Excuses Excuses

The excuse, "These aren't my pants" has just been supplanted by, "That isn't my bullet wound"
  • A career-burglar picked the wrong house to steal from when he targeted the home of a Chicago cop’s family Friday morning, prosecutors allege.

Lamont Ferdinand, 21, hobbled into court Sunday morning bare-chested and bandaged, after a bullet recovered from his body was matched to the officer’s gun.

[...] Though Ferdinand claimed he was shot in a drive-by shooting, the recovered bullet matched the officer’s gun and Ferdinand’s jacket was recovered from near the officer’s home, the report says.

Ferdinand, who has three prior felony convictions and was on parole at the time of the alleged offense, is charged with aggravated assault to a peace officer and residential burglary.

On a side note, shotgun pellets don't leave ballistic signatures. Slugs either.

Oops.

Thank God for stupid criminals; we call them 'job security'.

Rifled slugs won't, sabots do. In this case the slugs, either kind would have made the hospital un-necessary.

Shotgun pellets can lead to problems. Just ask the Wisconsin hunter who returned home to find a burglar tossing his home.

Said hunter retrieved a shotgun and fired, striking the offender. The shotgun blast left pellets in the offender's palms and inside arm areas.

Said hunter was subsequently charged with homicide.

Moral of the story:

Sometimes a single projectile is better than multiple projectiles.

It's just a damned shame that the bullet wasn't removed from Lamont Ferdinand's head during the course of this animal's necropsy.

The old West Side shuffle.

Mope shows up at the hospital, Dicks (first) interview gets a "I was walking down the street office, when I heard a loud noise, felt a sharp pain." Then, after a look around at recent shootings, second interview is much more to the point!

I still say the classic .38 is the best for home defense.

Hope the shitbird claims that he was shot in a driveby in open court. That will minimize any lawsuits against the PO. But then he might claim the PO was the shooter in the drive-by and in crook county the jury might side with the shitbird.

I recall a shooting in 018 years ago. A would be burglar climbed up a scaffold between two houses on Howe St. The owner owned a bar and was up late heard this and was ready with a pistol when Willie tried to step into his bedroom. The would be burglar was shot off the scaffold and went running down the street. Police were called and Willie was found in Grant Hospital ER with a new hole. Willie denied the burglary attempt and the citizen went to identify and said "nope, that's not him" and went home and back to bed. No BS paperwork for the shooting, no lawsuit, just the message: come back here and you won't run away unscathed. It was a beautiful thing.

No one should be using shotgun slugs for home defense use. Can you spell "liability" ? Anyone using slugs needs to shop for an umbrella policy. It takes a brick wall to stop those things.

"He was ordered held on $100,000 bond by Judge Adam Bourgeois Sunday."
Break into someone's house and get shot, $100,000 bond.
Steal bleachers from Orr HS over 3 months and it goes unreported for months and they have you on a crappy, grainy video and Miller's bond has been set at $275,000.
What a screwed up court system, let's get our priorities straight!!!

Just more ghetto stupidity. I did a felony upgrade on a convicted felon once. Homie told me he didn't have an arrest record, his play cousin was using his name, getting arrested. I "axed" hin if his play cousin was using his fingerprints too. Huh?

Three felonies out on parole and commiting a home invasion. Where is the Mayors outrage over this. Please remove your pompous oversized head out of your ass, and make a well deserved comment on the total failure of the justice system. You too Jodi. I dare ya. I know you read this. And to make this worse, we (the working taxpayers) have to pay for his sorry ass to be patched up, so he can go F**k society in the ass again.

I am not familiar with the beats in 016 but I know several houses were hit in the 5600 Block of Mobile on or about 26 Mar. Taken jewelry, money. Also car keys. Victims were told that these offenders have been know to come back in two or three weeks and take the victim's cars. Anyone know anything about this? I live near by. Glad to help anyway I can.

Regarding the stupid burglar that broke into a house that was occupied by a police officer: this guy was so stupid that it wasn't enough that he found the house occupied and just run out but he had to reach in his jacket for a weapon after the 290 pound weight lifter Po Po identified himself as the police. Po Po fired in fear and bad guy ran with a few holes in him. Bad guy is discovered in St. Bernard hospital miles from scene telling the doc that someone tried to rob him in englewood only a few blocks away from the hospital and they took his jacket. Police recovered a similar jacket near the scene of the crime with holes in it matching the holes in him!! Alibi friend flips and tells how he picked burglar up near the scene of the burglary and was complaining about being shot in someones house. Stupid on Parole for previous multiple robberies and burglaries. Good job done by all.

Well its a good thing he didn't invade a law abiding citizens house. They wouldn't have had the pistol to defend themselves.
