills in the wintertime)!

Oh Yeah!? Well the city just installed a meter on my waterline last year when they redid the sewers and I bet they have one with your name on it waiting for you! Maybe this Osborne guy is nuts, it doesn't mean what he says isn't true. After all we all know the hardest part of our job isn't dealing with the criminals or citizens, that's childsplay. It's dealing with the city that drives us all nuts.

The easiest way is to have a sort of Clearinghouse of Information where various people with individual pieces of family tree info can 'deposit' it into one location (like SCC, for example). That person would then have to coordinate it all. Then all you need is someone ballsy or goofy enough to take it public!!!
