Anyone have any idea when the next examination will be for Chicago? I know there has to be someone reading these forums with access to the higher-ups that could provide some useful information.

If we get screwed like most people believe, will all the hard chargers still go out there every night looking to satisfy the lords. If not, whats going to happen with all these people? Where will they all land? I'm just glad I got my spot in patrol before "Rome" falls. Good luck MSF TRU and all you other go getters in your respective little units.

While rectifing an I-Pass situation today the person told me that the State/Tollways were going to start monitoring speed thru I-pass lanes, and failures to stop prior to entering the tollway.
I asked if it was for generating revenue or there was some other reason such as saftey.
The woman said REVENUE.

Some people know what is going on. I was on my way home yesterday and went into 7-11 to pick up some milk when a middle aged woman approached me. She saw my uniform shirt thru my cover-up shirt and asked me " are you a police officer" I responded yes. Instead of the usual telling me about how the beat officers on her beat are not doing their job or picking on her kid, she told me please be careful out there things are getting terrible in this city and the mayor will not hire any more police to help you or us. She then went on to say that when J-Fed was hired she really believed that things would get better but now she is discusted. She then asked me to be careful and said God Bless you. You see the word is starting to get out, You can't fool everyone Shortshanks.

An off duty CPD was at chicago ridge mall and decided to go for a ride on the merry-go-round (for children)....when the ride attendant stopped the ride because of some rowdy children this asshat lifted his shirt and showed his gun to the attendant and said "Want me to take care of em?"....So you are riding a merry-go-round in the mall and have no children with you and you decide to show your firearm????? And don't even state your the police????
Well the ride attendant was so freaked out by this asshats actions he called the chicago ridge police.
Chicago ridge police respond and when seeing this asshat walking in the mall with an obvious buldge in his side they took action. Well the off duty CPD started screaming and yelling "Im a chicago cop"!! he was taken into custody and after changing "his" version of the story 3 times the Chicago Ridge Police did an information report and let this sorry piece of shit go without incident.
Well this piece of work has been heard around the traffic court section on how "Chicago Ridge cops are assholes and we should hammer every one of them if they are stopped in Chicago blah blah blah".....and there is talk about how this piece of shit is going to sue the Chicago Ridge Police Dept and all officer's involved!
So listen W.S. (Traffic Unit) Metal plate in your head or not...you allready have a screw loose and if you want to ride the merry-go-round then thats your decision.....but don't make fools of the CPD by acting like an asshole...and be THANKFUL that your ass wasn't locked up!
I see there's a rising star in 20. Out there writing tons of parking tickets .Parked too close to the cross walk - ticket. Parked 3-4 inches over the yellow by a hydarnt or intersection - ticket.Parked too close to a driveway - ticket.These are all matters of inches and petty , but they're being written, and it seems like a lot of them. Funny to see the reaction of people in the morning when they see them, looking at where their tire is a few inches over the yellow by a hydrant, etc.
Sure she'll be rising up the ranks quickly.

Fatal Wall from St. Valentine's Day Massacre Acquired by Las Vegas Mob Museum
Las Vegas' Mob Museum exhibits will include the St. Valentine's Day Massacre wall where seven people were gunned down by rival Chicago gangsters on Feb. 14, 1929.
Mayor Oscar Goodman announced the acquisition this morning at an event marking the beginning of renovations to the historic federal courthouse building in downtown, which will house the Las Vegas Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement.
On that day 80 years ago, four men dressed as police officers entered a warehouse where members of a gang headed by George "Bugs" Moran were gathered. Moran's gang was fighting with a gang led by Al Capone. The fake police officers lined up the rival gang members and killed them. A coroner's report documented 70 machine gun bullets and two shotgun blasts.
The warehouse stood until 1967, when it was demolished. A Canadian businessman bought the wall and used it as an attraction at a restaurant. After he died in 2004, his heirs settled on the Mob Museum as a home for the wall.
The museum is expected to open in early 2011.
"It's going to be a fun place, and it's going to bring a lot of people downtown," Goodman said.
Just when I thought our uniform baseball cap looked ridiculous, now comes the cargo shorts. This looks even worse.

