Feds Squeeze ex-CPD
O'Hare has been a golden goose of possibilities for well-connected businesses and politicians. In the last year, Mayor Daley's own Inspector General David Hoffman has, according to published reports, been probing contracts and political connections out at O'Hare.
And now we learn the feds have in their clutches former Daley aide and Blagojevich chief of staff John Harris, who -- guess what? -- did two tours of duty for the mayor out at O'Hare. Harris was arrested on Dec. 9. The Kelly indictment spans airport work from 1998-2006.
Where was John Harris during some of those years? In 1999, the mayor named him first deputy commissioner of aviation overseeing the "future of O'Hare," the project manager for "design, financing and construction."

John Harris was hated at the PD. He treated people who had 30 years experience with contempt.
He told Superintendent Rodriguez that he wanted 1,500 Department employees fired for indebteness and when the head of the IAD told him he was insane he went crazy and cried to Daley.
He tried to implement the swiping device for Department employees when it was not tried and still does not work.
His CHRIS program in 2000 was a disaster and he blamed the Detective Division when they did not implement it or have any control over its operation or design.

Police are conducting a death investigation pending an autopsy, according to South Chicago District police. They confirm the body found was an adult male, but has not been identified. Chicago Auto Pound No. 2 2 is located at 103rd Street and Doty Avenue.

Mayor Daley has a sordid history of working his senior staff very hard for him without any reward or political support once that staffer leaves the fold. If that staffer attempts an independent political career, the ex-staffer is cut. As examples, Forest Claypool, Gery Chico, etc. The ex-staffers may "land on their feet", but their political ambitions are curtailed. Claypool would have been an excellent Cook County President, instead of Stroger or Stroger-baby. Chico's political career never took-off. Obama's career took-off due to unlikely lucky breaks and Daley's desire to get him out-of-town before Obama thought of running for mayor. Etc.
Anyways, Harris carried the ball for Daley out at O'Hare, and then tended Daley's business down in Springfield. Now that Harris is tainted by Blagovich, who stupidly never considered he may be wiretapped or otherwise he'd still be happily in office, Harris gets "thrown under the bus" to carry the full weight of the political corruption associated with O'Hare contracts. The real clout-meisters again remain protected.
Come on Feds, would you please get the Daley crime family! After all they are just like La Cosa Nostra!!

All due respect, but please, please do not ever refer to John Harris as ex-CPD. It gives the impression that he was a sworn member. He was nothing more than a mayoral political hack civilian lawyer, jammed down the throat of CPD as the Deputy Supt. of Admin Services, which was then, and is now in the form of O'Keefe, the ears, mouthpiece and snitch at CPD for the Mayor.
Harris was never CPD. He worked at CPD, but he was never CPD. While at CPD, he was an arrogant out-of-control ego-maniac civilian that treated sworn with nothing but contempt and, at meetings, was prone to the screaming and insulting form of management. He was, and is, despised, and deservedly so. Over the years, I have read and heard about a bunch of people referred to as a POS. John Harris is the the poster boy for the truest form of a POS.

He's perfected what he was taught years ago regarding the use of "Buffers" as he calls them. VERY few people actually talk to the idiot himself, and of those, INTENT is passed between them, NEVER any words that can be used against him in a court of law. He's perfected the art of speaking without having to speak so as to be held accountable for his words. For a small price you can have the yard workers place a body in a car that was previously searched by the recovering officer. This throws off the trail.
Years ago, a junk yard worker was paid to "drop" a car on another yard worker and made to appear accidental. (death investigation)
It is favorable for the city to classify deaths as death investigations even when the knife is buried in the back. " oh, he fell on it while dicing onions."

Start snooping around Walsh Construction, an "irish outfit" and contributor to the Daley clan.
