Opportunity
With the Obama Healthcare backlash and endless bad headlines here, the republicans really ought to be pushing harder for Illinois races:
- A diverse group of House lawmakers today threw their support behind Rep. Art Turner to be Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn’s running mate and warned the governor could suffer politically if he doesn’t go along.
This is an opportunity to exploit a democratic bloc. They aren't going to vote for a republican, but they will stay home.

- Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn made an about-face on his choice for a running mate and plans to unveil Sheila Simon, the daughter of the late U.S. Sen. Paul Simon, as his preferred candidate for lieutenant governor, sources familiar with the selection said tonight.
Quinn's reasoning for picking Simon? She supports his massive tax increase in the midst of a recession/depression. This should be in every single ad running this summer and fall.

Whatever political favor Simon may have had due to name recognition will probably be lost by hooking her wagon to the USS (Pat Quinn) TITANIC. This guy is sinking fast!
I don't know much about this guy Brady, but we better read up on him quick, cuz I think he's our next governor.
The State is broke, Why do we need another hack to fill a position that is not needed. $100,00 plus for a do nothing job. Makes me sick. Am I alone on this?

If you want to attack Obama and his Anti-American/ Socialist goals, attack the corruption that put him in the White House.
Go after Daley, Quinn, and Giannoulias in the polls. Expose the corruption of the Daley-Stroger-(now Preckwinkle)- Blagoavich Crime family. Make the connections between them and the Messiah. Free us from them by sending as many of them to jail as possible.
Start making the connections that before the election would have been shouted down as racist. America needs and is ready for the truth.
You will know you are getting close to the truth when Obama moves the family home from Chicago to Hawaii, or Indonesia or Kenya.

Supports his tax increase and happens to be a daughter of a former senator. When will the cronyism end?
It is so blatant it's beyond being a joke and yet the very stupid people of Illinois vote for these terribly unqualified and crooked people to run this state government. Since Art Turner is black, I hope the blacks turn on Quinn in protest.
OT in a way, Is it a coincidence that the news that Social Security is going to pay out more than it takes in this year was held up? Just four days after the Health Care Bill was passed this news came out. It really didn't come out in force, but there was an article in the NY Times yesterday. It wasn't on any of our newscasts though. Don and Roma talked about it this am. Here is a link.

In Illinois, the political party holding the seats has as much to do with good, honest public policy as it does the price of tea in China. They all suck. Hoping the republicans take the seats is just giving the Illinois republican party their turn to steal for a while. Get real. They all suck.

Actually SCC, I heard Gov. Quinnby say he picked Sheila Simon because she is a woman, represents downstate voters and is a legacy of Paul Simon. So in essence, this default Governor and Democratic Party ignores the will of the voters (Turner who I do not care for) earned the spot on the ticket. But true to form, the corrupt party in this state picks another incompetent, unqualifed person to be the party, not the peoples representative. This how we have losers like Madigans, the Hynes family, Jacksons and on and on screwing up this city and state.

I think you will find that most of the people on this blog have worked hard all their lives. We have paid out taxes and helped the disadvantaged through those years. Now, more than 50 years into these social programs, we have learned that THEY have learned nothing. They continue to take... the 'old teach a man to fish' saying seems to be 100% correct.
Now, in a time when our politicians have decided to exponentially increase the welfare mentality, WE have decided to say NO! You work for your meal.
We don't hate. We are just tired of being taken advantage of. The TAKERS have gotten bolder and now demand our handouts. No shame, just demands.
Don't bother threatening me with 'you may be out of work and homeless one day'. It doesn't scare people who are used to working for a living.
Won't move the family to Hawaii, part of the U.S.
