Looks like the SA Office used way too large a net in arresting SOS guys. Wouldn't surprise me if they Nolle'd the cases against more guys in the future. Hope the good ones are able to get their jobs back.

Read between the lines...the cryptic statement by the State's Attorney's office that AFTER speaking with the Feds, all charges were dropped. A few short days ago, M. Tobias gets moved to HQ. Sounds like the Feds have bigger fish to fry! But how far up will it go....how far will Daley let it?!?!?!?!?!

well i would like to thank all of the backstabbers in the cpd who had put all of these guys away in the penitentary without knowing all of the facts... for over a year people on this site have been mf'n all of those guys and everyone in sos without waiting for the outcome. now look, the "victims" and "witnesses" are being found to be full of sh*t. the only reason finnegan and hererra are still locked up is because hererra talked. if he would have shut his mouth he would have had charges dropped too and the only thing finnegan would have had to face is the hired hit that he was orginaizing...that is inexcusable on his part, but after all is said and done, i see hererra getting probation and finnegan getting 10-15 years. Way to stand behind your guys cpd.. i hope these two officers sue the sh*t out of the city, states attorney, us attorney, the victims and who ever the hell else they can get money from!

Just wondering if all of you who quickly judged these men are man enough yourself to say you were wrong!! Possibly, just possibly this was a case of malicious prosecution with questionable victims who themselves generated a ficticious story to avoid prosecution. Let us reflect on why someone looking at a ghetto lottery payday would discontinue to cooperate with the persecution/prosecution of these two officers? I have to say this job has very little loyalty within the ranks. The comments leveled here in this site from officers were no different then the same mindset the world has of the police, guilty until proven innocent. Shame on all of you quick to judge, slow to forgive. I hope you never have the same standard you judged by applied to you.

Only state charges were dropped. The feds are still investigating. Not over yet. I bet more than one person is singing.
Not for a moment should anyone think that this is the end for either Suchocki or Sherry. They're merely being turned over to the Feds. Wouldn't be surprised if they're not already in Federal custody. There is also zero chance that either will ever be back on the job. This was not a finding of innocense it was merely the State declining to prosecute at this time. State can always reindict.
How Come I go to Area 1 to get a pool car for my all ready aging and falling apart Crown Victoria and all of the cars are signed out to unit 141 out of head quarters. What the fuck to them useless house mouses need unmarked cars for? Let alone cars at all?

Yes it is true the officer was told by the w/c to non suited immediately after he had heard about the citation, the officer did his job and wrote the suv up for tints, it seems the law does not apply to j-fed. Perfect example of do as i say not as i do, and the usual case of a w/c who doesn t have the balls to stand by his ofc. I guess accountability doesn t start at the top, but only enforced at the buttom. AND TOO J-FED DC LUCIO A.K.A EDDIE MUNSTER AND EVERY KISS ASS W/C SGT FROM THE 014TH DIST. if the state wont prosecute at all the feds definatly will not. the feds do not prosecute unless they have an absolute rock solid case. the state dropped charges because the victims could not place them there. if the victims cant put them there once and charges are dropped, the feds definatly will not pick it up due to the fact that now most if not all the evidence against the two is tainted. its not because they are getting a deal to get the top guys...its simple, they have no where else to go. it was a different case against cozzi, he pled guilty in court and it was all on video. that case was an open and shut case for the feds, no investigation even needed. for the sos thing however, there is no evidence, in fact there now is evidence that has been contridicted by the victims which in the end run will be desasterous for everyone attempting to prosecute. these guys got off, if there is a federal indictment it will be to only save face, i see no productive sentences or even findings of guilty if there is a federal indictment. the entire investigation was a knee jerk reaction and they didnt do the homework they should have. if they would have been patient and really investigated this, then it may be an entirely different story.

Ok, I'll be the first to say it...I didn't believe "all along" that these guys were innocent. When you look at the big players in all of this like that pos JF, it was hard to not make assumptions about the rest. I'm just as guilty as the liberal media that I despise in that respect. However, that doesn't mean that I'm not happy to hear this latest news. It's good news for them and for the department. I hope that this is truly the end for them and they are able to put all of this in the past. We fool ourselves into thinking that we are not as quick to pass judgement as the media, liberals and other police haters out there, but we often fall into the same trap. Lesson learned.

