Does anyone ever vet who this moron meets with? Pfleger for god's sake? That asshole has done more to destroy CPD's relationship with the community than just about anyone besides Jesse Jackson. Has anyone told J-Fled about his shenanigans?
And anyone from the Nation of Islam? These are the same asswipes that used to have "security guards" posted in lobbies of project buildings who would make sure the gates were always open for the fleeing dope dealers, but secured against pursuing officers. And of course, there's their leader's personal problems with race baiting and anti-police rhetoric.
It sure seems like the only job that Masters Masters Masters is capable of is guiding our "leader" into completely inappropriate and counterproductive scenarios that make him radioactive to the rank-and-file.

Been on the dept long enough to know when you screw someone over it comes back to you ten fold. Tonight, while Purple Shades was confined to MSF desk duty, his former 20 team lost a prisoner in the Southside. This was the same hard charging MSF team that 2 weeks ago told (snitched)LT PK that MT was too aggressive, right? I've known MT since SOS and I can tell you if he were out there, that prisoner wouldn't have gotten the jump on them. Deep down inside each of them know it too. MT is as mean as a pitbull. Say what you want about his over bearing ways on the street, but you can't deny the guy keeps the thugs in check. Always carrying his wooden baton, even in stations.
Stay warm Brother. You ain't missing a thing out here. Thank your lucky stars those "heroes" of 20 team got you dumped to the inside! Here's a thought, dump every last swinging dick on that useless team to the desk and give us back MT!

SCC, I usually applaud what you post here. I'll even state for the record that 3M has done more harm to this Dept. , as one of the more prominent Mayoral civilian 'drop ins' of exempt rank, than any of the others, even more than J-Fled himself, because, as most people here at 35th st know, Masters is the de facto head of this Dept., and has been for some time now, holding the envious position of calling all the major shots, and taking none of the heat for many of his poor decisions when they are exposed. Having said that, it's hard to fault J-Fled for meeting with the religious 'leaders' you mentioned, when previous Supts. have had to do the very same thing. Like them or hate them, those people cannot be ignored. Whoever the next Supt. this dept. gets next year will have to do the same thing; they'll do it quietly, of course, but it will be done, make no mistake about it. Just like every District Commander will have regular meetings with the aldermen whose wards crisscross through their respective districts.
We've all seen what's happened recently when a competent and respected Cmdr of 002 was quickly replaced by Weis because of a call from one of the aldermen from that District; the higher ranking members of this Dept. cannot totally escape the demands of this city's politicians, and that includes the so-called religious leaders. If you're going to blast J-Fled here, continue to do so where he shows blatant signs of incompetence/weakness, but to knock him for doing the same thing that many City dept. heads have done and will continue to do is rather weak. The old rule, "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer" would seem to apply.
I wonder if the subject of proper parenting came up at all.

Mt is good coppur and is the guy you want in your corner when the shit hits the fan. Combat vet and not afraid to act. He's just hard to sit in a car with for 8 hours. The superintendent of police of any city cannot refuse to meet with prominent citizens or leaders, even if they are not liked by segments of society. The superintendent is a member of the mayor's cabinet and therefor must reflect the policies of the mayor. I don't care who holds that job, these truths remain. I cannot recall a past superintendent who was independent of the mayor's office. Can you?? I didn't think so. They all have taken their marching orders from the 5th floor and will also in the future.None of them had any real courage when it came to standing up against the mayor.
