It's like CAPS, but international in stature:
- The United States Olympic Committee has not ruled out a bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics and the timing of the process makes it likely 2016 loser Chicago would be its most viable candidate.
"I think it would be challenging for any other city to organize a bid in that time frame but not impossible," U.S. Olympic Committee chairman Larry Probst told the Tribune after delivering his state of the USOC address to the organization's general assembly Friday.
The International Olympic Committee will choose the 2020 Olympic host in 2013. Based on past timetables, the USOC would have to present a bid in early autumn 2011.

The city's power elite removed Daley as frontman because his negatives wre way too high and they still have alot to suck out of Chicago before they abandon it. 30 years of Olympic debt? Who gives a fuck! The builders will be paid up front and the crackheads and cops who have to live here can pay the freight until 2040!
They are running a clever disinformation campaign to make it appear that the Daley's aren't associated with the rise of Rahm. They even had Bill Daley go out and say he isn't running, creating the illusion that he might have. Right now they are bullying and bribing the opposition.
They started thinking this way as long ago as 2002 when Rahm took Blago's congressional seat.

Hmm. You don't think Mayor Emanuel would work twice as hard as Daley did to land this enormous opportunity for graft?
Chicago's failure to get the Games wasn't exactly due to our streets being jammed with screaming protesters. Looking back, there was hardly a squeak -- the whole thing was decided in some penthouse.
The last I heard, Brazil has had to call out their army as cheap forced labor to work on the enormous, ruinously expensive construction projects that are already far behind schedule.
Miserable India is similarly struggling to further bankrupt itself in hosting the Commonwealth Games.

Daley thinks this is a wonderful idea, now they need a committee for the 2020 olympics, and he will be the chairman at 300 grand, and they will have to have assistants, and they will be all his kids, cousins, spouses and so on. and the body guards will be needed again. The Olympics here would be nice, provided they didn't lose money and it could be done with little corruption and graft. Since these things can't happen in Chicago, we don't need the Olympics. The earlier World's Fair and the Columbian Exposition were good because they showcased the city and made it a destination for travelers. We also got some nice parks and boulevards out of them, if I'm not mistaken. We don't need to showcase Chicago anymore, people are aware of it already. The other reason we don't need the games here is because it would be a great place for a terrorist attack and I shudder to think what would happen if an attack actually happened here. Hell, our hospitals are already going broke servicing indigents and illegals and with Obamacare, who knows what shape the health delivery services will be in by then.
just heard from a friend(very good source). feds just wrapped up an investigation on several coppers in harvey, cook county sheriffs police, south holland aurora, gary,in and cpd who have been distributing dope to dealers and giving protection in chicago, waukegan, aurora and gary,in. heard there could be about two dozen or so indictments(mostly from harvey and gary, a handful from cook county and south holland pd, and heard only one or two from cpd). all officers involved are m/4 officers with one officer on an outside department was a former gang leader with the kings.... but hey, lets get rid of testing and just take applications to be the police.

Don't think for a second that small digital audio recorders aren't in constant daily use here in Chicago.
Schoolcraft carried one daily for 17 months and recorded his entire tour, every day.

Daley quoted yesterday saying that his successor shouldn't pursue a bid.
If he tells you the sky is blue, that means its red.
That means....It's balls out full steam ahead! They sent him out to make that statement in hopes of defusing the topic and sent the signal to the media not to make it an issue that Rahm has to deal with during the coming mayor's election.
