Two Seasons

Winter and Construction. Here comes Construction:
  • With a congestion-free Congress Street Bridge as a backdrop, state and local transportation officials issued a warning Monday to motorists: Be prepared for big-time delays beginning this week.

Repairing the aging bridge -- built in 1956 and slowly rusting away -- is one of four major projects in and around Chicago that will likely frustrate motorists in the short-term.

It will also frustrate west side dope sales to suburbanites jumping off and on I-290 in 012, 011 and 015.

Sure, it'll frustrate dope deals, but that'll produce examples of the law of unintended consequences. Example...

1 -The hypes will buy more dope so as to not have to drive into and out of construction traffic as often, which equates to...

2 - The 2 to 3 beat cars that now stay down hours processing a two-bagger will stay down hours processing a five-bagger.

Go visit Europe and see Roman roads and bridges and viaducts that have survived a millenium, and this bridge was built only less then 60 years ago. Bullshit. make the connected contractors build it right.
