You Got to Love Texas
- One week into the New Year, Alamo City residents or police have already used deadly force to protect themselves or their homes in three separate incidents, resulting in two deaths and two injuries.
The recent shootings follow a year in which Alamo City residents and police killed more than twice as many people in what officials have deemed justified homicides, ones in which the shooter acted within the law.
Tuesday night’s fatal shooting of two suspected home invaders marked the latest example of a resident using deadly force to fend off intruders, authorities said.
Michael Garcia, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alexander Lopez, 17, was critically wounded and died around noon Wednesday at University Hospital.
Police said Garcia, a documented gang member who was armed Tuesday, collapsed on a sidewalk outside the near North Side home.
“I don’t think (Garcia) even had a chance to fire (his weapon),” said Police Sgt. John Slaughter.

Being a traveling man, Chalkie likes Texas, sez the good guys win more often down there.....
Armed citizens - sounds to me like an excellent crime-fighting method!
LOL!
a true sign of citizenship is when the people can use whatever reasonable/available means to protect their loved ones, homes, property and persons from the bipedal predator! None of that liberal assed, clog wearing, scooter riding, matching ankle socks & beret bullshit about "duty to retreat" in the face of imminent bodily harm or being questioned as to why you didn't let ass-pipe throw the 1st punch or get off the 1st shot like here in the daley inc. shitbird sanctuary formerly known as chicago.
i'm glad that there are some places in this country that adhere to this hard eyed, clear headed sensibility. ain't gonna happen in chicago, a future voter for shortshanks might get shotified & he don't like dat!
MY PRESIDENT, MAYOR AND SUPT. ARE ALL AGAINST THE 2ND AMENDMENT. AS A GOOD SHEEPDOG I WILL LOCK UP ANYONE WITH A FIREARM. JUST DO YOUR JOB.
A Lake County Grand Jury refused to indict an unnamed Store Clerk for the shooting of Brandon Starks after Starks rob the clek at gun point, threatened to kill him. All was caught on video.
The rest of the story can be googled, or read here: http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=262804
but I wonder how different the outcome would have been had the clerk done this on Lincoln in Chicago rather than Waukegan.
Wow! Was the Texas Sgt.'s name really John Slaughter?
Back when I was kid, Walt Disney ran a series about a lawman named Texas John Slaughter. The theme song went: "Texas John Slaughter made 'em do what they oughta, cause if they didn't they died." Makes me wish I grew in the Old West instead of the south side.
God Bless Texas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, murders are down this from from the same period last year! Chalkie must be terrified of Weiss' new programs: MSF,Gang Enforcement and STOP Missions. Shit, chalkie's scared of the fed!

Remember, you can't spell "Slaughter" without "laughter"...
Ref. Det Shaved Longcock. I was a suburban officer and had the opportunity to meet Det. Kill on a case I was working. He handed me his business card which showed his last name as "Kill", his partner also handed me his card, his last name was Slauter. Needless to say they left be speechless. Both were a credit to CPD for their assistance to me. True Story.
Hey SCC
Come on down. You sound like you would fit right in.

I think you posted that 11 days too early
With the economy going down the tubes, we will see more of these events. Expect them locally as well. As always, texas leads in beer drinking, roping steers and gunning down armed felons ! No wonder Ted Nugent gave up michigan and went south. Consider teaching the wife or girlfriend how to fire a snub, and get her a FOID card to make it legal. Attempting to take a snub out of someones hand often results in the obvious. And for gods sake tell her to call the "po-leece" and sit tight with the kids, as opposed to trying to clear the house on her own !
When visiting the Houston area, no sightseeing trip would be complete without taking the hour trip north to the Walls death chamber unit in downtown Huntsville, the nation's busiest.
Visitors are not allowed to lie on the gurney.
Then take a drive over to College Station, home of the huge Texas A&M Aggie campus for dinner.

That would be Mike Kill.
GO TEXAS!
Mike Kill. One of the best and one of the nuttiest cops this city has ever had. Started in 010, made dick, then worked in areas 1, 3, and 2. 140 lbs. soaking wet but would stand nose to nose with the biggest prison muscled M.F. around.
Mike Kill--Great guy. NUTZ!!!!
Many years ago in Fillmore, officers Smith and Wesson were partners on 2nd watch. Wesson still pushes a beat car on the Westside til this day. Not that the natives were smart enough to grasp the irony, but I remember chuckling every time I saw them.
Holy New York City Batman!!!
Florida, Arizona and San Diego can't mess with Texas.
Don't mess with Texas! I'm going to miss President Bush. I'm sure everyone else will once Obamalot gets started.
Yee Hah!
Sounds like a good place to retire.
Dont mess with Texas !
Texas: It’s Like a Whole Other Country
Why do I have to move out of my home and city? Why can't we just rid of the crooks who are running the show are driving it to the ground and further below?
