Insta-lanche for Densey
Instapundit (linked on the right hand side) is one of the larger Libertarian websites in existence. Run by Professor Glenn Reynolds from Tennessee, it was one of the first blogsites we ever read.
How big is Instapundit? Well, SecondCityCop gets around 475,000 page views a month. Instapundit gets about 14 million. Primarily a news aggregating site, an Instapundit-link (known as an "Insta-lanche") has the power to bury smaller servers and is a feather-in-the-cap many blog sites crave.
We've never gotten one.
But today, Instapundit linked to Densey and Mary Cole's Ultimate Wedding Contest (via Leslie's Omnibus) and the results show. The Coles are currently ahead by 4,000 votes and the totals keep climbing. There are thirty days to go, so no one should be relaxing just yet. Keep spreading the word.

I enjoy your blog and check it each day, although I live in Utah. LOL My sweetie lives in Chicago and I travel there a lot. One reason you might not be getting much-deserved linkage is the blog isn't set up (far as I can tell) to link to a specific story. Unless I'm doing something wrong. When I send something from here to my b/f I have to copy and paste the article, making merely the generic link to your blog.
If I could click on the title of each story and get ONLY that story, it would help.
I hope you get more publicity!

I voted, and sent the link to everyone I know, and asked them to forward it on.
But lets not get ahead of ourselves. If you read the rules you find that the sponsor will chose a winner from the top 50 entrants. The only thing the top vote getter is guaranteed is a $500 gift card. (Which I'm sure the Cole's could use.)
When the sponsor picks from the top 50, let's hope they have a heart and do the right thing.

Glad to see they changed their registry to comply with the rules. Hopefully they will make sure they have complied with all of them.
Would hate to see them disqualified. And even if they're in the top 50, I don't see how they can lose. Their story (and love story) is compelling, and God knows they deserve some breaks in life. God Bless.

Right now Mary & Densey are up by over 4700 votes at 10,600. With 30 days to go, there COULD be 100,000 or more votes on here!
Would Crate & Barrel really want to alienate THAT MANY potential customers if the Coles win in an absolute landslide by vote and they chose to make someone else their winner?

It's great they are getting all these votes, but I hope they are not disqualified because they are already married, as stated in their posted story! The rules say "engaged to be married"!

Nope. The gay couple is on the radio/talk shows in Florida saying that a Chicago blog (not this one) is gay-bashing.
Howard Stern broadcasted the Densey and Mary Cole story on his radio show this morning. Chorizo Guy from the show is a dear old HS friend. He got it to Howard and Howard read it on the air. I am waiting to get the tapes back from this so i can post the link or send it to SCC personally in email so he can post it up here.
Love or Hate Howard Stern, he LOVES the Police and is a huge supporter. So are his Super Fans as they are called. They have been rocking the vote on Facebook big time!!!

What happened to the world I grew up in? Where did it go?

I just looked to see how they were doing. It seems the votes have dropped off for them and the 2nd place couple has picked up speed. A lot can happen in a month. We shouldn't forget to keep pushing for them.
