Four out of four top stories at Chicago Breaking News tonight were all about....shootings (including the Hegewisch kids):
- Kids suffer minor injuries in shooting near Hegewisch school
- Man shot dead on Far South Side
- Man critically wounded in Far South Side shooting
- NW Side shooting leaves man critically wounded
We're trying to figure out if the second and third headlines are the same shooting - they appear to be in the same general area of 122nd Street and within a few minutes of one another. Maybe it's the same shooters in different locations?

017 district shooting--- dude shot, car chase, offender in custody, gun recovered, vehicle used in shooting located, looks like this one will be a winner.... phenominal team work between 017, 019, and 020, as well as responding specialized units...
SCC, OUTSTANDING job by the coppers from 017, they on-view the shooting, give chase and do a great job on the radio with the 019 District and then find one of the shooters in a yard!! I can only think of one better outcome than this, I'm sure you know what I mean........
Regarding the far south side shootings:one shooting was on 122nd Wallace, that one's an aggravated battery thus far; the second shooting was at 122nd May which is a homicide, and the so called victim was a gang leader and a murdering piece of work so getting rid of him was a public service.
Both of these are in 005 where some clueless dept supt refers to as "Mayberry"-home to our illustrious police and fire committee chairman Anthony Squeal.

The Wallace shooting as of this writing is just an agg batt. Subject was shot in the in the side. He didn't look good onscene. The shooting on may was a possible retaliation for the Wallace shooting. The guy on May was a high ranking gangbanging dope dealer, who according to a few nameless residents, has been ordering shootings in the 122/Wallace area. He was shot multiple times including the face. DEAD ONSCENE! Friends, family, baby mama's fellow gangtas and fake cousins were all out in force last night. Looks like it was a shoot out. No innocent persons injured. Expect all hell to break loose now in the area. STAY SAFE!!!!!!! I'm looking forward to my summer furlo.
OT but not really. The CPD is now escorting GANGBANGER funerals. WTF!! Across the City gangbangers are being killed then CPD leads the funeral procession to the cemetary. I just don't understand this concept. WE tie up a car from every dist that this proceesion passes through. The family should pay the City for this service.

Off-duty officer foils burglary attempt.
An off-duty officer fired a shot at a burglary suspect on the Northwest Side late Thursday, but no injuries were reported.
The shooting took place a little after 11 p.m. at a residence on the 5100 block of North McVicker Avenue, police said.
Few details were available a little after midnight as the investigation continued, but a Police News Affairs spokesman could confirm the off-duty officer was not injured and the shot apparently did not hit the burglary suspect.
It was not immediately known if a suspect was in custody, he said.
We live right around the corner from the Albany Park shooting and heard all the squad cars en route. I'm not sure if it's a routine thing to have cops out and about in the neighborhood over the weekend, but they should be there all the time...this sort of crap happens all too often. Early Sunday morning seems to be the biggest time for problems (in the last three years, we've had three incidents on our block in the early morning hours of Sunday...one drunk driver who hit 7 parked cars, one shooting/attempted suicide and one drunk driver who hit an iron fence hard enough to dent it and came awfully close to the building).
In an ideal world, the cops would be out and about in the neighborhood all the time so that they can hear these things as they happen and track down the culprits immediately. SO glad that a suspect was apprehended in this case. Thanks to the officers for their hard work.
3 people were shot in albany park with that incident. 014 also had a shooting at armitage/western, lil gangbanger fuck got lit up at the spanish lord hotdog stand.

Unfortunately this is true. If it isn't already happening it soon will. Just like all the "missing" children that were being put on the news everyday. No one gives a shit about that anymore. (With good reason)
And my personal favorite: Homicide in 012th District last night....hey didnt J-Fled just take 4 PO's outta 012 for the summer detail cause there's no crime in 012?

017 is quickly turning into a shit hole. You have the hispanic gangs that are growing in strength. Now you have some black gangs from the far south side setting up base there.

Yeah 2nd one in two weeks, I know not alot by busy district standards but alot for a slower district, 012 has always been a middle of the road place, not alot of radio jobs anymore but still gets a decent amount of shootings and some result in homicides, it's too close to all the best hospitals that keep these mutts alive. Expect more of the same all summer long, city-wide...

I'm writing about the off topic comment about accompanying the funeral processions of gang bangers. I know it seems ironic and a waste of manpower but I am glad that you are going with them. Makes me feel a little safer. I live on one of the main routes to the cemetaries - west of western on 115th. My husband saw a funeral procession roll by our house about a week ago with all the banger friends flashing gang signs out the car windows as they passed. Some rival gang members looking for payback could easily know where to set up to shoot at the passing cars. I don't want them missing and hitting me and my small children.

Shooting Saturday in 009. Intented victim, a gangbanger being shot at by another gangbanger. The gangbanging shooter misses the gangbanger he was shooting at but hits the intended gangbangers gangbanging girlfriend in the ass.
