OT: Firect quote of Weis' press conference comments today.

"If I, from a firsthand look, saw that I was the cause of morale in this department, um, no one would have to ask me to leave. I would leave on my own.

But, when I'm out on the streets, I'm not seeing any indications of poor morale. When a ten-one call goes out, I see men and women scrambling to go out and help that officer."

Mr. Weis, what part of all those officers carrying "Dump Weis" signs today did you not comprehend? Morale stinks and you are a major reason for it.

Your presence here is offensive to most of us. Your wearing of our uniform is offensive to us. Your platitudes and empty promises are offensive to us. And your being paid TWICE the salary you are actually entitled to, when we can't get even a cost of living raise IS OFFENSIVE TO US.

Wow, the more things change the more they stay the same. This department is really doing down in flames and fast. These num nuts are really going to boost morale. Right!! J-Fed please just take the $300,000 X 3 years and get the hell out of here. Damn you are really missing the boat or you just don't give a fuck. Who is helping you with this shit?

Weis said....when I see a ten-one, I see men and women scrambling to help....or words to that effect. What the hell does that have to do with morale? Correction - the first husband/wife team to be promoted together were Irene and Jim Jones back in 1988. Amazing they were both in the first class, too!

4/02/2009 06:55:00 PM

You are correct, however, when all was said and done, we had a class of 267 Sergeants. Odds were, with such a huge class which was the biggest since O.W. Wilson in the early 1960's, that brothers, or sisters, or couples were going to be in the same class. If they had been promoting 50 at a time, twice a year, as they did in approx. 1981to 1986, would Jim and Irene have been in the same class? Dunno. Only Jim and/or Irene can tell us.

Really? ... I worked for randy, was one of the best sgts around. A copper's cop. Don't know how he was as a patrolman, but as a sgt he was fantastic. Knows the job inside and out, was a hard worker, and really took good care of his team. Couldn't ask for more from a supervisor. Whichever district inherits him just hit the jackpot...

So once again Jody failed to keep his word that things would be different under his leadership. Once again we see a promotion list consisting of the chosen few who are on their third merit promotion. This is white collar crime at its finest, handing out big paying jobs to the connected. Its really not that different than pay to play, a favor for a favor. You make my guy, i'll make yours. It's absolutely sickening. For those who actually earned it congrats and good luck. To those who made it 3rd time merit, you should be ashamed of yourselves. And for all the regular joe's that showed up at the march, You Rock!!

Now, that goof G. Klichowski, man good help anyone who works for him. He only took care of two people, himself and the other goofy sgt he worked with. Four hour days, five days a week. Boy that lt must be telepathic when he accidentally sent that email months ago confirming Carlos' merit lt spot. Funny how it all still works huh? Carlos is a phony and 3x merit jump on the paper career officer. I'm sickened.

And why not list the merit lt's score on the test next to his/her name? Let's see where his/her test placement was. If Weiser is so full of integrity, do it right all the way. What's there to hide?

Paula Schmeer has absolutely no management skils at all! I think she is also has OCD issues - she is very anal. She let the chevrons go to her head. What will happen to her now with LT bars. God help those working for her!

Mike Stiscak is a good guy. Congrats, Mike. Sadly, though, the JRD study group looms in the background. I know you'll do well, but too many of her Sgts faired well on the test. It raises questions. Thank goodness you are one of the good guys.

Sgt. Rick-a-shay from 018! Yikes! John, just relax! And please, please, try to remember you once were a blue shirt. No need to get so deeply involved. Get back to working a program and you'll do much better.

Once again, only one merit is from a district.

Nothing changes.

If you're not smart enough to get out of patrol, then you aren't smart enough to get a merit promotion.

Tongue my nads LT.

From legit Sgt - some clout! Hard work studying that paid off.

I wouldn't embarrass myself or clout by waiting to get it by fake merits.
Since I made it legit, going to a nice task force is easy.

the phyllis gill that is being described here is not the one i knew when she was in public housing. she was bright personable and worked her ass off and was not afraid to throw down with anybody. although she was not the leader of the group she never missed a day and never backed down. she was in court 2-3 days and could always be counted on. as far as being a racist never heard that from her. in fact she got static from the m/1's because she prefered to hang with the m/2's because that's who was out there working. so it's to that phyllis i have to say congrats.

Marc Moore finally made LT. It couldn't have happen to a better person. It is about time the Merit system was used correctly. Whoever has the "luck" in getting this LT, will be getting a boss who goes to bat for his troops, "knowledgeable" & approachable. Congrats from a P.O who worked for you in 189!!!
-------------

You are an idiot! MARC MOORE is a F#%KIN GOOF!! Here is a guy who gets stripped of a team, never shows up to work and now makes LT.
This shows why morale is low in the department especially in 189 now that he made LT. There are alot more qualified SGT.'s in that unit. And believe this he has NO knowledge of this job.Good Luck to the district that gets this stuttering GOOF!

Randy Darlin was one of the hardest working PO's I ever met. There are many thugs sitting in prison cells right now because Randy put them there. He knows the traps a PO needs to avoid. He's a great asset for the working police.

Brendan Deenihan knows more about this job than any other Sgt. I've met. Finally, this department might have a southside supervisor who actually knows what the hell he's talking about. A stand up guy who always backs workers.

Congrats and good luck to both of you. There are many PO's out there that are going to need help navigating the minefield in this fucked up department and this fucked up city. At least this job managed to promote two leaders who are up to the challenge.

MERITORIOUS QUIZ QUESTION of the day

What arrogant individual made:
meritorious SERGEANT,
meritorious LIEUTENANT
was appointed to COMMANDER and shortly thereafter to DEPUTY CHIEF
ALL in under 10 years???

Here is a clue:

His wife also makes meritorious sergeant and goes immediately to straight days/weekends off in a phony "ghost-payroll unit".

Oh . . another clue:
He "earns" the Lambert-Tree award for firing at a man with a gun and instead, shooting up a car while off-duty on the drug infested Westside. (What politician was behind that one?)

HEY NORTHSIDE . .
No wonder you have such a bad attitude after being fucked on your promotion and having the same SCUMBAG bosses lock you up.

It's no wonder morale is in the gutter and no one wants to ANYTHING!!

Correction - the first husband/wife team to be promoted together were Irene and Jim Jones back in 1988. Amazing they were both in the first class, too!

Correction-Irene made it in 1998 did all of a couple of months in 25 before flying right back to B&A and becoming commander. Of course 1998 was before the listed who got it on 'merit.
