Hispanic church leaders, seizing on the recent departure of a police commander to highlight the few Latinos at the top of the department, are stepping up pressure on Supt. Jody Weis to deal with the long-standing problem.
The sudden retirement of Grand Central District Commander Robert Lopez has upset religious leaders and resurrected criticisms that the department has an abysmal record of promoting Hispanics to the department's highest levels.
Members of the clergy announced plans to protest at City Hall next week and call for Weis' resignation because of the failure to diversify the department.
"sudden retirement"? He got busted down at an Honors Funeral in one of the more classless moves lately. He may have been part of organizing this march next week. This is a blatantly obvious and blatantly political move, no question about it. Who said Chicago couldn't teach J-Fed some new tricks?

First of all, why are "religious leaders" always butting in and trying to run the department (Jesse, that Pfucking Pfleger, now these latino clergymen)?
Secondly, even when an Hispanic is 025 DC, if it isn't "the right kind" of Hispanic (Puerto Rican v. Mexican), one of the aldermen in whose political territory covers 025 gets all bent out of shape. Anyone care to name that alderman?
ahhh reasons like this is why i go to work and do absolutly nothing.
This submitting is just a courtesy since I've already made numerous phone calls to various china-men and Alderman that I have given massages to over the years and they have told me repeatedly that the spot of Commander is mine for the taking once the next batch of promotions comes out.
I decided to list my qualifications and work history since it makes me feel good to look over it. My marriage counselor has also been very supportive.
Tactical Skills & Background:
Since joining the Dept. in March 1999, I have made an impact on eliminating the treacherous white gangs that had become the scourge of this town. I once, in front of several video cameras, picked up a Simon City Royal by his hind legs and pushed him around as if he were a wheel-barrel, subsequently breaking his neck. Tactical P.O. has also shot and killed various Jousters and Gaylords off duty but is unable to remember the exact amount because most of the kills were after I closed down Teasers. Since I was tired, I never bothered staying on scene or contacting any Brass about my accomplishments.
Tactical P.O. has also taken time on his RDO's to patrol Mt. Greenwood in my I-ROC Z automobile that I've custom made to look like an undercover car along with taping my honorable mentions on the hood, doors, and trunk of the car.
Tactical P.O. has heard rumblings that because of dumping a latin Commander, the next round of appointees will be Latino. Let Tactical P.O. inform you that my great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great Aunt is from Alaska, so I'm covered in that respect. Also, just about every night, after drinking, I go to Taco Bell where I usually devour 20 soft shelled taco's along with a burrito. Please also know that Tactical P.O. speaks fluent Mexican from watching soap operas on channel UNO.
In summary, I feel that I should be the next Exempt and am officially endorsed by Commander Borat from 017.

I hope the hispanic community, both civilian and police, are smart and sophisticated enough to see this ploy for what it is. Daley and Weis, consistent with their anti-minority bent, slapped down a well regarded Hispanic commander, and now that the community is up in arms about it, seeks to appease the community by making these shallow promotions.
What Daley giveth, Daley can and will taketh away. As soon as his mayoral candidacy is secured, he and Weis are going to unleash their wrath on the remaining minority bosses. Hispanics; don't be bought off cheap-its time for a Hispanic Superintendent or First Deputy, and MAYOR!
Don't be bought off by the turkey give away protocol Daley stole from Jane Byrne, and updated for his own use. Weis and Daley have contempt for everyone outside of their inner sanctum, and particularly for blacks and hispanics.
Protest.
If you don't, you'll lose the respect and alliance of other minority groups and aggrieved parties ( non clouted whites) and you will lose all you've gained.
By the way the 14th and 25th district were always hispanic commands so nothing was gained.

Captain- must have 2yrs in rank as a Lt. to be eligible.
Commander- must have 10 months in rank as a Lt and have at least 3 merit promotions on your resume.

I am submitting my application forthwith and I am demanding that I am NOT under any circumstances to be considered for promotion to Commander.
I am writing that I would be profoundly insulted if I were promoted to Commander and I will refuse any such promotion and I will resign immediately if such an unwarranted insult were heaped upon me.
I will close my report by stating that I would rather have twin daughters working in a whore house than a son who is a Commander on the Chicago Police Department.

Jewish officers are already represented. Second in command in the supes office, his assistant, and his assistant's assistant, ads of bas, deputy chief, commanders of a division and districts, numerous lts and sgts. Don't worry since they will be sure to promote you because of your religion rather than qualifications. You know the drill.

I think its a good thing and makes a lot of sense. What D.C. Carlos should do now is bring Ozzie to 025 to be the tac lieut. Diego to be the tac sarge. Serio to be the tac secretary. It would be a smart move on his part. 025 would rock.

WHY is WEISel stopping at the Lt. rank? Everyone knows that Keating is, by rank, a mere Sgt. If someone deemed that guy ('You know what I mean/ You know what I mean?') bright enough to pass up the Lt. rank completely and skip to the front of the Exempt line, why can't other Sgts. have an equal opportunity to do so? Why is the Sgts. union not saying or doing anything about this?
Being a Lt. I don't have a problem with them promoting by race, its been going on for years. The problem is who they promote..
A lt for less than a year, and a lt who has less time on the street than I have in the shitter. If I was a hispanic and was passed over for one of those two, I would be pissed and insulted.
Any respectable Capt. or Lt. wouldn't touch this 'so-called' application process with a 40 foot pole. It's all BS. Weis and Masters have shown us all time and again that they will promote whoever bends over and takes it up the ass for these two asshats who are nothing more than Daley's handpuppets. There is nothing decent or honorable about any of this command application hibbity jibbity. Only Machine applicants need apply, and you WON'T have to put ANYTHING on paper!
Weis, just leave. Pack up and go, and take the Mayor's little brown nose boy with you. Nothing you've done in the past 2+ years here has been innovative, honorable or even positive. I know, some of your lapdogs in the Policy Group tout your Carbine Program, but that idea was also 'borrowed' from Florida. If your goal, along with Daley's was to disrupt and dismantle what was once a functional PD, you've done it. Mission accomplished. Just pack it in, so we can see our way to rebuilding some semblance of a respectable big city PD as soon as possible. Long after you're gone, those of us who remain will have our hands filled trying to rebuild a morale that is almost non-existent. As you find your way out the door, please tell your second-in-command purse puppy that he should return to college, perhaps to a business school, so that he may pick up some much needed MANAGEMENT SKILLS that he so obviously lacks, for whatever position Shortshanks plans to drop him into next, should Shortshanks survive the next election, which, judging from the typical kneejerk form in which these last exempt promos were shoved down the throats of the rank & file, appears seriously in doubt. I guess if management skills aren't taught at John Marshall law school, Harvard isn't teaching it either.

Nice? Just a hint of what I think of the command staff. A whorehouse is honorable compared to what these commanders do. Utter contempt is the best I can muster for the exempts.
So, let me get this straight - Daley/Jody replaces one Lopez with FOUR hispanics. Bobby - keep that march going on Wednesday - that maneuver is so shallow.
