Bad Penny Keeps Turning Up
A Cook County judge has dropped an order of protection against a Chicago police department commander, her attorney said Monday.
Harrison District Cmdr. Penelope Trahanas was named in the order of protection after her former boyfriend, Matthew Jackson, also a police officer, accused her of telephone harassment.
The order was dropped in domestic violence court Monday by Judge Laura Bertucci Smith, according to Trahanas' attorney, Thomas Needham.
Needham said he presented more than 100 text messages as evidence that the break-up between Trahanas and Jackson was mutually hostile.
"Mutually hostile"? We guess that's one way to describe tire slashing and window breaking and lord knows whatever other drama never got put on paper.

-She states (never proven if she put it in writing) that she wants no white oficers working the desk because they don't represent the community.
-She showed up at a SWAT incident on the street with no vest on, along with several outdoor roll calls which were the scenes of previous shootings.
So many more but it's early and I'm tired. Remember folks, this is the CPD...."Do as I say, not as I do."
She still holds the rank of Commander and receives all the notifications concerning the 11th District.

How is this case a "cover up"? A hearing where both sides were represented by lawyers was held in a courtroom that was open to the public. The judge who heard the evidence ruled for one side and against the other. Prior to the hearing, at least some of the evidence was leaked to and reported by the news media, which has an insatiable appetite for any bad news about the police. So, what "cover up"?

OT SCC FYI to all that have a Bank of America Checking Acct. I have Direct Deposit into a Bank of America Checking acct. I recently noticed that Bank of America checking just changed their format. As of today's date Bank of America is showing my complete Social Security number. I emailed them today and they replied that they can't do anything about it as my employer SHOWS my SS#. They advised me to contact my employer to block/hide my SS#. All I can say is that you never want your SS# to show online. I will call Finance tomorrow. I suggest affected P.O.'s also call.

Went back and forth with B of A and finance about this over a year ago.
B of A says it is posted because the employer provides it and they can not write computer code to remove it. They post whatever is provided. Dealt with the City and they tell me to gete a hold of B of A and have them not post it. City claims they have to send this information along with the payment even though B of A says they do not need it

Well, I'm sorry that you find me so personally offensive that you were compelled to take time out of your busy day to mention me here. However, I would have hoped that you would have also taken the time to find out where I actually work and what I actually do. I'm not a member of the Policy Group, but actually work one floor below in R&D, and what I've been trying to do for the past 6 months is get coppers on the street new personal equipment, uniform options, safety items, cheaper raincoats, and stronger OC spray, amongst other things. I'm fairly certain I've not attempted to "dazzle" anyone with war stories, but I'm also fairly certain that I have discussed instances that occurred in the 008th District that are germane to projects I'm working on. I certainly haven't tried to lecture anyone.
It's been my objective since coming to 35th St to try to get coppers the things they need to do the job safely and efficiently. Again, I'm sorry if my perseverance in this has upset you. If you feel the need to address your personality conflict further, by all means you're welcome to stop by my desk.
Nothing these fucking exempts do anymore suprises me. I would be more surprised if something fucking legit ever happened when they fucked up. This department is so balatantly corrupt it's pathetic. OT: did anyone else watch the Law and Order SVU episode on 12May? Very similar to our 003 district 13 year old fiasco! LMAO too funny!
If there is no type of punishment (for both of them...because of her clout) then it will set the standard for future domestics on this department. If she really was the one who did the criminal damage to property on his veh and the multiple harassing or threatening calls and gets away with it w/out punishment, that too, will set the standard for any type of domestic disputes on this department. They better be wary of their judgement on this.

