And Then There Were Three

  • After filing candidacy papers for two offices in the February primary, U.S. Rep. Danny Davis decided Monday to seek another term in Congress.

The Chicago Democrat had been wavering between running for Cook County board president and seeking re-election in the 7th congressional district, saying he wanted to know who would be on the ballot before he made a final decision.
One more to drop out? Preckwinkle or Brown? One is a Machine stalking horse that has been used before to split minority support which Toddler needs desperately to win. And can suburban republicans be bothered to come out en masse and vote against the Toddler should he win the primary?

I got a chuckle out of WGN news who said that Danny Davis now is in the position of being a "KING MAKER" as he prepares to endorse one of the remaining candidates.

HA! KING MAKER! What a joke.

Vote Johnny G.! John has worked hard in his bid to run for Cook County President. It wasn't long ago, maybe a couple of years, when Johnny got on this blog and called out the cowards that were bashing Phil Cline's set-up of the police memorial.

We need someone with brass balls like John, who let the Elgin chase go.

Everybody, my grandparents, mom and dad, brothers and sisters, including myself will be voting for the man!

Go John go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another one who should withdraw from a race?

Pat Quinn!

Why? Because today, he intends to release the 1000 inmates from the IDOC that he's been talking about doing.

Unleashing criminals back on society instead of making cuts into governmental waste and giveaways to those who refuse to work. typical elected official. F U Pat Quinn!

I barf a little when I see the word "seek re-election" applied to Danny Davis.

Danny's got a gerrymandered seat that's safer than a bank vault. Ever look at his district? A big chunk of the West Side where votes are a foregone conclusion. And then there's a corridor connecting all those West Siders to a bunch of lakefront dwellers who are about as disenfranchised as your average Russian.

Stop wasting your time with a republican candidate that doesn't have a chance of winning. Everybody knew that Todd was a dirty candidate (hello, they hid the fact that his father was basically dead before the primary), and he still won by 100k votes. A republican doesn't stand a chance in this race. Go vote Dem in the primary and vote against Todd there if you want him out.

If Stroger is truly the chosen Democrat candidate, then this clears the way for John Garrido to be elected.

Stroger is hugely unpopular among both Republicans and Democrats. Currently, there are only two candidates running on the Republican side. John Garrido, a 41 year old police officer/attorney of Mexican & Irish heritage, and Paul Keats, a 60 year old rich white guy from the north shore (Kenilworth). Who do you think is more appealing to crossover voters in a Democratic region?

The answer is clear. John Garrido has a very good shot at beating Todd Stroger.

Go John!

I am guessing you may have heard that IL is broke and has to cut costs somewhere.

You can't really expect them to cut services for the welfare class and illegals.

Seems to me that neither of you have much of a life. Someone that bashes the candidate in the early morning hours, or yourself, promoting and sucking up at one am. I don't know what your being promised if he wins but I hope it's good.

Fuck no! Those are the best people in our society that we need to take the utmost care of. I couldn't see ever depriving anyone of the absolute RIGHT to wake up at noon, get drunk and high all day, make babies that we pay for and shoot random people with illegally purchased/carried guns.

What the fuck was I thinking? Hell, I think the state should not only release more prisoners, but I think the ISP should show up to the most law abiding citizens houses, and ROB them, to provide funds to give the inmates a fresh start!

GIVE ME A BREAK ! ! !

I suppose when he ran and was elected as the head of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, he did it without help from the mayor, right?

I suppose he doesn't owe Daley for his ENTIRE POLITICAL EXISTENCE, either? Is that really what you think we'll believe???

He may be white and have a kid on the job, but he's still just another political hack, Daley puppet, same as Stroger!

Oh, and him loving the police will only benefit the County, NOT THE CPD!

I now John Garrido and he is no Paul Keats. Having said that, we must get rid of this liberal, leftist, Democratic stranglehold on the Presidency of the Cook County Board. Can you imagine how much fun it would be to watch the westside reverends and people like Danny Davis howl if their guy lost? It would be great. So do what I do. Vote democratic in the primary. Vote AGAINST whatever candidate the Dems put up. Then, in the general election, vote for either Garrido or Keats.
