Yup, we're ready for an international event like the Olympics:
3 people were shot and wounded in the South Side's Washington Park neighborhood this evening, police said.
The victims, described only as males, were shot around 6:30 p.m. on the 5700 block of South Michigan Avenue [...]
Two victims were in good condition and one was in fair, Kilmer said. They were being treated on the scene as of 7 p.m., he said.

In another Lincoln Park mugging, the victim fought off three men trying to rob him last night. But police said they had not connected the incident to four earlier robberies in the same neighborhood.
Police only had a vague description of the attackers.
Police issued a community alert in those cases and described the men as in their early 20s.

Combine 002 and 021, 002 could use the help and 021 is always slow. But hold on 021 was cited as being the 3rd safest District to live in. If you combine them or close 021, crime rates go up and property values go down. Hey Alder creatures are you listening.
look what happened sunday night at the green line 200 yards from washington park. This is the closest stop by the park. 4 guns recovered. at least 4 shooters, maybe more having it out on the platform. how nobody was shot is telling on their aim.

The whole arguement that we shouldn't get the Olympics because our homicide rate is high is getting old. First off, I'm not a Daley troll. I can't stand the short f*ck! I pray every night that we don't get the Olympics, but take a look at the other Olympic bid cities' homicide rates...Rio and Madrid have thousands of homicides a year. Tokyo is comparable to ours but is probably still higher than us. The numbers are mostly likely under reported due to fear of retaliation.
