Vandals Waive Hearing
Once again, an awesome turnout at the hearing. Half-assed reporting though:
- More than 60 Chicago police officers jammed into a tiny courtroom at Belmont and Western, in defense of what they consider "their turf": the Grant Park memorial dedicated to the city's 540 fallen officers killed in the line of duty.
The officers are still angry that vandals spray-painted graffiti on the monument on August 26th, and they wanted to show their concern as three of the teenaged suspects appeared in court.
Reports from actual non-media types who can count put the attendance figure at closer to 100.
And it's our "turf"? It's a Memorial to 540 people who gave up their lives for this ungrateful city. A small piece of land in honor of their sacrifice.
In any case, the defendants waived their hearing, opting to go directly to the Chief Judge for assignment to a courtroom to be announced later. By waiving the probable cause hearing, we imagine we'll be seeing guilty pleas shortly. It's the best play for them if they have clean records. Expect probation and maybe community service.
A big thanks to everyone who showed up the past few appearances - On and Off duty PO's, Gold Star Families, Police Supporters, a few Exempts and Rabbi Wolf from the Police Chaplains. If we've forgotten any notables, you can name them in the comment section. Again, thank you all.

OT: Keep New Jersey officers and families in your prayers. NJ officers shot while executing a no knock search warrant. God speed brothers !
Request for J-Fed Haiku filled:
late summer in six
J-Fed at outdoor roll call
Eggs fly and he flees
I gotta laugh at the idea of the memorial being "your turf." The whole damn city is, or should be, your turf. And the memorial belongs to the friends, families, and fellow officers of the fallen, in addition to the whole city since those lives were lost in the defense of the worthless a-holes.
Just a not so subtle dig by a leftist reporter at the CPD.
I'm sorry I couldn't be there. But, thanks very much for everyone who took their own free time and showed their support.
God Bless the CPD and may the fallen CPD heroes rests in peace!

funny enough, both women were transported to Illinois masonic for treatment the hospital that was one the news a day earlier with the nurse incident.
I did a count and along the walls alone there were 43 officers with others in the seats and hallway. The court advocates were there from 008 filling a row. I saw one woman with a button on with Michael Ceriale's photo and another with a button I couldn't see sat with Derrick Blakely.
The defendents were scared shitless as were the "adults" with them. Their community service ought to be keeping the Police Memorial clean and washing the wall at least once a week.
OT/ What the hell happened at the medical section????
It was a great turnout!
I saw some old friends and made some new ones!
Hey, let's do it again on the 14Ooct09!!
You're very welcome Office.I showed up for a few reasons. Mostly the 12 friends of mine and to look those little snot nosed pricks in the eye.I caught the crappy news blurb later in the day,(thanks SCC) and the coverage was blase'.The looks on many of the PO's as they walked out of Court said far more than that interview ever could have hoped to. To ANYONE from 009,The fat little waddling male offender has 24 hour home confinement until 14 Oct 09. Im sure THAT isnt going to be adhered to (HINT HINT) There is an "unofficial" dinner reward for the one(s) that catch this little fat bastard violating the terms of the Special Conditions. Insofar as the other 2 they are allowed one hour before and one hour after school other than that they are confined to home until 14 oct 09. And I will see you all AGAIN on 14 Oct 09.
I was not there, but I am told as part of there bond they are on Home Monitoring/House Arrest. The two in school can only leave home for class about 2-4 hours a day.
Similar with the adult.
Can anyone confirm.
Maybe they should only be outside in orange jumpsuits or prison strips, carrying a ball-n-chain.
They should be served with a civil process for the clean-up cost.
Thanks to all who showed up for their support. Now we need to know who's court they will be assigned to (same branch?) so that they don't walk away without some sort of conviction.
OT/ What the hell happened at the medical section????

Heard it was an East Coast--West Coast "beef", awwight?
(I'm not the best writer around so I hope what I'm trying to say makes sense)
The stupidity of these 3 vandals has shown me that despite our differences [and occassonal in-fighting], we can all pull together when need be: sworn, retired, civilian, blue shirts, exempts, people of different races and faiths all crowded into that court room to show that we all stood together
Just a not so subtle dig by a leftist reporter at the CPD.

Nice catch.... the leftist media does it all the time. Their hidden agenda is not so hidden anymore. Cant wait to retire and
move to a RED STATE...
...Their community service ought to be keeping the Police Memorial clean and washing the wall at least once a week.
9/24/2009 12:04:00 PM
I think that's letting them off too easy. Their community service should be cleaning Lower Wacker or pedestrian tunnels (urinals) under LSD on a hot day.
Derrick Blakeley's article shows correctly what POS newspapers are hiring these days and why they are going out of business. By writing that we were upset and we were defending our 'turf', shows what contempt and dislike these Libtards have for us. He is basically putting us on the same level of a gangbanger or thug.
He ignores the fact that these fine Officers lost their lives protecting the citizens of the City of Chicago. They are heroes and that courtroom should have been packed by more outraged citizens who are insulted by the actions of the three knucleheads. Unfortunately, the city is filled by apathetic sheeple like Mr. Blakely, who spend their lives ignorantly bleating for the huge teat of Government to take care of them.
Stay safe brothers and sisters, go home to your families at the end of your watches. God Bless you all.

I agree about the bias of reporters....so what do you say some of us quit giving them information whenever we want to settle a grudge or fuck someone over. To me,that has been a very troubling trend...on many levels.
Have them clean the the whole place with at TOOTHBRUSH!
Yes it was a very good turn out I was there and we had more then 60 officers in court 09 th District Court Advocates were in the front to rolls along with some 08th district Court Advicates, the Alderman from the 11th Ward also came to court to show him support. It is not over yet, next court date is 14 Oct 09 26th Cal. rm 100 900AM.
