I just perused the qualifications for the Sergeant openings at OCD. Please go to the Human Resources Division web page, look it over and tell me I am not the only one to think the job is already gone to a brand new Sergeant who came from OCD prior to his promotion, who has a little college but not a degree. He has some medical absences and is only acceptable in the area of attendance. This administration is even more crooked than ever. He has taken a few outside training courses and is probably rifle qualified. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Sergeant with 2 years in rank (unless has previous experience in OCD).
2. Acceptable Attendance.
3. Previous experience working on a team of some sort.
4. Must have his own registered informants.
5. Must have been an affiant on search warrants.
6. Must list outside training courses taken.
7. Must have 2 recommendations.
I would say they did everything in this advertisement except print the person's name......Can anybody figure it out before they appoint this guy.....The winner gets assigned to the Predictive Analysis Unit!!!
who's to say there even were any "witnesses"?

Are there any recommendations regarding home exterior security cameras?
I am looking for a self-install solution or a reputable business with honest, non-criminal owners and installers.
I live on a corner and my building is peristently visited by hit and run taggers.
Other than telling me to move out of the city, does any reader have information that would prove helpful?

I am not a cop, but have several relatives who are in the Chicago area. I was just curious how long does it take for the IPRA take to finish their investigation, especially if the incident was on video?? Hopefully while it's still fresh in everyone's mind (or at least on the web). Then the Officers involved will be vindicated and maybe "joe the cop" too... But I guess that vindicating the Cops will not fit into Joe's template.
SFPD copper here. . . That cartoon is as relevant here in the SF Bay Area as it is elsewhere. The only thing missing is that the decedent was "an aspiring rapper" who was "trying to be a good father"

How long does it take IPRA to complete an investigation? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I believe the investigation has to be completed within seven years. No joke.
SCC, please go to www.uptownupdate.com and look at the photos from a recent shooting in 023. Uptown now has shootings everyday , in broad daylight. Their have been a multiple homicides, and drive bys this summer yet the media never, ever reports it. I wonder why???

The cartoon and "Joe the Cop's" analysis is right on point. A certain constituent in this City is sooo transparent.
You know what they are going to say and how they act long before they ever do it. This certain demographic is extremely predictable and all you have to do is observe them for a few minutes and everyone expects them to complain that they didn't get enough free hand-outs or that they are being mistreated by the po--leece or the government. Its always the same song and dance and most people in this country have started to figure it out.
I also find it funny that the liberal media and that convicted felon George Lash's family and run around slandering the police officers and rush to judgement and accusations but the second that someone exposes their bullshit modus operandi and criticizes the family for their ultra predictive behavior the liberals hoot and holla that "Joe the Cops" comments are racist. I read his template and there was no mention of race whatsoever. But that is the typical liberal mindset, their rights are pinnacle but if somebody expresses their right to free speech and they disagree with it, "its racist."
I am glad most people see right through their B.S. and I pray Lash's family doesn't get a dime.

Man charged with killing brother after dice game

An Englewood neighborhood man has been charged in connection with the May murder of his older brother following a dice game, police said.
Chicago police from the Department's mobile strike force found Curtis Marble, 26, of the 1500 block of West 63rd Street, hiding in an abandoned building Friday night after being alerted by Wentworth Area detectives of his involvement in the killing.
In May, Marble and his brother, Laird, 27, were involved in an altercation on the 6100 block of South Bishop Street - the victim's home, according to the medical examiner's office - following a dice game, when the suspect grabbed a handgun and shot his brother.
