.708 BAC?
A Sturgis woman had a blood-alcohol level of .708 percent, possibly a state record, when she was found earlier this month behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle parked on Interstate 90, according to Meade County State’s Attorney Jesse Sondreal.
A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper discovered Marguerite Engle, 45, on Dec. 1 passed out behind the wheel of a delivery truck reported stolen in Rapid City.
Her blood-alcohol level was almost nine times South Dakota’s legal limit of .08 percent.
And this is nearly double the lethal dose for most of the population. Remember that name - Marguerite Engle - and do not challenge her to any drinking games. She will own you.

10+ yrs ago, a PPO in 7 took out a car w/out his FTO and found a 4 car DUI accident on Ashland Ave and called for a traffic car to handle. A heads up SGT came over the air and told the knothead to take the DUI himself. A heads up turnkey realized DUI guy was way past blotto, refused to take him, and off DUI guy & PPO & Sgt went to St. Barnyard's. Sgt was an old DUI writer himself, figured he'd teach the PPO a lesson on how to write a DUI. Blooddraw, paperwork, all before AIRA and the electronic mess nowadays.
DUI guy pulled .518 BAC. Walkin & talkin like nothing was going on. Professional drunk obviously.
Hey, Taz, I get the story right?
If she weighs 1000 pounds, it probably does not have any effect on her.
Off Topic but newsworthy;
From the FOP Current Updates Dec.09
"AS OF WEDNESDAY, 30 DECEMBER
2009, WE HAVE 195 MEMBERS THAT HAVE APPLIED FOR RETIREMENT".
And the city will hire 85 for 2010?
Hey 42 short, we will be 110 short!
SCC: There's an Indian reservation or two over there in South Dakota. Well known fact alcoholism runs rampant in the Indian nation. Indians don't metabolize alcohol as fast as the white man. Highest BAC I ever arrested was a .408. Female white driver. In the hospital, there was another Female white in with a .48. You're right,Marguerite Engle would own any copper I knew.
I know a guy who knows a guy who could drink her stupid......
Too damn funny.
The highest I ever saw was .62. Mexican, tequila, caused a four car crash on 57.
The body is truly a miraculous machine. It will adapt to almost anything.
---not a cop
I saw a picture (mugshot) of this drunkie posted on another site. She appears Caucasion and looks like a guy with long hair.
anybody remember chris cornstalk?
The ONLY reason this lady tested the 2nd time she was found 2 weeks later was that her BAC still didn't recover from the 1st time she was stopped.
With a BAC that high how long would it take to get back below .08?
I think Im in love!
not possible for 70% of blood volume to be alcohol. There must have been an error in the measurement
Ok. Im Amazed!
I had a .400 same thing walking and talking. Skinny little guy
Damn!
I never even knew Marguirite drank, until I saw her sober...once
sounds like a good time. maybe she'll write a book about it, or pose nude in playboy. we can only hope.
Wow.
By any measure, she should be dead.
I'm on my 17th Ketel and soda, might be there soon.
Richie Scotchbreath once had to do an administrative blow and the breath machine melted....
Christopher Cornstalk could give her a run, except for the fact he was killed three years ago.
And of course! She is a beauty!!

The only error is your public school education showing. That's seven-tenths of one percent BAC and it's very possible.
Wonder what I would blow now! Who cares anymore? The Tahoe's and rifles just aren't cutting it. I need a raise a contract and faith in the pension. I know Im a cry-baby.
worked with many a wagon men over the years who were pros who came to work stiff and left stiffer that could have given this broad a run for her money..... the highest i've ever seen was .52 and it was a throatless stosh who guzzled vodka like it was gatorade---

As one writer put it, the woman "has the alcoholic capacity of an oak barrel."