I'm a detective, on the job more than 25 years now, and I know this girl who's done some legal work and legal research on this case (pro-bonon btw because she grew up in a cop family) and she's found more than a dozen loop holes in the State's case. Says she's confident that all these guys will get off because of illegal taps, innapropriate confessions, sloppy work on part of State and problems with the warrants, etc. Says it isn't looking too good for the case against these SOS guys because the State's attorney (and Shortshanks' team) was too quick to jump on these guys. Also points out that there is a lack of witness cooperation and without that, States Attorney has not real case. Before you all blow alot of shit my way, just trust me that this girl is good. Dont you recall a few months ago the mayor himself stating that squad cars must find legal parking spaces when responding to calls or they will be subject to parking tickets or maybe a tow? The driver is responsible for payment, not the owner of the vehicle.

The Bottom line is you can't do what SOS was doing.

Then, when the pressure builds the bosses bail. The entire department turns its back on you and says you did it all on your own. They press charges, put your picture in the paper, insult you, embarrass you, and demand you be fired and jailed.
It's happened before. Look at SOG, Gang Investigators, and Area Two Violent Crimes. Same game. Ignore the bad, reward the good, until it gets exposed, then throw everyone to the wolves to save themselves.

Great news for these two guys. Case was a blown out of proportion IAD illusion. The truth is some police action taken by a few SOS guys was in the gray area of law enforement. Did they or did they not have probable cause to detain or search people. The fact is they recovered a ton of dope, guns, and money. The fact is this stuff was all inventoried. The state had bank examiners look at the accounts of the SOS guys and they could not prove they had any more money than they should have. The fact is the "victims" of these crimes could not tell a story the same way more than once. They were incredible people in the eyes of the state, and they could not explain why they had tens of thousands of dollars in their houses anyway. The bottom line is that they were pisssed the police took their drug money so they beefed. If SOS took and inventoried $12,000 the "victim" said he had $20,000. On almost every search warrant you do this happens. They beef that you stole some of the money. It's there only chance of beating the case. SOS did not have search warrants but it's the same situation. Now what about the guys in call back? When will they be freed?
IT IS NOT OVER.
JFED was at cambell/division today and was given a ticket for tinted windows. But later the ticket was nonsuited.

Yes it is true the officer was told by the w/c to non suited immediately after he had heard about the citation, the officer did his job and wrote the suv up for tints, it seems the law does not apply to j-fed.

I would be willing to bet that none of you "knowledgable experts" were ever part of that group. Sometime ago there was a political party that historians claim to be extinct. You individuals are living proof that the "Know Nothing Party" still exists today.
Finally to those other anonymous creatures that crawl out of dark holes to attack others with your bile and vicious attacks, especially on an individuals family, you are but a reflection of your own inadequate being. I remeber the days that Tom and Carl were stripped, as well as the others, what do you say to them when these things happen? i felt bad for all of them i was there. The reason why the charges were dropped is that the dumbass asa's never bothered to check what evidence they had. On almost all of the charges Carl and Tom were not even working the days that these scumbag
dope dealers accused them of crimes. So the charges were rightly dropped. i know tom and carl are good men, if the city , state, or feds had anything they wouldn't drop the charges. so for the rest of you assholes saying look out fot the feds , you are 100 percent wrong. they are innocent, and the evidence bore that out to the asa's. tom and carl were always good to me and im glad they beat the case.

Yes it is true the officer was told by the w/c to non suited immediately after he had heard about the citation, the officer did his job and wrote the suv up for tints, it seems the law does not apply to j-fed. The PO writing the ticket and the PO who sent the fax from 014 have the biggest set of balls that hasn't been seen on this department for years. Talk shit about 014 but these Old School POs gave us something to laugh about and didn't give a fuck what could be done to them. Spar me, KMA... Take a day, KMA... Dont you recall a few months ago the mayor himself stating that squad cars must find legal parking spaces when responding to calls or they will be subject to parking tickets or maybe a tow? The driver is responsible for payment, not the owner of the vehicle.
To clarify above, on this department the driver of the vehicle pays for the ticket, not the city or the department.
