Predict the Sergeant
Here's one that even the Predictive Analysis Unit might be able to get right:
- I just perused the qualifications for the Sergeant openings at OCD. Please go to the Human Resources Division web page, look it over and tell me I am not the only one to think the job is already gone to a brand new Sergeant who came from OCD prior to his promotion, who has a little college but not a degree. He has some medical absences and is only acceptable in the area of attendance. This administration is even more crooked than ever. He has taken a few outside training courses and is probably rifle qualified. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Sergeant with 2 years in rank (unless has previous experience in OCD).
2. Acceptable Attendance.
3. Previous experience working on a team of some sort.
4. Must have his own registered informants.
5. Must have been an affiant on search warrants.
6. Must list outside training courses taken.
7. Must have 2 recommendations.
I would say they did everything in this advertisement except print the person's name......Can anybody figure it out before they appoint this guy.....The winner gets assigned to the Predictive Analysis Unit!!!
Wow. Talk about your "narrow field" of candidates. It's almost like that SWAT test for sergeants where they disqualified candidates who had been previously thrown out of the HBT program, then suddenly made an exception for the policy group sergeant, even though he showed up with the wrong equipment. Not that they filled that spot - they just had him made "meri-clout-orious" lieutenant a few weeks ago. Business as usual.

RayRay for the SWAT test had the right equipment, it was inspected. RayRay went so far as the be decitful and switch his equiptment as KB and BH came down for his cheer section. He was caught red handed. Everyone was scared to dq him. Lots of hush hush talking in the corner. Really, it's all legit.
O.T. Bill Cozzi. I am a firm supporter of any ast. that may be given to Bill. However, it is apparent to me that J-FLED was the disciple given marching orders from the Hall to massacre Bill. J-FLED did what he was told! Does anyone think J-FLED would have cruxified Cozzi without the Hall giving orders. Mayor Daley got nervous about the Cozzi incident, so the Mayor conformed to what ever the Revs. wanted. Good source - the Hall ordered J-FLED to perform Cozzi's public relations execution.
Actually Ray had the right equipment because all the candidates had to stand and have their duty belt inspected. After he had his inspected he had to "go to the bathroom." He shot the course, passed, and was caught with a non approved holster that he had switched to while in the bathroom. Tracy Ladner killed feeble attempts to disqualify Ray, said he passed and there was nothing they could do about it. Of course no one in the SWAT training group put up much of a fuss, promises were made before the process even started. Funny though, they screwed the other sgts for nothing. Ray is a LT now, but this is how One Way Ray is. Always out for himself and covering all the angles. Hey training group, be prepared to get bent over. Ray has a habit of lying and screwing over people to get what he wants. So don't be too disappointed when you don't get what was promised. LM and AK, karma is a bitch, and I hope you guys get the bitch slap you deserve. Hypocritical phone call babies.
SCC, I don't like your tone. JFled was brought here to clean up the CPD. What you are suggesting is "business as usual" and I have heard Fled say that he came here to stop that shit.
The best part is, is that this isn't even the case for sergeants that are there now. Atleast for Sgt D. H.-W. and Sgt J.D., if you going to throw this out there atleast do it for your current sgt's...wtf.

This is also how the city hires certain clout contractors you write the job description to only fit the person you want and then later you can say they were the only bidder. I believe the city has lost a few lawsuits over this type of crap. Merit promotions are an absoulute joke. Jfraud needs to go and go soon

I am laughing my ass off because a certain P.O. that was Dugans driver and stat fudger is getting bounced out of DownTown Ernie Browns office and is all scared to go back to Patrol. Seems to be he is no on the other end getting bounced just like he use to do the same to others as a P.O. Classic. By the way he is the worst football coach ever. Goodbye G.S. This is how the city, not just the department bypasses shakman. They post a job opening with the qualifications amazingly exactly the same as an" applicant's" resume.

That was a real stinger! To work so hard to make something legit--the SWAT test--only to have them make a total mockery of it with the SGT's test. Test? Not even close. Ray-Ray took a slot which he never occupied, leaving the team short one Sgt.
Yosh was denied furtherance in the process because of his disciplinary action while on the team. Ray-Ray had the same situation but was pushed thru. Now he's poised to come back as our fearless leader. Morale takes another dive.
Good news, another test for Operators is coming up in the next month or so. It'll be interesing to see if they go back to the legit method or bend the rules yet again and push Ray-Ray's girls thru. Good thing safety isn't an issue.

OT- Unbelievable!!! Supposedly the A.S. and the Superintendants wife are hosting an invitation only event " burning the bra" for female police to have a meet and greet with female exempts. Only the " most exceptional" females with the " most potential" have been allowed to be invited. I guess if you are a stand up broad working the street you do not qualify. I wonder if thios was a brain fart from the girls in the policy group?

The department has been doing this for years: they announce an opening for an officer or sergeant along with the qualification needed. However, the qualifications are tailored to fit just one or two people. They know that most working coppers with families cannot aford outside training or if they have not clout will not be selected for department paid training. And, who the hell has registered informants unless you work in a specialized unit? Even then, you might not have. Same old game playing. They knew ahead of time who they wanted and just gave the pretense of openness.Disheartning to say the least.
I remember when Hoke and Cushing were running Narcotics and then OCD.
#1 Must have 4 years before applying for 189 as a PO.
#2 Checked the medical rolls and if a abuser not considred.
#3 Experience was not required but loved people coming from Tac teams.
#4 C.I.'s needed to move off a street team.
#5 Must be an affiant on SW's to move off a street team.
#6 Education off the job was looked at but preferred working P.O.'s not educated pukes!
#7 Looked at recommendations with a skeptical eye, would take the word of working bosses but refused to take the words of political hacks.
#8 If you had a questionable history relating to ethical matters you would not be coming no matter who you clout was.
What ever happened to the boss who took time off to make 30K as a "privatized" boss during the movie filming downtown?

The Narcotics section could do a whole lot worse than Lee Bilecki.
And why would a Sgt. have to come into the unit bringing 'his own informants?' It's not a Sgts. job to sign up informants, that's an officer's job! Of course, they threw that in there to keep patrol Sgts. from being able to get into 'Club Clout.'

Where in the municipal code allows a Segway to be operated in the city?
Being retired sometimes it is difficult to understand all the "inside" jokes(if you will) and just the use of initials to follow what is happening. On another note, yes the days of getting into Narcotics may have been different(but so is everything about this department. Just a "footnote' E.B (Ernie Brown) was brought to Narcotics on Cushings watch....... so there you go.

Are you kidding me ... I was in narcotics when Hoke was running things. PLenty of people came in with less than four years .. One guy camw in with less than two AH. If you had the Townsend or Beavers Call you were in.
In re: to Bill Cozzi - it was the mayor's guy, Ald. Banks, that saved Bill at the police board. At the request of a certain former Lt. Daley had no idea Weis was going to pull a boner like he did. It is all on Weis's hands only. (Not that I want to defend Daley for anything)
