As I sit on my couch feeling sad about not having the Olympics in Chicagos future I wonder this....... If EVERY Police Officer and/or City worker just move out of the City because we are tired of the bullsh!t here..... What Would Daley Do (WWDJ)? I wish I could just sit back in the suburbs and see what its like to carry out my garbage unarmed..... To drive to the gas station without feeling like I'm gonna be robbed or physically attacked....To not have to watch all the drive by drug sales going on the west side in the 8th District (drug addicts actually buying their drugs in front of our homes, thanks to all the mobile M/1 and F/1 narcotics distributors)..... To have neighbors who actually pay their own mortgages and can use the public schools for their children (after all, isn't that the biggest chunk of our property tax?) I wonder......

Oh, the THRILL OF DEFEAT!!! That was the day: The rejection and shock and sadness displayed on the faces of Chicagoans across the city!! Chicago: The BIGGEST Loser!!!

No star #5 on the City of Chicago flag, King Richard. That's what you really wanted, wasn't it? Star #5 to indicate the host city for the 2016 Olympics.

Well, it's all about the MONEY, right Rich? When was it not about the money? Money: It's first to whatever is second! You know, Rich. Like the money you saved with the collaboration and corroboration of Chicago's next mayor, Rahm Emanuel and, of course, President Obama, who both put the muscle on Arbitrator Benn to minimize the pay raise for cops. Remember that officers when you see the sign: Rahm for Mayor!
That's why you withdrew your offer because you knew you had the muscle and support in Washington to get a lower pay rate from Arbitrator Benn.

hey 50 and out......I used to work for the city but quit because of Daley family members but thats a different story so.I lived in Garfield Ridge until the middle of July and decided to move to DuPage Co.because of the school situation at Byrne, I have family and many friends that still live there because they must I am only 11 miles from Archer and Harlem the shopping rules out here and seeing constant police patrol and low crime makes me wish I did the move 5 years ago before my kid started school at a CPS uneducation facility

We could have done the Olympics and have been proud to have been part of it.

IF! The city would have been solvent in the first place, not literally wasting money at every turn on flower boxes and "sanctuary city" bullshit.

And IF, the city would have been fair with all of the employees and not cry WE'RE BROKE! every contract.

Look the video of Richie the other day talking about the Olympics. He said, "It's not about the Olympians and the Para-Olympians, it's all about the money." He had such an evil look on his face.

Stay safe, register and vote.

I for one do not care what Lt goes where or which clout guy got which clout job. I was aware of all this shit being rigged when I came on, as were most of us. To now cry foul and bleat how it isn't fair is juvenile. Did anyone who came on this job really not know how things were done in Chicago? Did anyone really believe it was a fairly run on the level organization?

I knew it was phony and as crooked as the hunchback of notre dame.

And I have been compensated pretty well for a high school dropout with a GED, well, actually, a high school thrown out, they didn't want me and I didn't want them.

I came on with a GED and since have gotten a BS degree with lots of help from tuition reimbursement.

All in all, there's money in the bank, pension fully vested, deferred tuition could be more but still a small pile of cash in there.

And now, 2 years, 11 months, and 28 days left.

Stay safe and don't let the bastards get you down. Remember, it's all rigged.

Get past that and have some fun.

Crisis-plagued Commonwealth Games Hit With Illness

By CHRIS LEHOURITES, AP Sports Writer

Sun Oct 3, 12:01 pm ET

"NEW DELHI – The crisis-plagued Commonwealth Games took another hit Sunday only hours before they were declared open when an Indian team official who had been living at the athletes' village was diagnosed with dengue fever.

"Dengue fever, a painful illness that can be life-threatening, is a viral disease that spreads through mosquito bites. It has become an issue in the Indian capital this year because of the extended monsoon season, which increased the amount of stagnant water around the city.

"The athletes' village, which some described as uninhabitable late last month, was said to have pools of water nearby as workers struggled to get things finished on time. The unhygienic conditions at the village even prompted several teams to delay their departures to India until things improved."

I won't bother with the other story here, "India Restores Pride With Games Opening Show."

Neither, just that frightening inability to think that's so common these days. Dull. Vague. Sullen. Is "stupid" the word I'm looking for? Like a blind cave beetle feeling its way around, looking for something to be offended by.

Equates "not wanting to have half the city ripped up for years for a useless two-week event that will take us the rest of the century to pay for" with "hating the world."

Duh.

Many of these people aren't quite sure of the topic being discussed in a given web forum -- it's all sort of the same to them, interchangeable. One big wall where you can scribble something, step back and regard one's markings with a childish satisfaction as being "just as good as everyone else's," and then wander off...

This is the high end of what our schools are producing these days. The others can't even put a sentence like that together; they are coming out as they went in, preliterate and nearly preverbal, swarming over stopped cars, shrieking and hurling mud.

Failed social experiment.

OT --

The Princes Of Doublespeak--

Just now, some "Brian Banmiller on CBS Radio News" --

"While the recession might be over, some are still feeling the pinch."

This is how they say "ongoing global depression triggered by insane financial speculation."

--10/02/2010 10:58:00 PM

I get pride out of my own achievements, rather than being proud of watching other people throw things on TV. (grin)

What would I have to be proud of here -- my ability to open my wallet and take the punishment, like my friend in England where they're paying 12 million pounds and counting for a 2010 Olympics that was originally estimated to cost 2 million pounds?

I got your "ifs" -- there's a depression on and we can't afford this either. I don't think anyone really can; down in Brazil, they've had to call out the army as cheap forced labor because the massive construction projects required for the Games we didn't get are so far behind already.

"Look the video of Richie the other day talking about the Olympics. He said, 'It's not about the Olympians and the Para-Olympians, it's all about the money.' He had such an evil look on his face."

Oh, that's Daley's standard inarticulate, primitive class-resentment thing. It's about the only bullet he has for his gun. "Those rich people over there" -- excluding him and the biggest gang of thieves in town, of course -- "don't care about you, the little guy, or the handicapped people."

He does that "It's the money, heh heh" number constantly - while grabbing the money.

"Stay safe, register and vote."

You betcha.

You remind me so much of what one guy -- black conservative, very sensible, very funny, can't rememnber his name -- said while sitting in for Rush Limbaugh on the radio one day.

"I'm old and I'm tired and my back bothers me. I don't want to live someplace where every time I park the car out front, I have to take the engine out and carry it into the house with me or it won't be there in the morning."
