Crime Still Down!

  • A 64-year-old man was shot to death by someone firing at a group of teenagers as he walked out of a store in the South Shore neighborhood this afternoon.

Mobolaji Osho, of the 1700 block of East 70th Street, was declared dead from gunshot wounds at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 2:44 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Citing preliminary information, a district captain said police believe there was only one shooter and that Osho might have been coming out of a sandwich shop when he was hit.

But don't worry - arson is down.

It ain't down, its just a waste of time for the regular folks to report. Besides, up in 016 the cops will spend more time talking you out of a report than it takes to write it.

The guy that jumped from the window to avoid police:
According to the sheriff's office, citing court records, McIntyre has been convicted of assault 21 times, obstructing justice 39 times and has 20 more convictions for invasion of privacy.

The young male who "found a .380" and his nephew accidentally shot his brother:
In a court hearing midday today, Heard was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bail. Prosecutors said he had an extensive juvenile record, including three convictions for possession of a controlled substance.

When is the Cook County court system going to do thier jobs???

Certain areas of the 003rd District are known "war zones". One area in particular, regardless of the claim of urban gentrification and renewal, is still very dangerous - day or night. Traveling along 71st Street from (evren from as far west as California) east to the Lakefront is like taking your life in your own hands - especially once you reach the Dan Ryan and parts east in the 003rd District. There have been a rash of random shootings in a concentrated area around 71st and Stony Island Avenue since the first of the year. East from there to South Shore Drive is like driving through Baghdad. Examination of the reports of those shooting should reveal no relationship between the shooters (the ones identified) and the victims. In most cases folks were shot just because they were "in the way" of just "wrong place, wrong time".
I'm guessing J-Fled and the Policy People will eventually come up with a different classification to explain why relative innocents are being shot and killed - for no apparent reason. Maybe it won't go against Chicago crime statistics if the poor, unfortunate victim had the audacity to walk into Pookey's line of fire.

say what!!!

Huh?

It's all about gangs you fool!!! Random? I don't think so!!!
Stop analyzing from your empty heads and behind theses damn computers and look around you...

In 003, it's all about gangs from the lake to Stony island..
More shooting are happening because of gangs,,, about the same time every year and for the past 5 years we've been responding to nothing but gang related shootings..

Stop analyzing!!!

One officer was good at it in Area 2 and always hit it on the head. We're still responding to gang violence

it is NOT random!!!!
Can I get an event number?

Move on!!!!

A dozen South Side honor students were arrested in 001 last night for mob action.

20+ m/1 and f/1 teen thugs, dressed in the latest hip-hop shop-lifted school-year fashions from H&M and Hollister, cheered one another on as they gave a sidewalk beat down to an employee of Lizzie McNeill's in Streeterville (018). The horde fled the scene along the river walk and made their way into 001, where 12 of these wipes were cornered at the corner of Wacker/Michigan, being slow of foot and loud of mouth.

The most amazing thing happened when one of the offenders yelled out "Why are you always messing with us? Go arrest that white kid over there." A M/1 citizen overhearing the comment yelled back "Go stick that race card up your *ss."

In addition, several roving mobs of 40+ M/1 and F/1 teens were causing mayhem along Michigan Ave and Chicago Ave.

Where were the parents?
