3 Police Shootings?

  • The incidents started around 12:15 a.m. Sunday when gang enforcement officers heard gunfire near 65th Street and Hoyne Avenue in West Englewood, police said.

Officers were driving west on 65th toward the shots when they saw an armed man, Creamer, running toward their vehicle, police said. After the officers got out of their vehicles and identified themselves to Creamer, he pointed a gun at them, police said.

One officer fired at Creamer, but he continued running toward them, police said. He was arrested a short distance away and suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

That's one:
  • During the incident, police heard more gunfire. Officers saw at least three people at 65th and Hoyne when one person fired at the officers, police alleged.

A second officer returned fire at the alleged gunman, Brown, who then fled northbound on Hoyne, police said. He was caught a block away, police said.

Brown was not injured, police said. Officers have recovered shell casings from the scene but not a weapon.

That's two, within moments of each other:
  • In a separate shooting about 8 p.m. Saturday, Ogden District police responded to a report of gunfire in the 1500 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood.

Police approached a suspect, who then hopped in a van and fled. Officers chased the van to the 1900 block of South Sawyer Avenue, where the vehicle stopped. The man got out and fired at police, authorities said.

Officers returned fire, hitting the man in the leg, police said. No officers were injured.

Three.

So are any of these listed in J-Fled's "predictive analysis" computer? Or is that just for criminals shooting at criminals?

OT--

Here, another appalling case of the deaths of two children; these come so fast and furious that one case is crowded out almost immediately by the next spectacular example of blank, staring, utter stupidity.

"Regina M. Lofton has been charged with endangerment after her twin 1-year-old girls were found dead in their Far South Side, Chicago home Wednesday evening.

"Friday autopsies revealed both girls died of hyperthermia (elevated body temperature), environmental exposure and failure to thrive due to maternal neglect, according to the medical examiner’s office. Failure to thrive is a condition characterized by low body weight and small size, often caused by malnutrition.

"Both deaths were ruled homicides."

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/08/14/chicago-mom-charged-twin-babies-deaths/

There's certainly no "failure to thrive" among the alleged adults involved in these cases, is there? Child care didn't seem to fit into anyone's busy schedule, but once the kids died in a boiling hot room in August, a dozen morbidly obese "friends and family members" suddenly filled the tiny front porch, wailing, their shoulders shaking, clutching each other in a peculiar brand of "grief" that never seems to extend quite as far as giving a bottle or changing a diaper...

We suppose there'll be a "trust fund" set up any minute now.

Be on the lookout for Stashitwear?

From the Wall Street Journal. I couldn't make this up...

Brooklyn police officers were involved in the ultimate "debriefing" last month when a prisoner being questioned told them about the latest in criminal fashion: underwear with secret pockets.

A memo circulated to all members of the New York Police Department, and viewed by The Wall Street Journal, warns officers to be aware that "drug dealers are using underwear with secret pockets sold in stores from several different companies to hold drugs and small weapons."...

The underwear contains a pocket with a six- to eight-inch opening at the waistband that goes 12 to 14 inches deep, depending on the size of the underwear.

The pocket goes all the way down the front and up the back side. According to the website: "this basically makes your whole crotch area a secret place for your valuables."

Or, as the NYPD's Mr. Patti says: "A lot of drugs or a small .38 or .22 caliber handgun. … They're not advertising these things for drug dealers but they have to know they're going to be used by some people who break the law."

****

I agree the defense was insulting that the gangbanger wasn't trying to shoot the officers just "scare them" and the jury did make a HUGE mistake in finding him not guilty of attempted murder. but he was convicted of aggravated battery with a firearm of a PO and aggravated discharge at PO for the partner. There is not a huge difference in the sentencing. The shithead is still looking at 30 - 100 years. The liberal jury bought the nonsense but hopefully the judge saw through the bullshit.

It is ridiculous that you can shoot an officer in the upper torso and claim you weren't trying to kill him. Bottom line though the gang officer is ok, the shithead got shot and won't be out for a very long time.

Next we get yet another civilian in the CAPS Department as the newly minted position of Deputy Director. This, because we all know the 15 years and millions of dollars we have spent on this abysmal failure of a program isn't enough. We can squeeze a few more wasted positions into it and tap the taxpayers for some more secured Democratic votes.

Well what the hell. We didn't need that money that could have been used for 5 or 6 new Police Officers. Better to waste it on more civilian bosses because that's been so successful.

SCC, When I was detailed to HQ, Brett G had this AMAZING idea: Use computers to predict the location of the next 0110. The brilliance of Brett's logic is why J-Fled has decided to give him $141,000.00 a year: "If someone gets killed there, we say the program works. If not, we say we prevented a homicide by saturating the area, so the program works. It's a win-win." At the time, R&D laughed it off. Brett's the one laughing now. I knew J-Fled was a coward, a political hack, and steroid abusing freak...I just had no idea how truly dumb he was.