Why are there only two good sergeants in 023 on the 3rd watch. We all know who they are
but just in case you don't they are M.M. and P.C. The rest of the sgt's need to take a lesson from these two. Such a nice good place to work, but some supervisors really are demoralizing!
And since were on the subject of 023, can someone tell capt Lemmer that these missions are good to a certain extent but five to six a night are just plain stupid.

I could be wrong, but years ago, I seem to remember an effort to sell individual bricks from THAT wall, mounted in a shadowbox, being documented with a 'Certificate of Authenticity' and being sold at around $200 a pop. If memory serves me, very, very few were sold. Anyone else recall that?
And since were on the subject of 023 again, any rumors of changes there. I heard the mission captain is getting a commander spot. Anyone else here this too?

If the POTUS and the rest of the aldertheives and congressgoons really cared about this country and what going on, then the cash for clunkers program MIGHT have been a way to jump start the economy.
This is how, as an incentive, every one utilizing the cash for clunkers had to be spend their rebate on an higher mileage vehicle, built my 1 of the 3(or4) American auto manufacters.
The banks make the loans, the consumer gets a new/better car, people keep their jobs, factorys and other related industries stay open.
Just a thought, I'm sure someone is going to bash me.

Why don't you tell the whole story you arrogant asshole?
You mishandled it. Putting your foot in the door to block it and trying to give the lockup keeper a shove wasn't the smartest thing to do. Then, getting cocky and telling the Sgt what you will and will not do is why you got that CR. Try making up a different story---but that whole incident was recorded, as that building has cameras everywhere.
Real smart--demand that YOUR Sgt be called, because he'll straighten it out.
Even YOUR Sgt told you you were wrong.
All you had to do was fall on your sword, admit your mistake, and apologize to the lockup keeper and the Sgt. It would have been over.

I've heard this mentioned several times before, but I am dumbfounded by the fact that no investigative reporter has done a story on the lack of manpower in the CPD. This holds especially true due to the recent uptick in violence. As we all know, there is an extreme shortage of men in blue out on the streets, and the ramifications are significant. We also all know that both the city and the FOP are skewing these numbers for their own purposes. There's no doubt that the purported number of 509 officers is way off base. The real number is most likely at least twice that number. It wouldn't take much investigating at all to unearth these facts. Seems to me like there is a huge story here, just waiting for exposure. Why is it that noone will touch this story with a 50 foot pole? It is extremely relevant and needs to be addressed immediately. The reporters in this town need to grow some balls.

I live in Vegas now and you just got to love Mayor Goodman. What a change from Short Sh-t. The police here get a 3% cost of living raise every year. On their last contract they asked for 26% and Mayor Goodman gave them 24% in a matter of day's. What a gentleman. The average Policeman out here makes about 75,000 a year after 5yrs not including overtime. Goodman supports the police 100%.

As STUPID as this looks, give the Desk Sgt a pass on this one.
Once the lazy ass lock-up keeper beefs to the Sgt., he has one hour to initiate a CR or HE automatically gets jammed up for failing to get the CR.
Sounds like a beef for verbal abuse. If no one acts as a witness for the lazy ass lock-up keeper, the beef will be not-sustained anyway.
Hopefully, the officer was smart enough not to have witnesses present that were sympathetic to the lazy ass lock-up keeper before he spoke his mind.
Either way, ALWAYS keep in mind that the Desk Sgt really didn't want to get in the middle of all that bullshit to begin with... It caused him to do paperwork that he DID NOT want to have to do.

What's going to happen is that all your senior Officers that haven't already left in November with the 55 and out agreement, will grab their retro checks, free health insurance and wave bye-bye in their rear-view mirrors!
The decline in the number of Officers in the Districts may cause TRU or MSF to be reduced or disbanded until more people can be hired to replace the escapees/retirees that are sure to be fleeing at a fast and furious pace.
022 is done anyway, overpriced houses and an even higher crime rate. Not a dirty lil sceret anymore

Last time i heard, they were going to make a new exam, cause the one we have right now is outdated. However, new exam going to cost money, so not sure if they are going to keep using the old one or just hire people off the waiting list.

