Proud Day in Illinois

  • For years, U. S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. stood eagerly in front of microphones, crucifying the Chicago City Council and Mayor Richard Daley over their blase attitude toward corruption.

"For the last six years, we've read and seen nothing but corruption, greed and malfeasance throughout much of city government," Jackson said in 2006. "A mismanaged affirmative-action program, a Hired Truck scandal, an asphalt kickback scheme and a major Colombian drug connection with dealers selling drugs while on the public payroll."

He toyed with the idea of running for mayor, saying he was determined to "change the culture of corruption in Chicago, and that will require rooting out waste, fraud and abuse, root and branch."

How ironic that Jackson (D-2nd) was included on last week's "Most Corrupt Members of Congress" list, compiled annually by the nonpartisan watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. He joins U.S. Sen. Roland Burris, who also made this year's report.

But we'll never see a real challenger take him on in the 2nd District. The corruption is too ingrained. Burris is already toast.

The most corrupt politician is Da Mayo second is Da Stoger. Da Stoger has a card up his sleeve and vows to run against Da Mayo for mayor (if he does not win re-election as County Board President). Da Mayo to soon endorse Da Stoger. This country, state, county and city are screwed. Our only hope is Garrido! Word has it that Da Mayo does not like coppers running for elected offices. Watch out Garrido he is EVIL and will make you pay!!!!!

What's the sense of being a corrupt Illinois politician if you can't act like one?

This is why the boundaries of Congressional Districts should be compact and contiguous, not the convulted mess that they currently are!
Patrick Collins recommended this and Dictators Madigan and Cullerton responded by saying NO.
Throw all of the bums out in the next election cycle.

J Tres is no doubt corrupt having learned extortion, blackmail and bribery at his daddy's knee. The only difference is J Deuce never got caught and prosecuted. J Tres doesn't have daddy's Rev title to protect him from the law.

Jackass Jr. has only seen corruption, greed and malfeasance in the last six years? Daley must've pulled his lips off the city teet 6 years ago then. The graft has been going on since 1837.

He should demand a investigation of these people:
His Father (Jesse)
His wife.
Then after all the indictments and jail time, he could start with all his close circle of friends

Too bad about JJ Jr. I was counting on him to defeat Daley. We had a past police deputy supt. who was a candidate for the top job. Daley feared him because he was popular and was black and could run for mayor. He did not get the job and he went to Washington DC and now is in Philly. Instead we got a superintendent who would do as he was told by city hall and sell everyone out.Daley will never appoint an independent as superintendent. The police department is just another patronage tool with jobs and pensions to hand out to those connected.

Waste, fraud, and abuse? When Huberman was Chief of Staff to the Mayor he told WBBM AM that that City employment practices are a complete meritocracy. Maybe they could team up and create utopia.

JJ, and JJ Jr are about making $$$$ any way they can. They are scam artists & extortionists. They were never interested in eliminating corruption, they only wanted to get a "slice of the $$$ pie".

To the comment made at 12:27: Thanks for the heads up... The Christians were not like by the Roman empire, and look what happened. The Roman empire adopted Christianity, thus Roman Catholics. So if modern coppers need to be the instrument of social change for public good, we will need to play with the lions. Vote for change. Third party candidates that share our values.

I'm voting for Garrido..... I hope he isn't related to that goof in California.

The time is right for the GOP to nurture a savior for this city.

Is this supposed to be a revelation? Breaking News?
When did you find this out? Do you have proof? You fool. I suppose next post you will reveal that Daley has lied in the past and that some aldermen are suspected of illegal acts. Go get a job putting groceries into bags.

That was Chuck Ramsey, same thing was done with Paul Valis, School Superintendent. Or, they set them up on phony charges like Marium Santos, Shortshanks I am sure never discusses money directly.

The thing about J.J.Jr., I heard for union people was, "You could do business wth him." But, then corruption begets more corruption.
