::Yawn:: Four More in Englewood
Four people -- ranging in age from 15 to 57 years old -- were shot on a South Side street Friday night.
The shooting happened about 10:33 p.m. on the 1600 block of West 69th Street, according to a report from police News Affairs.
Word is that J-Fled and the policy group are looking at banning Fridays in an effort to keep the weekend violence down.

"Word is that J-Fled and the policy group are looking at banning Fridays in an effort to keep the weekend violence down."
You mean they can actually predict Fridays now?
So this begs the question:
When does GoldenShower and his Posse of Predictive Police Poseurs get called-in on the carpet to explain their piss-poor predictive percentage?
Brett needs to get bounced back to Fillmore where, with 100% accuracy, he can predict that Henny Penny is a bonafide idiot.
J-fled called a secret meeting of the ubersensational policy group to discuss new plans to slow down the number of shootings in Chicago. Here is what the suggestions were....
Masters Masters Masters recalled being at the Auditorium Theater with his partner to see "Cats". During the performance there was a part where it rained. He suggested that by working in conjunction with the crystal ball unit they could purchase large machines and "make it rain" in the area where gun violence was predicted therefore the gang bangers would stay inside because of the weather.
Ray Ray said by working with the crystal ball unit the city could erect a structure large enough to enclose an entire neighborhood inside a dome-like building. Any homicides that occur within the structure would be "indoor" homicides and therefore would be unpreventable. After hearing this idea Masters Masters Masters sided with Ray Ray knowing it would be a great opportunity for Daley's pals to lock in a few more city contracts before Daley's term is up.
Karen B. suggested creating a new unit made up of super high speed warriors like her Women's Tactical Association members and deploy them in the hot spots to put an end to the criminal behavior once and for all.
J-Fed commended his trio, recommended they all receive a department Award of Valor, and said he was going home to have a cosmo and watch Sex in the City and would consider all three ideas.
(AP) 8 shot, 3 stabbed, 1 dead at east LA house party
[...]"I've never seen so many aggravated assaults in one scene," Capt. Anita Ortega told the Los Angeles Times.
No arrests have been made. Ortega said that different kind of shell casings at the scene suggested multiple shooters.
The incident does not appear to be gang related, authorities said.
"We have no indication that this was a gang site," Ortega said. "Only that it was a house party open to everyone with a fee of $10 and a lot of beer."

Seriously?
the city may try to get the lympics again in 2020--- we can't have these savages running around blasting each other, it's bad for business... it's time for another jodi weis gang summit--- you better stop gangbanging, selling dope, and shooting or else we will tow your car and do a contact card on you--- and i will be getting an event number also, that will teach you to fuck with the police.....
I'm initiating "Operation I Don't Give a Shit."
Effective immediately.
You know that if guns were outlawed, this wouldn't happen.
It's amazing anyone still lives in Englewood with the number of shootings there each year.
Surely this can not be correct !! Supt. Weis met with the leaders of the gangs and told them that they were responsible. Boy are they gonna get it now !! Stepped up parole visits and traffic stops and veh. seizures should be happening any minute now !!! Yep ,any second they're gonna start ,this is a perfectly legal and previously used and effective technique !! Yep any minute now, they're gonna pull out that RICO statute.....right?
As a citizen, I am fed up hearing about Englewood. Last night on the local news which I rarely watch, a segment featured some community activist organizing basketball games between rival gang members, teaming them up with each other. The idea is if they get to know one another as teamates playing basketball, they will be less likely to murder each other over who sells a rock on the others street corner. Now I tip my hat to the organizer and his goals but there is something unredeeming about a community that is so broken and at war with itself and requires this kind of social engineering to fix it. This is why I am sympathetic to the police who are charged with the duty of keeping order in Englewood. To hell with those people. It seems simply; duty in 007 is without meaningful reward. My assumption from decades of news coverage and some personal experience in my service sector job is that those people live there BECAUSE it is a crime haven. Law abiding, decent citizens get the hell out of Englewood.
"::Yawn:: Four More in Englewood"
So?
Englewood will never be violence free as long as the current residents are there. You would need one police officer for each resident around the clock and still that might not do it.
The newspapers make it sound like some violent invaders come in when no one is looking and visit violence on the nice peace loving people. That isn't true. Shooting and stabbing and murdering each other is as normal as cutting the grass is in other neighborhoods.
A female PO who grew up in Englewood told me of her grandmother (who raised her) making up her bed every night, in the cast iron bathtub, so she wouldn't catch a stray bullet during the night.
That was near 35 years ago. Not much has changed since then.
how can that be ???? we have the great Goldstein predicting where crime will occur ???
i'll bet alot of folks owned guns at 69th & ashland in the 1950's , 60's and 70's and there were no shootings
I wonder why the change in violence
could the crystal ball unit post an answer
"It's amazing anyone still lives in Englewood with the number of shootings there each year.

they shove them out a hole faster than they can put them into one.
"A 16-year-old boy was shot in... Englewood...At 1:37 a.m., the teen and another person got into a fight after leaving a party"
Aint no party like an englewood party cuz at englewood parties someone gets shot!
My Mom says 69th and Ashland was all Italian until the early 70's. I wonder what they attribute the surge in violence to?
Actually SCC, in hind site the meeting J-fed had with gang leaders was genius. Notice he did the meeting at the end of summer. With the change in weather shooting are bound to decrease from the pace during the summer. I predict that at a press conference in the near future J-fed will be patting himself on the back for the drop in the pace of shootings. Oops, I better not use the word predict because I'm not in that unit.
my buddy in 015 told me it was nucking futs over there last night too.
Commander Tony asleep at the wheel.
Slow weekend in 'daWood!

I lived in Englewood as a child in the early to mid sixties. Didn't seem to be much trouble from what I recall. Englewood had some blacks living there in the 1920's, a small pocket mostly in the area of 61st Racine/Loomis. Lots of Irish and some Germans inhabited Englewood from the 1800's on.
The percentages changed in the early to mid 60's probably due to the "Great Migration" from the southern states. And then the SHTF.
I grew up on the west end of englewood around 69th & Damen. For some reason my family moved from the neighborhood in the early 1970's !!!!
What I really wonder about is why these big city bosses from the Mayor on down, get paid so damn much to produce such poor, lackluster results. They are way too highly overpaid, and the taxpayers dollars would be much better spent putting more hired Cops on the streets, instead of paying these overweight and overpaid ego-maniac balloon head do notions their 6 figure salaries. I could maybe see it if any of them produced some outstanding results, but that never happens.

just what, exactly, do you think his goals are?
Brett needs to get bounced back to Fillmore where, with 100% accuracy, he can predict that Henny Penny is a bonafide idiot.
Send him to 014 so he can predict that L. Flores is a SUPERB IDIOT!

How many times do you think the media can drop "Mobile Strike Force" into a story?
Working on the other half of Zone 6 all last week and the citizens must have called on this guy a handful of times saying he was in different abando's. Must be easy when you don't have to answer radio assignments.

In 1990, under Vincent Lane, CHA tried "Midnight Basketball".
Re: Leaving Englewood
If the murders of Ryan Harris and Jennifer Hudson's family members didn't produce a mass migration out of Englewood, then nothing will.