I heard from some 35th flunky and was corroborated by TARA attendees that the recently 9th district disgraced and chased Commander has now decided that he will not fill the position of the retired Bomb Squad Commander. He wants the position that he is not qualified for.
What is better is that he brought a former Area 4, then 009 sgt to end-around trained and qualified sgts already there in the unit.
Considering all that is going on in this world, myself and fellow officers were astonished that one of the few units you would not want to screw around with is being hacked apart by a political castaway.
I did some checking, since 1979 at it's inception, the squad has maintained a Commander that is really a Captain. That person has not only been the point-of-contact but also an experienced federally trained bomb technician.
I know friends from B&A who I called and they would not comment b/c they feel that no ones cares b/c they are a small numbered unit on this job.
I also know that I am not doing the situation justice, but maybe you could further the research and be more eloquent. I would hate to have an explosion kill one of my family members b/c these guys were not able to do their jobs.

There is no legitimacy or transparency, in the handling of the criminal actions or rule violations committed, by any of the Chicago DemocRatic Machine's apparatniks.
The CRook County Court System and the Police Board only know how to cover for their own (Chicago DemocRatic Machine's apparatniks).
Tom Needham is a legitimate as Fred Roti was in handling criminal and civil cases in Coook County.

Well, I'm sorry that you find me so personally offensive that you were compelled to take time out of your busy day to mention me here. However, I would have hoped that you would have also taken the time to find out where I actually work and what I actually do. I'm not a member of the Policy Group, but actually work one floor below in R&D, and what I've been trying to do for the past 6 months is get coppers on the street new personal equipment, uniform options, safety items, cheaper raincoats, and stronger OC spray, amongst other things. I'm fairly certain I've not attempted to "dazzle" anyone with war stories, but I'm also fairly certain that I have discussed instances that occurred in the 008th District that are germane to projects I'm working on. I certainly haven't tried to lecture anyone.

Thanks to people like Glen Beck and other truth telling people, Tea Party etc. What we need in Chicago is a Glen Beck Type who will connect all the dots on these disgraceful leaders. Someone smart with nothing to loose. SCC does a great job, but we need a face a person that will let people challenge them Like Glen. I admit I don't have the balls or the knowledge to put it all out in the open, but I know there are people who do. That would be a lot more effective than the National Guard.

He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He is a good copper with a good head on his shoulders. If he is on that policy group im sure its for good reason. He is actually a young copper who works hard and enjoys going out and getting stuff done. If your an old timer good for you... Dont hate another copper because hes in the same spot as you with less time..stop being so jealous.

OT SCC FYI to all that have a Bank of America Checking Acct. I have Direct Deposit into a Bank of America Checking acct. I recently noticed that Bank of America checking just changed their format. As of today's date Bank of America is showing my complete Social Security number. I emailed them today and they replied that they can't do anything about it as my employer SHOWS my SS#. They advised me to contact my employer to block/hide my SS#. All I can say is that you never want your SS# to show online. I will call Finance tomorrow. I suggest affected P.O.'s also call.

Went back and forth with B of A and finance about this over a year ago.
B of A says it is posted because the employer provides it and they can not write computer code to remove it. They post whatever is provided. Dealt with the City and they tell me to gete a hold of B of A and have them not post it. City claims they have to send this information along with the payment even though B of A says they do not need it

I heard there was a physical altercation between her and a female dic from Area 5 a few years back. There were CR's, internal investigations and I don't know if any lawsuits arose from that. Obviously that wasn't an issue when she got promoted.
I've heard it all! Just saw on the news in regards to the 3 found dead and duct-taped in the car on 48th & Whipple, they're referring to one of the victims as a 28 yr-old "stay at home dad"!
Just say it...he's a dope dealing bust-out!

Solution: Dump Bank of America and switch to a bank that won't display your social. That's serious and I wouldn't let it continue for much longer.
Weis was ORDERED to hold that spot for her until she is acquitted. The reverends run this City, make no mistake. Penny will be back in 011, and keep moving up over the years.
Not to mention that no one, in the history of the Department has said "no" to a promotion. We've all heard the legends, but the reality is there are PLENTY of people on this Department, past, present and future who would kill their mother for any exempt spot!
Well they weren't working 12 hour days and taking furlough days back then, no blackberry to be married to, they worked 9-5 with weekends, holidays off and you never saw them. Who in their right mind would even consider it at this time under this Supe? In my districts none of the Capts/Lts. put in for it...
