"Security?"
Like many other big illegal parties in Chicago, the one in Lawndale Sunday had liquor flowing and DJs spinning in a former industrial building.
But this one also had what police called "an elaborate, club-style entry to the building," with four industrial spotlights lighting up a sign and stanchions and velvet ropes marking the entrance.
The party was busted when a neighbor who heard the blaring music coming from the 4400 block of West Fifth Avenue called authorities to complain, police said.
- Police found the two doormen, [...] were carrying guns, and on searching the building, found a woman with a gun, [...] as well as five other handguns in other parts of the building. The three were charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon and other gun-related crimes, and are being held in lieu of bail at the Cook County Jail.
Nine guns total? Sure seems like "security" may have been missing the point of going through party-goers. Of course, having an illegal party with 300 or 400 of your closest friends while advertising your presence with rolling spotlights, stanchions and velvet ropes at the entrance doesn't make us think it was a bunch of brain surgeons running this thing either.

I'm sure if you dig you can find ties to the alderman .
The Mob has taken control of this city .
I did not know that one needed a license to be a DJ. Just how many worthless laws do we need.
Another party that Vice had no idea was going to happen. Gotta wonder. Two-three hundred people, guns, dope. Ernie, Walter what is going on!
It's just a 21st century version of the "Rent Parties" of olden days ! Of course they was armed. The folks giving the partay know's that "Thugs & Gangsta's" be on the prowl in da Ghetto.
Where was the License Unit? Thought closing private clubs was their specialty. At least that's what they tell us in the district.

But, it reinforces your comments in the first thread about what the streets have become. Who the hell does something like this? People with no respect for rules, regulations, ordinances, their neighbors, authority, getting caught, repercussions, fines, jail, nothing. They do not give a shit about anything that has structure or is beneficial or constructive because they it's all about them. Their lives are excuses and blame and enabling their pathetic existence in a way that makes the people who have to share the planet with them cringe. It's like a cancer that is spreading everywhere neighborhoods have disintegrated and Section 8 vouchers are accepted. And our government and politicians, because they are gutless, ball-less, fearful useless pieces of shit do nothing because they want to be re-elected and they got theirs. So it goes.

Memories of Christmas and New Year's Eves Past in Fillmo'.
Was it me? I concede my "correlation" was less than empirical.
It seems that the blocks with the most Christmas lights and displays had the highest homicide counts over the holidays.
Henny Penny got this via her cell phone. Ha!
This commander wants a promotion so bad she can taste it...
"I'm positive that we prevented a shooting or homicide that night," Harrison District Cmdr. Penelope Trahanas said.
The illegal party was broken up thanks to a tip called in to Trahanas, who has given out her number to area residents who've previously complained about the unauthorized gatherings.
These parties, often advertised on the Internet, draw large crowds often crammed into small spaces that serve alcohol to club goers, some of them armed, Trahanas said. The lack of appropriate exits adds another element of danger, she said.
"It's a fire hazard, we don't want another E2 type of situation," Trahanas said, referring to the former South Loop nightclub, where 21 people were trampled and scores more injured in February 2003.
New name for Chicago, Gotham City, anything goes! Sems like Chicago is getting like Tombstone too with all the armed crazies shooting up the town! Be careful out there! This ain't Hollywood and no one yells, "CUT!"
What is an illegal party??
It is legal to carry weapons on private property.
I'm quite distressed, handguns are illegal in Chicago, why would good citizens have such disregard for the law?
That's right, good citizens don't disregard the law.
It is happening in other districts. We are unable to control the situation for fear (of lawsuit) and of an E2 type of stampede during entry and custodial procedures. The wire is breached and we have hired the enemy.
CPD has no authority to close down any party legal or otherwise only people who can are revenue and fire and as of the first of 2010 they will be stripping the Vice Unit of the licensing aspect pertaining to liquor licenses awarding and backgrounds.
With revenue taking over you will see a lot more after hour and illegal "Clubs" popping up. If you did not find any guns or drugs at this "Private Party" you have NO authority to close that event period and thats the way City Hall wants it.
As far as EB goes he owes to many favors to reverands and the use of his "Violence Reduction Team" is nothing more than a glorified tact team at his beck and call, keeping the entire Vice unit south of 35th ST. for over a year already has done nothing Ernie, I wonder if any of the Westside and Northside ALDERMAN knows that nobody in the prostitution unit is alowed to work any other part of the city thats why you have so many girls working the streets and hotels up north and out west! Oh lets not forget the massage parlors, their all over now under your leadership. Our fearless leader who's afraid of her own shadow right Eve. Are you next to go!

