This will be the third annual event in this series, the first coming right after the Heller decision.
One of the most interesting moments at that first one was when a few of the IllinoisCarry gentlemen approaching the Tribune reporter who was standing on the Randolph Street edge and barely watching the speeches.
They asked her what she expected the Trib would write about the rally.
She shrugged disinterestedly and dismissed it with this: "This isn't what we were expecting."
So, not a word was printed.
Last year, Father Mike Pfleger arrived with a couple of acolytes bearing t-shirts and signs accusing the NRA of being financially interested in expanding gun rights as a mouthpiece for the "gun industry".
That was ignorant enough, but the rally isn't even an NRA event, and while the NRA had some representation, it wasn't a sponsor.
Still, we enjoyed having the Pfleger choir there and took many photos of them with ISRA and IllinoisCarry signs prominently displayed.

The past two years the local media has totally ignored SAFR. Mr. Mike Pfleger will be there with his mind-numbed minions protesting so maybe this year the press will show up.

Come join us across the street from City Hall and celebrating our freedom.

Will there be an ambulance standing by in case Shortshanks has a stroke?

Please show up if you can, Daley is INSANE. A massive showing is needed, and videos to prove it, so it can be put on You Tube and sent to Fox News, as the lib-commie chicagoland newsmedia will stonewall it completely, or underplay it, for sure.

I'm glad that Chicago's ban was struck down, but horrified that the decision wasn't unanimous. The court was only one justice away from letting Daley circumvent the constitution. That should scare us all.

At a meeting of about 50 of my neighbors with our Alderman he asked at the end if ther was any else he could do for us.

I spoke up and said that I had spoken to many of my neighbors and that we did not want the city to enact laws that made it almost impossible for law abiding homeowners like us to own guns in our homes for self defense or sporting purposes.

I had spoken to several of my neighbors, probably all of them had a gun already in their home and none of them said anything wanting strict overbearing laws against owning firearms. The Alderman hemmed and hawed a bit and said there were many issued to consider, insurance, gun locks but he did want to know how we felt.

We'll see, and we will vote.

I say every legit citizen that the hair gels arrested with their own guns in their own houses sue the city for tons of money, bring it to it's knees, and cozzi gets out and J-Jag gets indicted for getting Cozzi indicted and profiting from it by almost a million dollars by getting the supe job afterwards. Now that is worse than any towing scam.

That is exactly why you only register one firearm at tge most. That's one more than any gangbanger or average criminal.

He's evil. He cannot simply die. Perhaps a stake driven through his heart, cutting off the head and burying it separately from his body might do it.

Oh yeah, a silver bullet couldn't hurt, either!

The alderscum enacted a new gun ordinance. But if the SCOTUS said gun ownership is a right, why do I need a permit?

A bullet is too dignified for him. It would make him a martyr and would raise the ire of the anti-gun freaks.

Better a long slow death in a Federal Pen. We should all do our best to arrange that.
