Funny Website

The creative spirit runs wild:
They've got all sorts of fun. Countdown clock, count-up deficit meter, match the cost overruns to the Olympic city. It's amusing.

Six days until the announcement.

Daley is taking it very serious. They are attempting to find out who owns the site by all means.

NO GAMES CHICAGO!

I really, really hope that the CPD is well-represented at the last NO GAMES protest rally downtown this Tuesday.

You all know better than I do whether or not it would be good for you to appear in uniform to protest the games. But however you appear, a large number of Chicago's finest turning out to protest the games might be the last straw for the IOC.

Let's make it clear that this is not a "conservative" nor "liberal" thing. The people and groups opposing the games are a veritable cross-section of the city, and represent every social class, ethnic group, and shade of political opinion.

Most Chicago police do not want these games. Poor black people in the neighborhoods surrounding Grant Park do not want the games, because of the displacement and diversion of public money. Rich white people in Streeterville and the near north side do not want these games, because of the disruption to their neighborhood and additional costs to taxpayers. The League of Women Voters has gone on record opposing them. Lakeview residents do not want the games because of the destruction of nearby park for the tennis courts. People everywhere else in the area do not want the disruption and cost to the public till.

Nobody wants the games now that they are cognizant of the costs to the city and the citizens who support it.

Only Daley and his coterie of cronies who will be the economic beneficiaries, want these games.

This is all I need to see!

Projected Olympic cost overruns:

$195 million.........2006 Turin

$875 million.........2010 Vancouver

$1.4 billion.........1992 Barcelona

$1.5 billion.........2000 Sydney

$2.8 billion.........1976 Montreal

$8.6 billion.........2012 London

$17 billion..........2004 Athens

$25.7 billion........2008 Beijing

It should be noted that the top two "cheapies" were for winter Games where, for the most part, only ice and snow are needed, and not stadiums and swimming pools etc. Also, there are fewer athletes and events than in the summer.

It took 30 years for Montreal to retire their $2.8 billion dollar debt from the 1976 Olympic Games.

If that were to happen to Chicago, that would last till the year 2046!!!

That's a long time to be cursing the Stuttering Prick for taking this city into financial ruin!

The hell with letting the world know what a world class, cosmopolitan city Chicago is.

I prefer for it to be the hidden gem on the shores of Lake Michigan and the midwest's best kept secret, if you don't count the murders, shootings, stabbings, beatings, rapes, robberies, burglaries etc.

And they pay their sweat shop employees $2 dollars a day. What's the overrun going to be when we're paying the flag holder on construction sites $30 an hr and crane operators $100 an hr???

Why would Daley get his shorts in a bunch over that site? No Games Chicago, the principle anti-games organizer, has had its site and petition up for MONTHS now. This little site you linked is an afterthought.

Chicago has the most aggressive opposition of any city bidding for 2016. Also, Rio is pledging a bigger budget- $14.4 Billion, than all the other bidding cities put together.

I really think Rio will clinch it, but that does not mean relax.

See Y'all downtown Tuesday.

The real kicker is that I (and most Chicagoans) can't afford even a one day ticket to the events.

If We don't get the Olympics, perhaps we can have a circus event instead. Daley & the aldercreatures can be the clowns & entertain us by sobbing & gnashing their teeth because of all the money they almost made.

Fuck Daley and all his Stooges !!!!
