Vote Tomorrow

  • This special election presents a window of opportunity to send a conservative voice to Washington — someone who will fight for the families and freedoms that are currently under attack. But I am just a regular citizen. I don’t have the support or financial backing of a huge, corrupt party behind me — that’s why I need people like YOU behind me.

And because this is such a rare opportunity, it’s crucial that we all exercise our right and responsibility to make our voices heard. April 7th is right around the corner. I encourage you to participate fully in this election, and to remind your family and friends in the 5th District to do so as well.
She marched with us this past week. She advocates fully funding the pension. She supports enforcing immigration laws.

Do we really need another Daley politico in Washington?

UPDATE: Did you vote? Record low turnout. Every vote counts a bit more today.

I understand wanting to vote Republican, but come on..... Rosanna Pulido is an idiot. I can't believe that she is the best that the GOP can do. I am all for voting Republican when the candidate is right - she is so wrong for all of us. I'll be supporting Mike tomorrow.

We might not NEED another one, but we're going to get it.

Pulido received 745 votes in the Republican primary...out of 2,900 Republican votes cast.

Quigley received 11,000+...out of almost 51,000 Democratic votes cast.

I am thoroughly convinced that we'll never be free of the corrupt Machine grip on city/state/federal politics.

Remember people, the true nature of the DEMOCRATS is that YOU are not smart enough to understand politics, therefore they will make YOUR decisions for you. However, the REPUBLICAN way of thinking is that one's own hard work and NOT being a SLAVE to the government by accepting ie; LINK, PUBLIC HOUSING, will get you ahead in life. By the way the old addage that if you grow up in ENGLEWOOD you will never be anything or go anywhere is TOTALLY FALSE!! I am living PROOF and will RETIRE a VERY WEALTHY MAN with a FAMILY!! EAT SHIT LIBERAL DEMOCRATS!!

Hi SCC, long time reader first time poster. I love your blog and appreciate your insight and reporting on behind the scenes machinations. However, I find it hard to reconcile your analytical thinking with the pro-Republican stance. I would think being politically independent is more in line with seeing the shortcomings of both parties and all politicians.

Besides, I'm pro-choice and could never support an anti-choice candidate.

4/07/2009 05:43:00 PM

You are ignorant! Blaming the current financial state on Bush is just what the Dummycrats want. Here's a thumbnail sketch of why our economy is in the toilet today! The Clinton white house CREATED Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to facilitate lending money to the dirty unwashed, uneducated masses (read: the basis of the Dummycratic party). Then, the 12th grade dropout, now flipping burgers at Mickey D's went and borrowed $350,000. to buy a townhouse and signed a ballon mortgage without reading the fine print. When his mortgage payment rose from the original $600 a month to $1800 a month, he defaulted on his loan. Multiply that scenario by 2 million and you see why the housing market collapsed. George Bush made reference to this possibility during his first term and was called an idiot by Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi. He doesn't look so dumb now does he?
And for all you idiot "union" tradesmen that vote Dummycrat because you think that they are the party of the "working man", remember that Clinton, not Bush, enacted the NAFTA treaty that sent hundreds of thousands of American manufacturing jobs overseas! Pelosi is laughing herself silly because idiots like you believe that the economy tanked because of Bush. It's simple economics.... the party that enacts economic reform is seldom in the white house when the changes occur. Hence, Clinton enjoyed years of American prosperity thanks to Ronald Reagan's economic policy.

Read a book once in a while and make up your own mind instead of listening to the "experts". Global warming, or is it climate change this week, is mostly hype. A good deal of gifted scientists believe this is so much National Inquirer hype. I've been reading the pros and cons for decades and the cons are plentiful and make more sense. The planet is a big place and despite what you've been spoon fed, hard to hurt on a global scale. Al Gore is a putz and a politician. Why on Earth would you take his word for it? A shill with an agenda....whos agenda you might want to ask.

Bad news guys, Rosanna lost. It seems that the majority of the voters want whats happening to our city and country to continue. The ever increasing progressive taxes which don't only pay for the government services but redistribute wealth. The ever increasing property taxes which are used to fund failing public schools that we can't send our children to. The ever increasing County taxes which fund so many broken social projects including Cook County Hospital or whatever it's called now. The forthcoming 50% tax hike that the governor has promised to bring to us. How much longer are we going to be able to afford to live here? Is all of our pay going to go to be spent on the whims of crooked politicians like Daley?
The future looks bleak and it will be bleaker for our children. They will inherit a country that was worse then the one we inherited from our parents. We've failed them.

So, that's where you draw the line?

Not on 2nd Amendment Rights issues?

Not on Tax and Spend/Waste issues?

Not on Pay to Play issues?

Not on Backroom Deals issues?

Not on Abortion as Birth Control issues?

Not on a Fair and Equitable Contract for 1st Responders issues?

Not on End Corruption in Government issues?

Not on Accountability and Authentic Transparency in Government Spending issues?

Not on Ending Illegal Immigrants Easy Access to Our Tax Dollars issues?

Not on Performance Based Accountability Standards for our Teachers issues?

Not about Required Work from the recipients of Government Subsidized Food and Shelter issues?

Just Is Global Warming Real or Exaggerated issues?

THAT'S really where you draw the line?

The only people bad for Illinois are the ones that have been fucking up our state, county and city for the past 20+ years.

And, yes, that includes the many RINO's who've sold their souls to the dumbocrats.

It's the substantial lack of principles, ethics and integrity that has been bad for Illinois.

And the obvious absence of brain functions in the vast majority of the electorate.

In a Democracy, the people get what they vote for or fail to vote against.

Democracy isn't a fucking force of nature, to be depended upon to reliably function, day in and day out, without any need for the people to do anything but enjoy the warmth of the noon day sun, and the coolness of a moonlit evening.

Democracy is a human created system of socialization, and, as such, is not perfect in and of itself.

It is only as successful at benefiting the people, as a whole, as the people, as a whole, make it.

That's why we need as close to a clean sweep turnover as possible.

Even a 26 to 24 win would work.

Imagine a city council that actually acts as the 'checks and balances' intended by our founding fathers.

That actually behaves as the legislative branch of our city's government that it is supposed to be.

Which 26 wards hold the most promise of their citizens electing a Blue Party Ticket alderman/woman?

Think about it.
