Flanked by men charging abuse at the hands of Chicago Police, the Rev. Jesse Jackson called on Gov. Quinn on Saturday to immediately appoint members to a torture commission enacted last year.
"Men who were beaten with telephone books until their ears rang, men who had torture upon their testicles, tortured until they bled," Jackson said during a news conference at Rainbow/PUSH headquarters. "We speak out about torture in Abu Ghraib, torture in Guantanamo, we should speak out about torture in Illinois. We want [the torture commission] to be fully functional in a matter of days."
Abu Ghraib was fraternity type hazing, not torture. Guantanamo wasn't torture by any stretch of the imagination, nor by any definition of International Law. And no one has been convicted of torture in Illinois either, only perjury. If Jesse wants to solve some problems, he could address the ongoing slaughter in the black community by black offenders, each death being more than what occurred at Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo or Area 2.

When things are heating up in the inner city community, refer again to the social collective self-victimization angle that has worked so well in the past. Jessie wants nothing to do with anyone, black or white, unless he can get paid. One of his minions has stated that he insists that you join Operation Push before he helps you, then his attorneys will take your case or will assist you in some fashion. You are then obligated to give them a portion of your award. He has now recruited son Jonathan and has him doing the same.
Keep note that you never hear from him, unless a lawsuit is pending or there is financial gain for him. Examples: Black policeman killed in front of family-not a peep...black teens killing teens-not a peep...drug sales rampant in neighborhoods-not a peep. Only when a posible payday is involved, do you hear from him.

It seems that the Rev. Jackson wants to be the arbiter of who gets their testicles tortured and who gets their nuts cut out.
If one is a murder, rapist, armed robber or all around thug, then the answer is no, leave that person's nuts alone.
If, however, a person is the President of the United States, then yes, cut that person's nuts out.
Is that about right Rev. Jackson?
Back in 2002- with 9/11 still very fresh- Alan Dershowitz penned what has since gone on to become a somewhat well-known piece in the San Francisco Gate called "Want to torture? Get a warrant..."
Needn't bother reprinting any of that article here; just google it and read up.
In it, he cites an Israeli court decision relating to the worst-case 'ticking time bomb' scenario and a state agent- who might be forced to torture a criminal in order to obtain time-sensitive information- being able to raise a defense in court for his actions based on "the law of necessity."
Unfortunately, our legal system here in the US is a lot more technical and not quite organic enough to recognize something like "the law of necessity", even if it is a fundamental human reaction, however, the question Dershowitz raised was a good one.
Obviously, we cannot leave torture to the discretion of LE. That is way too open for abuse by rogue officers, however, it's clear that torture might be an occasional necessity in the gravest of circumstances and we're probably wise to set up some sort of legal infrastructure so we don't have to do it extrajudicially.
To be honest, I would absolutely support the use of torture in certain situations and I think it's theoretical bullshit to suggest that we're somehow 'worse' for acknowledging the plausible need to torture or pretending we're on some imaginary high road where the laws of the human animal no longer apply.
Want to torture? Get a warrant... Sounds good to me.

P.S. If Flint and Jesse are right and there are 110 innocent people in jail then there must be a massive amount of killers walking the south side of Chicago who have never been charged. Why not hire additional detectives to locate and prosecute these murderers?
