Over 670 comments and they're still rolling in.
We've moderated almost 1,000 comments all day with surprisingly few deletions.
We had something like 180 comments in the first hour following the Olympic vote and we were doing over 1,000 visits an hour for 4 straight hours (including a peak of 1,600 at one point).
As of this writing, we've surpassed 16,000 visits for the day and over 22,000 page views.
So we extend an appreciative "thank you" to everyone who came by. Thanks for making us part of your informational choice. Stay tuned as we're sure more than a few scandals will emerge from this monumental Shortshanks failure.

My unit went up for grabs with relief and the boss was happily phoning everyone he could think of with the news. SCC was always part of the conversation.

This sgt was at a rare training session for and about handling Vets with brain injuries, post traumatic stress related problems and what to do with them as they are becoming the new majority homeless on our streets. Best inservice training in years as our CPD vets participated! That being said, the whole academy broke out in cheers and spontaneous applause at the lost 2016 bid. This happy resounding cheer was from ALL Districts % Units across the entire city! Just saying the real silent majority in Chicago apparently won, and tax payers like me finally could have 1 good day. thanks to g-d!
OT - Drivers license renewal fee to go up from $10 to $30
Why don't they increase the fine for the illegals that are here and DO NOT have drivers licenses because they don't have SS #'s?????

I expect to see Cook County Board President Candidate, Lt. John Garrido, to be upfront and leading the troops if he expects a single police vote.
Mike Shields was elected by us to represent us, he had better be upfront leading. Mike loves to tell the story about how his brother led the troops into the Mayor's office during the last contract march. Talk is cheap, lets see you lead us now. No more talk about taking Daley out. Talk is cheap, we demand action.
Jimmy Maurer can now lead us too, now that he got a taste of City Hall. Jimmy it's time to ante up and lead the mean and women like a real General would do.
I also expect to see all of the FOP & PBPA officers leading from the front. If you expect us to vote for any of you, LEAD!
The time is now, the media is keenly focused on Chicago and the Mayor is weak.