Your absolutely right. Why dont you reqwuest the vice lt come to your district and talk about what theunit used to do. Its a disgraceful embarrassment. SHE is the reason vice is fd up. 100 percent her fault. Then add the chief to the mess.
"Their lives are excuses and blame and enabling their pathetic existence in a way that makes the people who have to share the planet with them cringe. It's like a cancer that is spreading everywhere neighborhoods have disintegrated and Section 8 vouchers are accepted."
The same sentiments have been express in the comments section over at “Chicago Breaking New” in regards to homicides and robbery’s occurring in once livable Chatham. I wonder if there is any truth in it.
Geeze didn't anyone tell them that its against the ban to carry guns in his "assholinesses" kingdom.... off with their heads.
Hey Sal, your informant gave you the wrong party to hit, Ha Ha! Too bad this wasnt the illegal party you hit on your search warrant!
"D.O.C." HAHAHAHAHA....
If something would have happened, it would be the police fault.
I don't know, SCC...sounds like that West Side rave has better security than my station does! We get people staggering in every night challenging us to fight them in my District!
Did anybody check to see if the party goers all had health insurance cards? 'Cause thats gonna be the law soon and I'm sure they were all law abiding citizens.
Hell it sounds almost like some of those "Watch Parties" that were held at "MIKES".
The sky is falling! I can't believe people threw a party!! NO RESPECT. NONE.
And our government and politicians, because they are gutless, ball-less, fearful useless pieces of shit do nothing because they want to be re-elected and they got theirs. So it goes.

We elect them, and we keep letting it happen. There's a reason the 2nd Amendment exists, but we've been trained to be afraid of our responsibility.
Imagine a fire in a place like this. It would make the e2 fiasco mild by comparison.
License Unit, what! is run by the one and only Evie (how about a slice of pie) Gushes. Or how I learned to chase rabbits in my back yard and place orders on the internet while still at work.

I am guessing these clowns were felons or otherwise prohibited from owning firearms. I can't see that at least in the case of the doormen how it could otherwise be UUW at all, assuming they had permission from the owners.
I drove by and thought they were filmng a new Smirnoff commercial...You had to be there.
Hey, I gotta do what I gotta do to get these bosses promoted

Quinn to end controversial early-release program
December 30, 2009 3:06 PM
Gov. Pat Quinn announced today that he is ending a controversial state prisons policy that accelerated good behavior credit for new inmates and led to some early releases.
The state now will require all prisoners serve at least 61 days before they can earn such credit, the governor said at a news conference in Chicago. The Illinois Department of Corrections also will provide prosecutors with at least 14 days notice before a prisoner can be released.
Of the 1,718 inmates who were released under the program, 56 have returned to prison following parole violations and eight were arrested for new offenses, Quinn said today. Six were arrested for retail theft or drug offenses, one for drunk driving and one for domestic assault.
---
There's a shocker, numerous police officers posting on blogs turn out to be 100% accurate. Letting them out early just changes who their next victims will be and hastens their return to prison.
But we knew that would happen.

And of course the City and police and fire would be sued for "allowing" it to happen.
It's an "Ethnic" thang that you wouldn't understand. They clear it with the alderthief & make sure he gets his from the "cut box".
Wonder if Penny sent atta boys to the troops on that event?
Who is her clout anyway?? 011 is the closest she has ever been to the working police.
Good job guys
Dude be strapped to the gills wif his gat!

IMAGINE??? Fuck imagining. I'm praying, doing rain dances, calling in favors and sacrificing live animals in my backyard. I'm a "take-the-bull-by-the-horns" type of guy.
Imagination never got me anywhere, hence the more practical approaches.

Yeah, where are the whole eight of em when you need em?
This is how they run these clubs, certain "IN" people don't get searched at the door, these are the made men of the Black Gangs, they get to keep their gats so they are protected, all the fine women gather about these Dudes and the rest are in AWE. These sorry people really think they are somebody, but when the Dept of Revenue close in with Gangs, Narcotics & MSF, they really get hammered.

Good citizens disregard the law if it's unconstitutional..however I believe this case was much different, as were the circumstances.
there are no consequences for breaking the law....some people think freedom is spelled ''freedumb''. cant wait to move far away...to a state that votes R.
Gotta apologize in behalf of the Vice Unit, hands are tide, can't do nothing without Ernie's blessing (as per the evil bitch Eve) can't bust any private parties without the go signal from Ernie. This is a party thrown by him i guess because it slip away n the A-team wasn't informed by it. Did they see Ernie and his Vice angels inside? I guess they got a pass through the back door.

I'm not a fan of her, however this was a good intel she gathered, give credit where is due.
To the unpublished -
It doesn't get posted because it violates at least three rules we've established here. We don't owe you a forum for your misogynist race baiting.
Figure it out.

Where was Gushes crew? She is responsible for private parties. Gushes and Brown, what a team.
Was the 3 AM 2008 Park Ridge girl in attendance?
Did party attendees learn anything from E2 and the Englewood mom's pizza party? The answer is NO. :(

License Unit - you gotta be shitin' me.
Bunch of rosey cheeked [aka irish] bosses kids waiting to make Sgt.
Wouldn't know a crime if it fell on them.
Just out of curiosity, if there was no charging for cover or for drinks, what made the party illegal?
Aside from the obvious criminal involvement and attendance, which could happen anywhere nowadays.
IT WAS A PLAY NITE CLUB.
For the person who is questioning the uuw law and how it pertains to private property you need to look at the statute. The only protection is granted to those in their abode or place of business. This does not extend to hired help, get a grip on yourself. This is a clear example of uuw, two thugs with guns at the door, others found throughout the building. This would clearly not be protected under the abode provision.
