Catch Me If You Can

His forays into impersonating cops didn't go over to well. We guess he's impersonating criminals now:
  • This time, it was a spiffy suit and tie that allegedly got the 15-year-old behind the wheel of a car.

The Chicago boy was charged with stealing a used Lexus from a dealer Friday by pretending he was in the market to buy a car.

The same boy allegedly fooled Chicago police officers earlier this year into believing he was one of their own and allowing him to drive a squad car on patrol. The Tribune isn't naming him because he's a juvenile.

Wearing a suit and tie, the teen showed up Friday at the dealership in the 7200 block of South Western Avenue and inquired about a 1990 black Lexus four-door car. A salesman offered the teen a test drive, and the teen got into the vehicle. But the car's battery was dead so the salesman went to get a battery charger, said police spokesman Roderick Drew.

After charging the battery, the salesman offered to go with the teen for a spin but told the teen he had to return the charger. When the salesman returned, the teen was gone, and the car was too, Drew said.

And then, the story gets really good:
  • For the next three hours, the teen, who doesn't have a license, allegedly drove the car around before raising the suspicion of two Chicago police officers when he cut them off in traffic. Deputy Supt. Daniel Dugan and a police officer were leaving a roll call and on their way to dinner when the teen allegedly swerved into their lane, police said.

The officers noticed the vehicle did not have license plates and attempted to pull the teen over, police said.

The teen did not stop but instead led police on a chase through a McDonald's parking lot and more traffic before he allegedly crashed the vehicle into a light pole, knocking it down, police said.

The teen ran off near 95th and State Streets, at one point allegedly grabbing a stroller to pretend like he was part of the crowd, police said. It was not clear if the stroller was empty.

The teen, believing he was no longer being followed, let go of the stroller and continued walking when Dugan grabbed him, police said. The teen struggled with the deputy superintendent before breaking free. Dugan sprained his ankle in the struggle, but his partner grabbed the teen a short time later and arrested him, police said.

That explains a comment from a day or two ago that said Dugan was on crutches after a foot chase. Nice to see someone in charge who remembers what the job entails and isn't afraid to jump back into the game. Good job.

i can hear the defense attorney right now....

Officer, isnt it true that you found a stolen car, then you recognized my client walking down the street as the person that embarressed your department and grabbed him... then, as an act of retaliation arrested him saying he was in that stolen car just to get malicious revenge to embaress my client... your honor, i rest my case... what a sh*tbird.

When he stole the car, which was sitting on the front row of the lot he took off so quick living acceleration marks straight across western avenue where their just happened to be a brake in traffic. Western is usually packed during rush hour. This kids luck is incredible. His fate though will probably be long jail time or death.

Hats off to you boss. This is what happens when you LOOK for shit instead of answering calls and hoping to get a head that way.

Well now, we've all been praying for the rescue of our Dept. from the present administration, and if you think on it this kid could be our secret weapon. 1) He has ruined, or is ruining, the careers of some high rankers. 2) Now, he is embarked on breaking the command staff; come on boss, policework is a young man's game. 3) Then, there is the very real possibility that his next activity could gnerate a grabber or two at 35th street or city hall.

When the Good Lord answers our prayers they often aren't recognized as the answers we wanted, but are disguised as something else. But then, amazingly, in the fullness of time they prove to have been the solution that was in front of us all along. I think "Erkle" could be that answer. Sent here to do God's work, in a most mysterious way. Bless the boy, he ain't right, but God bless him.

Oh sure, just cuz he's a great guy, he's the REAL DEAL. Aunt Bea woulda done the same thing and not gotten hurt in the process.

She is our next Superintendent! The 1st Deputy rank will be reestablished and Dugan will run the Dept from there. When she falls on her ass (again!), Dugan will be promoted to Supt.

First we'll have to get rid of the current occupant, however!

Will they really wait until he kills someone? This almost reminds me of the movie Catch me if you Can...

As this car dealer let the kid drive, he should have been charged. Thank you, Mr. Kamal Said, for putting us all in danger by letting an unlicensed kid behind the wheel because you smelled money. But then again, I guess if you ask to see a DL, the mayor might get mad and say you are profiling. I hope the kid's next act is less dramatic, maybe he can impersonate an alderman or something.

This little clown may have a future in REALITY TV.

How about going up against Blago in the jungles of Costa Rica in "I'm A Celebrity... Now Get Me Out Of Here"? Or if the Courts restrict his travel like they did with Blago, He can compete in "SURVIVOR - CHICAGO" where he can try to outwit, outlive and outlast gangbangers with guns, knives and torches in the ghetto jungles of Chicago.

He could go on a new show called "Celebrity Police Apprentice, Exempt Edition" where he can tell J-Pud, Aunt Bea or Burger Queen, "YOU'RE FIRED"!

How about a special edition of "The Amazing Race" where the kid impersonates a cop and and chases himself driving a stolen Lexus?

He would seem to be a natural for , "Judge Mathis", "Judge Judy", "Judge Alex" or "The People's Court".

Maybe a new "COPS" called "COPS Impersonators, Exempt Edition" where he can try to fool people acting like the Superintendent, the 3rd in Command or a Commander in the 3rd District of a Major Midwest Metropolitan Police Department (Oops, there are already impersonators doing that!).

I guess while he's in jail, his momma could also get on TV, maybe on some game shows where she can settle some of the lawsuits that she filed against the CPD and the Sun-Times. Possible Reality game shows could be "Lawsuit Deal Or No Deal", "Lawsuit Let's Make A Deal", "Liability Wheel Of Fortune" or "JEOPARDY Settlements".

Whoever is in deep shit from his police impersonation needs to get their hands on the interview of the cardealer, who said he thought the kid was at least 25 yoa, and how the kid did not talk or act like a teenager. I said it b4 and I'll say it again, if this kid was being raised by someone with half of a brain, he would really be going in the right direction. I would like to see the results of an IQ test done on him, I would bet his is genius level. It is obvious he knows how to plan his adventures, now if he could just channel them for good causes, he has a future. The system does not know how or care to do right by this kid. He only got caught this time because he "cut off" an unmarked police car, thereby causing road rage, I believe he may have "cut off" the unmarked car on purpose to test the police.
