Bad Guy Wounded in 010
A Chicago police officer was involved in a shooting that injured a suspect this evening on the West Side, officials said.
The shooting took place about 7:55 p.m. in the 1900 block of South Sawyer Avenue, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer [...].
It was believed no officers were injured, and the person shot was a suspect, police said.

Big changes to Officer's rights when dealing with IPRA went into effect 01-AUG-10. Grievances files already. IPRA wants a statement within 2 hours of a shooting and wants it on tape. IPRA claims you are a "witness" at your own shooting, so you have witness rights. FOP says you have 48 hours and no recording. This may be the end of the round table. Grievances supposedly expedited. This was all done between FOP and city negotiating team. Bosses department wide are in "what the fuck" mode. They had no knowledge of any of this. Bosses are now required to order you to give a statement. All at a great time when we've basically lost our 5th amendment rights. Ilana Rosenzweig has been running this thing for three years and hasn't found a dirty shooting yet. She is determined to get a copper's scalp before she moves on to the next big money job.

But thanks AGAIN 008 district midnights for letting me down yet AGAIN. I understand that you guys are very busy and stacked with jobs on the east end, but when an off duty po calls for assistance you can be sure that it isn't some ****head security guard or ghetto ass cc sheriff living in the west end of 008 who wants you to show up. I just don't get it, helping out po's and tax paying citizens is the only self fullfilment I get on this job, and that certainly takes priority over the ghetto nonsense.

thank GOD so far i have not been involved in a shooting,and am a proud KMA club member! But if it happens i am immediately going to have chest pains,headache loss of ability to speak, get me to a hospital! there's your statement how you like us now rosenweig?

I was monitoring the zone last night. The supervisors in 010 made a mockery of themselves. At a point when the neighborhood starts coming out on the police, the sergeants are more concerned with a backlog and clearing up cars from the scene. Who cares about the safety of the police, but God forbid Pookie calls Mookie "out her name".
010 supervisors = soft balls
If IPRA considers me a "witness" at my own shooting, then can I do what all the usual witneses do at other shootings and refuse to talk to the Police, tell them I didn't see a thing? Just wonderin.
Fuck the IPRA and especially Ilana Rosenwig. BTW,I will be advising all my people at rollcall that if they are, God forbid, involved in a shooting, to immediately request that a team of paramedics be dispatched and that I be taken to the hospital for those "chest pains" they will be experiencing.
Talk to IPRA within two hours after being involved in a shooting you say? I say FUCK YOU! I and my people will be utilizing the same rule that the FBI uses in agent involved shootings. That is the rule that Judy was able to use when he was with the FBI wasn't it?
It's been said before, but it bears repeating: the stupidest thing J-Fled has done was to get rid of the Street Deputy. Here was consistency and experience with just a phone call.
The recently promoted, some who have never passed a test to get promoted, are now what stands between paperwork done right and wiggle room for a giant law suit.
Penny wise and pound foolish, not to mention the poor copper that needs some calm experience out there. I cannot blame people for doing the bare minimum anymore.

Nothing like a dog sitting back, doing nothing and giving out bullshit information. No one came out on the Police in 010. They were out. The only thing you heard was Supervisors and PO's shutting down parties of 100 to 200 + with absolutly no problems. So jag off, come outside and be the Police once in your career. Feel safe knowing your brothers and sisters are out doing a job you hide from? Go answer a phone or something. Maybe you will have the right answer to someones question. You definitely arent worth much on the street, that Im sure. Thanks to all the hard work in 010 last night to all those who arent afraid to get in the mix. Looks like everyone is owed a lunch due to the fact none of us got one last night during our 12 hour rap.... 010 Supervisor.
I have been involved in a few police involved shootings and the IPRA Investigators all talked like old time detectives and were sick of the "he couldn’t a had no gun!" phantom witnesses. Of course all the shooting I was involved in were good ones. No reverends were calling and no cops were seriously hurt.

There are huge problems in Chicago and its police department. Innocent civilians should be very, very afraid. This is not a joke. People who are running things think we are making widgets or something. We as a department are SO fucked!

Thank you. Not all CC Sheriff's are "ghetto" or "gangbangers". Yes, there are some, just like there's some "ghetto/gangbanger" CPD members. Don't judge a group based on some bad apples.