Sounds like lazy cops, maybe 022 needs some cops that want to do the job instead of the lazy do nothing cry baby cops that are there and scared of there own shadow. If 022 had cops like the ones that are in busy districts then there would be little crime. Most of the officers in 022 should retire so someone who wants the job can do it.

Rugai had nothing to do with Kuemmeth being made commander. In fact, she was initially in a panic over him being named because he is an eastsider from 004, not from the 19th Ward. Also, as far as the lockup encounter previously mentioned in 022, supposedly the PO was upset that he ouldn't get 2 prisoners in the lockup at once, with one beiong held in the bullpen in back while the first one was processed. Words were exchanged, the foot in the door by the PO, a quick shove supposedly happened, and then words between the PO, lockup guy, and the desk sgt.
Words of advice: it would be nice for the lockup guys to use the bullpen in this instance, but nothing in the orders mandates this. If there was a problem, the proper course of action was to notify desk sgt and/or watch commander. This one is a big loser for the PO involved.
P.S. I and many others appreciate the outside help in 022. Please keep coming. If you need help in a situation like this or any other, please ask. I and many others can and will do so for you.
P.P.S. Not everything you are reading here about Mike Ryan as the new Tact Lt is true. Yes, he has connections, no doubt. Yes, some people will leave the teams. That's his choice as the new boss back there. you serve at his and the commander's will. You can be dumped for many and any reason. I have been there. Sometimes, change is good. There's a number of people there in a rut, and he was given orders from very high up to shake things up.
speaking of the west end of 022 and the new 022nd dist tact LT. mike ryan. over heard at 022's golf outing that he is using his spot as tact lt to advance his career. 022 tact has finished last or near last in the number arrests in the past few months. what do u expect when 2 tact cars are doing details. one detail has since been given back to the watch. why are the police doing these details anyway??? now 022 is accepting to-froms for tact. are there openings or will there be dumps??? anyone notice that tact lt m. ryan had his cousin cmdr k. ryan of tru send tru units to 022 lately? but only on the east end.

I saw a quick news7 story about JF from SOS doing a murder for hire. They showed a pic of JF, KH, and CS I hope it is not true.
I recently had the opportunity to see pictures of the academy golf outing. To my complete disgust , I saw a federally convicted drug dealer in one of the pictures. (Rick Marrella-well known in the 8th district). My friend, who is not part of the academy did not know whose guest he was. I know that police officers are not allowed to socialize with convicted felons so who had the nerve to bring him to a police function?
If this is about 3rd watch then the sgt(s) who typicaly work the desk had to issue a cr...they dont want anyone calling them a lazy fuck...cause thats what they are lazy fucks, the desk sgts and lockup keepers. it adds an extra couple of hours to any arrest because they dont want to do any work, so the dont, to show you not to arrest anyone on there watch. the truth hurts lazy fucks

I live in Vegas now and you just got to love Mayor Goodman. What a change from Short Sh-t. The police here get a 3% cost of living raise every year. On their last contract they asked for 26% and Mayor Goodman gave them 24% in a matter of day's. What a gentleman. The average Policeman out here makes about 75,000 a year after 5yrs not including overtime. Goodman supports the police 100%.

Last time i heard, they were going to make a new exam, cause the one we have right now is outdated. However, new exam going to cost money, so not sure if they are going to keep using the old one or just hire people off the waiting list.
Why would they discard the results from the old test? Not like the city spent thousands on background investigations, drug screenings & medical/psych tests for these people. Chicago being around 1/2 billion in debt a new, redesigned test probably isn't in the cards.

Cant speak for the stop part but other states use their version of I Pass to time cars and if you go from one to another too soo you get a ticket for speeding. I believe Ohio does this.

just get the CR #'s on the lock up keepers. i've done it before. look at the lock up guys in 003. civilian lock up keepers bossing around po's and on top of that they're wearing plain clothes and not even in uniform.
