Why not a few of these posted on the inbound Kennedy from O'Hare or on Cicero Avenue near Midway?Change the wording a bit to "Hire more Police, Promote more Detectives." Of course, we'd have to add an electronic body and shooting victim counter seeing as how it goes up by 50 or so every weekend.

It could be like one of those signs that charts the national debt, and how it increases fatser than the eye can see. You'd better have some electricians make sure that thing has enough power to keep up with the tally.
Yeah. When are they going to make a detectives class? After the next Sgt. class which will make it the fourth Sgt. class since the last detectives class in 07. Atleast some officers are about to be made and Lts.
The FOP (our Moose Club with Guns) will probably jump at this idea two years from now.

I drive up to Wisconsin very frequently to do my shopping at gas up the car, etc (You know, to avoid all the taxes from the city & county), and on I-94 at the state line is a huge sign that advertises the Mega Million and Powerball lotteries. This sign has an electronic counter on it that shows what the current winning jackpot will be in millions of dollars. Why not use the same set-up?
Visitors have a right to know what they are driving into!
Of course, I'm sure the Daley Crime Family would REVOKE the sign company's permit for the sign and silence the message that way!

And before that sign there should be another sign that says "OUR SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE MAKES $310.000.00 A YEAR".

The cops in Stockton California have what our FOP truly lack...Cojones, Balls,Maracas or whatever. We have 10 times the membership and money and everyone of our FOP bosses are petrified at the possibility of pissing of the mayor. We have been screaming at this farce of a supt. 2 tier system of discipline, a bought and sold police board, one man cars, no real manpower (plenty of clout baby gel power)COZZI etc... And we can't even get an add in the paper.
Shamefull indeed.

I would be willing to donate a set amount a paycheck to have these billboards installed on top of those red light entrapment cameras. Maybe then they could possibly save lives as they are proclaimed. Imagine driving up to an intersection and seeing 100 agg bats and 50 homicides in the past 45 days straight ahead drive with caution. The donations should be tax deductible and a write off since they are work related.

Man, are you guys lame-I suggested the FOP erect signs along the in-bound Kennedy in Park Ridge two years ago, "Welcome to the Murder Capital of the Country". With pictures of the two imbeciles-Daley and Weis along side the copy. I presumed Park Ridge would agree since they hate the stuttering Irish prick as much as we do. Of course I'm not Irish, Donahue is, and he wouldn't embarrass Daley even if Mark cought him fucking a chipmonk. Funny thing about them Irish....

Detectives are tired of being excluded from applying for time and a half overtime opportunities.
Rumors have it that some older detectives are considering resigning their detective rank and going back to patrol for their last year, just so they can get some of the overtime gravy.
Who is steering the fucking ship???
How about everytime there is an Anti-Violence March, from Cease Fire, or whatever, FOP hands outs picket signs that say, "HIRE MORE POLICE."
Maybe Cease Fire could do this themselves if Markie doesn't have the ball to do it.
Would the people from the CAPS or alderman's office go and take the signs away.
How about a couple of these organizations get 50, 100, 200 or so, over 21 YOA, clean-cut, physicaly fit, educated people of all kinds and march into the mayor's office in front of the media and demand he fill the vacant (but tax funded) jobs on the CPD. Shorty shouts that he wants the $8.75 an hour Wal-Mart jobs, demand he fill these jobs.

If this were to really happen, imagine the back log, now carrying a 30-40 case file would be a dream. Have 50 or so Dets resign position, and casees will double. Nonetheless, there will prob be 50 Dets retiring by Oct. CW2: Stack that dbl homocide, & go handle the agg batt, but stop in 010 for a hanger in the lockup. Make it snappy, you still have some canvassing pending.. Yet still no Boss will peep a word publicly about a manpower shortage. Neither will any Alderman, oh wait - they're posturing for a raise. Maybe they can get wad of that sweaty cash money from ShortShanks?

Bullshit. OT is not pensionable; detective pay (D2A) is pensionable. Detectives would voluntarily take an $8k yearly pay cut to work special employment and cut into their pension? I don't think so.

I just drove past 020 at 2100 hrs and all traffic, both directions on Lincoln Ave was being diverted away from the building. There was also crime scene tape across the door.
What's up with that?

Detectives going back into blue for some overtime? What are you smoking? For those of you who don't know it, the detective position is the best job on the police department.
I was a detective for a long time and I remember two guys in all those years requesting to go back in uniform. And at that time there was as much overtime as you wanted, in fact sometime it was too much.
Have things changed that much? I hope not.
An out of Chicago sign company could post the signs one mile before the city limits, nothing mayor dickhead could do about that.
Especially in the northwest suburbs where Daley bulldozed homes for O Hare.
Off the subject, the other night I came home from a late night of patrolling the Gresham neighborhood. I just hope and wish that someone is doing the same for my family and those of us who live in the 8th district, while we are at work! When I arrived home I noticed a White panel construction type van with rear damaged doors being held together by a board with no plates parked across the street from where I live. As I parked my vehicle and exited I approached the van, I then noticed that there was a driver leaning back in his seat, the driver then turned the van on and fled! I immediately jumped back into my vehicle and toured the area for at least half hour looking for this suspicious vehicle or a patrol car! when I did locate a patrol car I attempted to flag him down, he had me follow him for at least three miles while I flashed my bright’s attempting to gain his attention before he finally stopped. I then identified my self and gave the officer's the suspicious vehicles information. I spoke to a detective on the block and it turns out that there's a vehicle matching that description breaking into coppers residences. Just saying guys we'd appreciate little more presence in our neighborhoods while we protect others. God bless and stay safe!

Half the Officers in the District caught on a hidden camera picking up their paychecks. They are now being charged with theft in the biggest Department scandal of all time. The Commander is also being charged with impersonating. It may go up to the Superintendent.
All the tickets and benefit stuff I buy... YOU BET I'D PUT MONEY IN FOR THIS!!!!!!! Have the Union reps get a quote, divide it among the districts and detective divisions and pass the hat, it's about time the truth gets outs there.
All the shooting's and violent crime in this city and yet our great city council is spending all of there time and effort on Walmart... LOL THIS CITY IS GREAT!
How's that Hope & Change working out for all you Obama voters?

Thanks, it was on the west end south of the tracks. The van was parked under a tree so it was really dark inside. As I got closer there was a male leaning back to conceal himself, so I still couldnt tell on the race. Did an info. report and took into the 8th district with more info.

To the 008th district copper: I feel your pain! We have no police presence on 433's beat and little on 432's beat. Fn' incredible! The mutts get all the police service and the legit, non criminal, tax paying, working class, legit, and sometimes police families get little to no police service. It's not right.............
