Warm Weather

  • Tuesday's sun whispered of spring. And across the city, Chicagoans were counting on the rest of the week to scream of it, with plans to shed their winter wear, ready their rakes and eat under the stars.
Chicagoans are also dusting off the guns, cruising for trouble and getting ready to settle up old grudges that have been nursed through the cold winter months. We've noticed an uptick in calls of shots fired, armed robbery reports, gang disturbances and midweek homicides that we guess can be attributed to the warm weather and spring break.

Be careful out there.

Hey citizens! You're on your own. We have no manpower to proactively police your neighborhoods.

Don't feel bad, we are on our own too. We just look out for each other and do what we can.

Let's keep each other safe this summer. It's gonna be a wild ride.

It's amazing how most people in a nice neighborhood sit and relax and talk nice during a warm great day. And then in another neighborhood, still in Chicago, mind you, the idiots can't sit and relax, or talk nice during a warm great day. Instead the idiots are violent toward their own kind.

fyi- if you're fed up and want to run a candidate for Mayor, you'll need to get 12,500 signatures to get on the ballot.

Because it's so easy to strike a signature; you'll need at least 25,000 signatures to be safe.

It's the Chicago way!!

Of course, 5,000 Police officers could easily get 5 signatures each and be done with it.

That stuff never happens in my neighborhood. People have to get to bed in order to get up and go to work the next day. So their taxes can support these do-nothing jagoffs.

If the gun ban is lifted watch for the murder rate to go down. The animals won't know who is prepared to defend themselves.

Hey I just wanted to give a shout out to the cops in my hood (Uptown.) I think you guys do a really good job.

That was some crazy shit that happened on Magnolia last night, I thought there would be a post here on it.

I left my house and saw these guys arguing about something at about 6:50PM when I was on my way to pool. I was going to call 911, but I saw a police SUV rolling up on them so I figured it was taken care of.

Anyway, I have two questions:

1) Should I have called 911 anyway...

and

2) How did that woman get away? I am not cop bashing at all but the car was surrounded by CPD. Not that I want one of you guys getting hurt by jumping in front of it or something. I had people asking why you didn't shoot out the tires? My answer was, "because this isn't TV."

Anyway, looking for cop comments on it, feel free to educate me.
