Politicians Ignore Police Funeral

  • Officer Paul Dittamo, the D.C. police officer killed in a Saturday car crash, was eulogized and laid to rest today. But several prominent leaders were notably absent for the funeral -- the first for an officer killed in the line of duty since 2007. Mayor-Elect Vincent Gray, for one.

Mayor Adrian Fenty, who has been criticized for missing past funerals, did attend, albeit late.

Leaders of the police union, an early and enthusiastic endorser of Gray's, are irate. Union chairman Kristopher Baumann called the snub "unimaginable."

It sure is a long way from 9 years ago, isn't it? Here's another article about the snub - the mayor elect was lunching with the media?

Unbelievable. Shows you just what some politicians think of us. Considering that it is Washington D.C. bet the mayor is a democrat.

Look at it this way. While I don't know D.C. city politics, if I was killed in the line of duty, the last persons I'd want at my honors funeral is that yellow-bellied coward J-Fled and Dirty Little Richie. May both of them be cast into a special place in hell.

Ok by me, I ignore the funeral of every scum politician who ever dies in this city. There have been some whose passing I cheered. The stuttering prick's passing will be a holiday.

I don't want any of them to ever disgrace my funeral services should that occur as the result of an on duty incident. Family has written instructions to keep the blood sucking elected bastards out.

Suspect in kidnapping charged with stalking cop who arrested his nephew

November 8, 2010

BY KIM JANSSEN Staff Reporter kjanssen@suntimes.com
A suspected kidnapper stalked a Chicago cop who arrested his nephew, prosecutors allege.

Trini Morado, 39, of the 5100 block of South Normandy, followed the officer home on at least four occasions in October, Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Anne McCord said.

On one occasion he pulled his car up next to the officer's parked vehicle and stared at him, McCord said. On another he allegedly parked outside the officer's home and "stared at the victim's wife and his 7-year-old daughter for two minutes."

During a hearing Sunday morning, Judge James Brown ordered him held on bail of $250,000.

Morado, who weighs 305 pounds and has a tattoo that says "Everybody has two faces -- show me yours," wore a U.S. Postal Service jacket in court.

He was free on bail of $500,000 for an earlier kidnapping case when he was arrested and charged with stalking, prosecutors said.

Morado and his 22-year-old nephew Steven Morado allegedly kidnapped two teenagers and tried to burglarize their house in February, according to reports.

How did I ever guess it was the corner house across from the park where these two model citizens live.
As soon as it said 5100 block of south normandy that was the first house I thought of. Just had a gut feeling(it was right once again) by the looks of them nothing good was coming from there. Bunch of real beauties hanging out there all the time. Oh and they just happen to have a very unfriendly pit bull that resides there.

Stay safe boys and girls and thanks for all that you do for us taxpaying citizens.

Just another GarciaRidge resident who follows this blog.
Keep up the good work SCC!

What do you expect? Democrats Hate the Police, and only buddy-up when they can score Political Points. Other than that, they just want your tax-dollars, and soon , a percentage of your hard-earned pensions. Police Officers are better off without these Weasel Politicians coming to their Funerals. I've instructed my family not to let any Politicians or their weasel political hack appointed police bosses to set foot at my Wake and Funeral. Thats reserved for real Cops, Family, and true friends only.

the bond was only 250,000----thats ridiculous---that POS is obviously a threat to that officer and his family!! Union where are you!! We need a protest again---If this is true Holy Shit! SCC please try to find out if this is 100% accurate--If some Judge was being stalked you know the bond would be higher! No job is worth our families getting hurt--Its one thing if we want to make the ultimate sacrifice for ourself, which is our decision, but when POS start going after one of our family members game over---This officer needs protection, CPD officers, at his residence 24/7 like Daley and all his cronies have the luxury of. Union organize something even if WE, his brothers in blue have to take turns guarding the house and his family for nothing!

I might be able to help you out with a bit of (useless) context here.

Outgoing mayor Fenty is a Democrat, but he's actually done a job that most of you would be proud of in DC. Rhee the schools superintendent fired hundreds of the worst school employees. Lanier the police chief (Ramsey's replacement) actually got the DCPD into a position where they had zero homicides last December. Most people on the CPD would have learned to like Fenty by now, though he does come across a bit like an aloof yuppy. The DC ghetto people learned to hate him.

So they voted for Gray in the Democrat primary, and Gray won. Gray would be akin to something like a Carothers or Shaw (old days) from Chicago.

Fenty supporters wanted him to run in the general election as a Republican, but he declined.

So in sum, both of these guys are Democrats. Neither of them should be excused for missing the funeral or being late. But Fenty is still probably the best thing that happened to DC in 40 years.

Has Obama bothered to honor the police officers killed in the line of duty at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington?

I know he missed it his first year in office because he had something more important to do... that day he was honoring the Philadelphia Phillies for their World Series win.

He acted STUPIDLY with that decision. Actually, I don't think he's done much else that's been worth a f*ck ever since then either.

This is off Topic but I wanted my Brothers and Sisters in Blue to be aware and I'm asking to help give support to Crig Swistowicz.

Craig "SWISS" Swistowicz is assigned to Unit 189. In September 2007, he was detailed to a DEA Task Force. During a buy/bust operation, he was affecting an arrest of a subject carrying a handgun. Due to this arrest, The US Attorney's office has decided to look into the arrest. Officer Swistowicz has been stripped and now is facing serious allegations.
I know its a late notice but I'm asking my Brothers and Sisters give support to Craig "SWISS" Swistowicz. His Trial starts on 11/09/2010 at 230 S. Dearborn room 1925 in front of Judge Lefkow.

Politicians have been ignoring police for a long time, PERIOD!

Now they are attempting to balance their budgets on our backs.

Naperville PD just won a generous arbitrator award, so the city gets mad and to get even, they lay-off 6 officers.

Prospect heights just announced they are laying off 6 officers due to budget concerns. One of the officers had 14 years senority.

Times are tough and getting worse. This reminds me of 1977 all over again. :-(

I think the time has come for more attendance at FOP meetings by the working police. Lots of retirees go to FOP meetings. Working POs need to get to know the retirees. Retirees can be very useful, for example, if 20 or 30 rets. happen to be taking a walk down Normandy at 51st St. and suddenly get tired, because we are old, and need to rest on that corner for a period of time, well then, it is what it is.

One of the simplest ways to save money in the messed up dept. and city is to take away all the needless take home cars. It's a huge waste and the vehicles could be used in patrol responding to 911 calls. The rest of the world drives to and from work in their own cars why can't the clouted also?

July 1, 2009 (WLS) -- A 38-year-old Chicago police officer is being accused of a civil rights violation.

Craig Swistowicz has been an officer for 12 years. He is accused of striking an arrestee in September of 2007 while on a drug enforcement task force.

If convicted, the officer could face up to a $250,000 fine, 10 years' prison time and three years' probation.

Chicago's Independent Police Review Authority assisted in the investigation with federal officials.

He does need our support with this judge. She has emotional problems and is anti-police. There is no way she should be on the bench, but there is virtually no way to remove her before she ruins many lives in her courtroom.

Even if she rules incorrectly in this case, she will be overturned. She is the poster child for what's wrong with this system.
