Parolee Arrested for Murder

Now, can anyone tie him into Governor Quinn's Early Release program? Because make not mistake about it, this is Quinn's legacy - 1,800 parolees out committing mayhem:
  • A 42-year-old parolee with a long rap sheet was charged with fatally shooting a 16-year-old boy outside of a Far South Side convenience store last week.
  • Friends and family described Couch as having had numerous run-ins with police. His accused killer -- currently out on parole -- also has numerous arrests and felony convictions, including a 2007 conviction for weapon possession by a felon.

White served just over two years of a six-year sentence before being released two weeks before Couch's murder. Police didn't offer a motive for the slaying.

UUW conviction, sentenced to six years, serves two, commits murder. Yup, must be "Illinois Justice" at its finest.

Maybe the Cook County States Attorneys Office should take lessons from the DuPage County States Attorneys office, see how they quickly obtained a warrant for the guy who killed his ex-wife.

If that happened here in Chicago, Felony Review would have refused to approve the warrant because we haven't searched for him long enough. Then they would have taken us through the ringer and reluctantly approved the warrant with certain conditions.

Geeeez!!!!!!

Start making these violent crime thugs serve more than 1/3 or their sentence. This is a crime itself against the public that they are let out so damn early. Start having a class action suit against the state for all the victims who died from these felons who were let out early by the state. Start voicing your opinion to these incompetent politicians who allow this to happen. Use that empty Thomson prison for our own home-grown thugs.

Another scandal revisited on the front page of today's Trib about the bipolar white female who arrested after two crazy days at Midway airport, and eventually i-bonded at the 002nd Dist, eventually wandering into the Taylor Homes, and either being shoved or jumping from an upper fl. apt. The article doesn't really let the parents off the hook for not keeping a closer eye on their grown (but mentally ill) daughter, but it's sad that so many people on our end dropped the ball on this sick woman too, especially the WC in 008. Parents asking for $100 million in damages. I don't think they'll get that much, but they'll definitely be paid. I'm willing to bet that the WC along with a Sgt. or two and some POs are going to be found personally liable for this when it's all said and done.

Hiring Equals Less Manpower?
The numbers just don't add up.

The new PAX 501 shows just how silly this Department is:

200 Recruits to be hired in all of 2009
Promotions from the rank of patrolman as follows:

80 Sergeants
85 Detectives
35 other D-2 spots
That equals 200 promotions. Which means hiring is a wash this year.

Now factor in the regular 500 to 600 retirements. And the additional retirements once a contract is signed. And who knows how many if Pension Portability becomes law.

The Department is going to have to shut down two Districts just to alleviate the shortages in Patrol.

O.T.

Do we have a third in contention for the Superintendent's job?

Apparently, since his demotion BL has formed a new Hispanic Law Enforcement Organization (http://www.ahle2009.org/ALLIANCE/HOME.html)with the the Northside Hispanic Reverends to put some pressure on DA MAYOR with the backing of the one and only anti-gay Evangelical Rev. Wilfredo De Jesus and a host of other Hispanic storefront reverends and politicians.

Will this be the nail in the coffin his career for BL or will this help him soar to the top as it did for downtown EB?

Well, we all know for those of us who read between the lines that De Jesus lost some of his steam since DA MAYOR didn't hand pick him to replace Billy Ocasio in the 26th Ward and gave it to Cook County Commissioner Roberto Maldonado instead. This happened because De Jesus and a couple of other politicians (Manny Flores, Luis Gutierrez etc...) publicly ostracized the Mayor for demoting Lopez in the media. We know DA MAYOR doesn't forgive or forget shit howver he does play politics well.

Well, it's a "check" on the chess board. It's JFEDS and DA MAYOR's turn. Will it be a "check mate"?

My partner and I locked up a guy for PSMV about a year and a half ago. He was given 7 years on a plea due to his extensive record of PSMVs, weapons violations and other charges. He reported to Stateville in Feb of 09 and was released in Sep of 09. That's 7 months of a 7 YEAR sentence. If they gave him credit for time served during the trial then he would have served a total of about 16 months of his 7 year sentence. He has been arrested twice since being released. Once yesterday for PSMV. Thank you Governor Quinn. The victims of his recent PSMV and all of his future ones are grateful.

A reporter on WBBM 780 ended his report of this same story by quoting Quinn as saying he didn't think that this (the early release of parolees) would hurt his chance at reelection because "people are more concerned with the economy".

While I'm just as concerned as the next guy that: a) my investments have taken a major hit, b) the value of my properties aren't what they were 5 years ago and c) a generous raise is just a mirage, I'm much more concerned with the greater possibility that my family, loved ones or friends may fall victim to some savage that should be slowly and painfully dying in the joint. My finances will bounce back way before any scars that come with being victimized would heal.

Everything is cyclical in both finance and criminality; as sure as one will surely profit if invested for the long haul, a career criminal will reoffend given enough time and opportunity.

P.S. - A hearty "FUCK YOU!" to Governor Quinn.

December 27, Police shoot 38 year old man 79/Rhodes.

December 29, police shoot 31 year old man, 56/calumet.

All but one police shooting this past month involved someone 30 and older.

A lot of posters over the years have posted their opinions on who is a good boss or not,and why they are or aren't. Does anyone know what makes a boss a "good boss"? Most of these positive post were written about a boss being good because he (or she) went to bat after being jammed up. What was "the" jam up? Granted police are targted in this city and civilians and even other city workers will go after the Po-Po in a heart-beat. I wish the best and safe keeping for all, but WTF start measuring a boss by their effectiveness too.

I see certain sworn and retired guys/gals have got it, and I surely hope there are more out there. There have been cases interrupted and halted, within OCD especially, because these cases began investigating political bodies and the "connected" in Chicago, Cook County and the State. Where and who are the bosses going to bat for these working police who are making these cases? Think about it and if this is the first time you realize it then I say Welcome to Chicago.

There are great bosses out there, and great bosses who retired. Who are the bosses who let the working copper, detective, sgt, lt...work their investigations to the end? Or who were those bosses?

Remember what is asked to be the police, and if you have to ask what that is then quit. CPD has previous "good" bosses who have allowed enough shit to go on that I still don't know if they sleep at night.

My understanding is that Chicago some sort of joint office combining city and fed employess/lawyers to prosecute such cases a few years back.

Maybe I'm being a bit sadistic, but upon the condition of release, they should have their hands chopped off. For sex offenders, castrate them.

Better yet, drop them all in a kill zone in the Middle East with nothing to defend themselves.

The court systems here in the U.S. are a joke, and the criminals know it's nothing but a revolving door for them and many are out within hours of their arrest.

Officer Daniel Faulker's killer will never be executed. He'll die in prison before the Commonwealth of PA even puts a needle to someone's arm. The same thing will happen to Officer Cassidy's killer as well (he was sentenced to death).
