An "Uncommon" Occurrence

  • Two men were shot Monday night outside the aldermanic office of Democratic nominee for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.

The men — ages 19 and 26 — were wounded in a drive-by shooting on the 4600 block of S. Cottage Grove, police said.

One victim was shot in his foot and the other in the leg. Preckwinkle (4th) said shootings are not common in the area and the incident was not related to her.

We guess it's only common if you draw the circle big enough.

Uncommon?

PO James Camp (RIP) was murdered seven blocks away on Cottage Grove. There are always shooting problems in her ward!

47th & Cottage is a significant problem area/hot spot. Countless M/1's hang out in front of her Aldermanic Office day & night. They sell across the street in the O'Reilly's (old Murray's) parking lot day in and day out. The opposite corner liquor store is a crime haven and you can get a side of just about any narcotic with your Happy Meal at the McDonald's directly west of her office. No worries for dude when he gets shot as there is a fire station at 46th & Cottage that serves as a walk-up triage center for their GSW's. 021 and 002 share this intersection so it kind of gets lost in the stats shuffle for those of you working/relying on info. at/from Fled Quarters on 35th St. You have to pull the stats in both districts to get the full picture of the problem at 47th & Cottage, not just half of it, Brett. By the way, Obama's house is a half mile away from this shooting. "Squad, can I get an event number for an Obama check?" "10-4, it's on the Box." "10-99, thank you, Squad."

A Prairie Dist. PO

PS . . . I always pause for a moment of silence each time I pass PO Camp's picture above the desk in 021 & also while on patrol at his place of rest on Cottage. To this day, it is sad to see the unproductive M/1's hanging out/selling/drinking/spitting/pissing where Camp was killed as if nothing happened there. To me, it is the ultimate sign of disrespect to us in Blue.

In other words, Alderman Preckwinkle is a lying piece of...but then you knew that already.

What was the last actual Alderman who stopped a bullet around there? Leon DesPres, wasn't it?

OFF TOPIC: For anyone running against the current FOP staff. The stories about the FOP in bed with the City is true. Just ask any B & A guys about the deal / contract violation the FOP allowed the City to do regarding the reduction in manpower in Bomb and Arson. Major contract violations!!!!!! Respond I have the dirt!!!!!

One kilt yesterday 63rd & Rhodes, another shot 45 minutes later 63rd & cottage. Must be the neighborhood. Maybe the poor and underprivileged got bored while on their coffee break from their jobs. Thankfully there's the "lank" card so you could always but fresh ammo at Abdul's corner store.
